Love Symphony: Let Your Heart Beat for Me-Chapter 115 - 64: Past Events Like Clouds and Smoke
Chapter 115: Chapter 64: Past Events Like Clouds and Smoke
The sky is unkind.
Early in the morning, the sky was overcast, and now a fine rain was falling. Wrapped in this mist, it looked like mist yet felt like rain, endlessly intertwined.
Jiang Zhiyan sat in the Maybach, looking at the neighborhood shrouded in rain and fog ahead, and lit another cigarette.
The car windows were all down, cold fine rain was swept inside by the wind. In a haze, he saw a solitary figure slowly walking into the rain from a building.
Startled, Jiang Zhiyan extinguished the freshly lit cigarette, grabbed the black umbrella from beneath the passenger seat, and hurriedly ran over.
"Aunt." Jiang Zhiyan sheltered her under the umbrella, his expression slightly tense, "How did it go?"
Jiang Yun’s gaze was vacant, and she suddenly pulled a mocking smile, "Zhiyan, in this life, don’t do anything bad."
Everything now is the retribution for her resolute departure back then.
Jiang Yun’s sudden visit disrupted the time to leave, messing up the mood for the family’s mountain blessing trip. In the end, they didn’t go.
After a simple lunch, Su Wan returned to her room alone, lying flat on the bed, her mind blank. She wasn’t sad, but she didn’t know what feeling was in her heart.
Sitting up, she opened the bottom drawer of the study desk, taking out a tin box about the size of a notebook.
With a "click," the long-sealed tin box was pried open by Su Wan.
Inside lay a yellowing old photo and a slightly crumpled concert ticket.
It was a photo of Su Wan at age two with Jiang Yun in front of a small villa, and the only one.
Catching a glimpse, Su Wan noticed the ticket inside. The name "Heng Yan" was extremely prominent on the ticket.
Her mood instantly brightened considerably. Holding the ticket, she grabbed the phone on the nightstand and called Fu Weiheng.
When Su Wan called, Fu Weiheng was sitting in the living room with Ye Fan, painting. He glanced at the incoming call notification on the screen, feeling somewhat surprised.
Isn’t this the time to be at the mountain blessing?
He stood up, answering the call and headed to the study on the second floor.
"What’s up?" His deep voice remained gentle.
"Neil, what are you doing?" she asked.
Fu Weiheng was a bit stunned, vaguely sensing her lighthearted tone was a bit off, replied, "Painting with Fanfan." He pushed open the study door, "What about you, weren’t you supposed to go to the temple today? Already back?"
Su Wan stared at the ticket with the line "Heng Yan H&Y Symphony Orchestra European Tour Concert - London Station," her tone took on a melancholic edge: "No, something came up, so I didn’t go." She curled up by the headboard, after a while she added, "Neil, are you busy? Can you chat with me?"
The calm voice carried a faint trace of suppressed emotions.
Fu Weiheng knew she was unhappy. He glanced at the clock on the wall and returned to the bedroom, softly saying, "What would you like to talk about?"
Su Wan thought for a moment: "I want to hear about your childhood."
Fu Weiheng recalled for a long time, in the end, he touched his brow in distress, helplessly laughing, "I seem to have done nothing but practice piano during my childhood..."
"Yes, Neil..." Su Wan raised the ticket, smiled wistfully, "I bought a ticket for your concert in London four years ago."
"Hmm?" Fu Weiheng took a sweater from the wardrobe with mild surprise, "Did you go too?"
Su Wan paused in contemplation: "No... missed the start time..."
"Hmm." He softened his voice to soothe her, "Next time we’ll wait for your time and start when you arrive."
Su Wan was taken aback, then burst into a self-deprecating laugh: "If you spoil me this way, I’ll become spoiled."
He, however, said: "Spoiled, then you’ll only be mine."
...
Ending the call, it was already two hours later, and drowsiness struck Su Wan who planned to nap.
However, shortly after closing her eyes, the phone on the table buzzed unexpectedly, startling Su Wan who hurriedly reached for the phone.
A strange number appeared on the caller ID, she hesitated for a while but finally picked up: "Hello."
The environment on the other end was very quiet, like a sealed space where even the sound of air couldn’t be heard. Just as Su Wan thought it was a spam call and was about to hang up, a familiar clear male voice suddenly came through, startling Su Wan——
"Su Wan, it’s Jiang Zhiyan, can you talk?"
She unconsciously frowned, faintly understanding what he wished to discuss, eventually agreeing: "Alright."
Fu Mansion
Fu Weiheng glanced at the screen showing two hours of call time, feeling uneasy, he opened Qin Mu’s WeChat——
Neil: "Did something happen at home?"
A minute later, he received Qin Mu’s reply——
Mumu Baby: "Something’s up... Brother-in-law, you know about the matters between my sister and her mom, right?"
