Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 67 - 68 Pregnant 1
Chapter 67: Chapter 68 Pregnant 1
Iris Harris hadn’t seen Brandan Hyde for a long time.
After moving back to her own villa from the Hyde Residence, she fell ill.
The illness came fiercely and strangely; she began to feel excessively sleepy, drowsy, unfocused, and even lost her appetite.
The company’s business was busy, and within a few days, she had lost a noticeable amount of weight. Even Faye, who was responsible for cleaning for her, noticed how drastically she had slimmed down and couldn’t help but urge her to go to the hospital.
Iris knew she couldn’t go on like this, but there was an element of indifference in her heart. Perhaps because of Brandan, she had become quite neglectful of her own health.
She didn’t go to the hospital, but she knew Brandan went to accompany Viola Harris every day; a marriage certificate meant nothing in Brandan’s eyes.
Even though they were officially registered, emotionally, they were still strangers.
Every time she thought of such things, Iris felt a heart-wrenching pain and didn’t dare to think further.
Trying to make herself give up was really not easy.
She could deceive others but not herself.
Even knowing it was hopeless, the love she felt for that person still couldn’t be erased from her heart.
How despairing this reality was.
She threw herself into work, trying to forget the pain, but to no avail; whenever things quieted down, she would unconsciously think of his name.
Brandan Hyde was truly her obsession.
On this morning, Iris came downstairs as usual. Faye had already prepared breakfast early. Seeing her, she greeted warmly, "Miss Harris, good morning!"
Iris smiled back slightly and replied, "Good morning."
She sat in the dining room, looking at the milk and fried eggs on the table. She didn’t really have much of an appetite, but skipping food wasn’t an option; if she didn’t eat anything all morning, she would surely faint in the office.
She had been having severe symptoms of hypoglycemia lately.
Lackadaisically, she used the knife to cut a piece of egg white and tasted it in small bites. Seeing her frown slightly, Faye came in and asked worriedly, "What’s wrong, Miss Harris? Is it not to your taste?"
Faye had taken care of Iris for three years, and logically, Iris had grown accustomed to her cooking. But lately, for some reason, Iris had eaten very little of what she cooked, making Faye wonder if Iris had grown tired of it.
"It’s nothing."
Iris put down her fork, feeling nauseous at the eggy smell, but she knew it was her issue, unrelated to Faye.
To cleanse her palate, she took a sip of the warm milk next to her.
"Ugh..."
After just one sip, Iris’s complexion changed as she abruptly stood up and rushed to the bathroom.
Faye was startled, anxiously following her, only to find Iris clutching the sink, vomiting in a disheveled state, everything she just ate was thrown up.
"Miss Harris, are you alright?"
Faye stood at the door worried sick, wanting to help but not daring to, only able to stand worriedly from a distance.
Iris vomited for quite a while until she felt like her bile would be the next to come up, then she weakly leaned against the sink, slowly exhaling a breath.
She lifted her head to look at herself in the mirror — that gaunt, pale-faced woman was almost unrecognizable to her.
"Miss Harris..."
"I’m fine."
Iris gradually recovered, turning on the faucet to slowly wash her face. Besides a layer of cold sweat that made her body feel cold in shivers, she was otherwise fine.
