Love at First Sight? Mr. Harrison Has Been Scheming All Along-Chapter 183: "What kind of ill-fated relationship is this.
Charlotte Rhodes wasn’t surprised by this request. She nodded. "Alright, I agree."
In truth, she felt she owed Rory Linden.
A few years ago, the Harrington family’s former butler, Ivan Lowell, had contacted her and told her about some things that happened back then.
Rory Linden’s mother, Quinn Linden, had been the victim from start to finish.
And she...
...had known all along.
Her husband, Sean Harrison’s father, had always been a complete and utter scumbag.
She hated this man, and in truth, she didn’t have much affection for the child they had together either...
But back then, she had still pushed all the blame onto Quinn Linden.
Accusing her mother of being a homewrecker right to Rory Linden’s face...
"Alright. I’ll be back tomorrow to perform a comprehensive examination. After that, I’ll have a surgical plan ready within two days." Rory Linden glanced at her watch. "If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving."
Only after receiving permission did Rory Linden turn and leave.

At the same time, Sean Harrison’s car pulled up to the entrance of Sanctum Hospital’s inpatient department.
The hospital’s leadership, having been notified, immediately sent a doctor down.
Sean Harrison’s time was precious.
He was striding forward...
CLICK... CLACK...
A Rubik’s cube rolled to his feet.
Ethan Dixon was right behind him. Just as he was about to pick up the cube, Sean Harrison bent down and retrieved it first.
The man glanced around before noticing a small boy sitting on a nearby sofa.
The boy was wearing a white shirt and gray plaid overalls. He had started to get up to retrieve the cube, but his movements faltered when he saw it had already been picked up.
Sean Harrison himself didn’t particularly like children, but there weren’t many kids in his professional circles anyway.
Looking at the child before him, Sean Harrison thought nothing of it. He walked over, bent down slightly, and held out the Rubik’s cube.
The boy looked up, his eyes meeting Sean’s, and said earnestly, "Thank you."
"You’re welcome."
Sean Harrison replied casually.
He didn’t pay much attention to the child’s appearance, but Ethan Dixon, standing to the side, couldn’t help but stare, his eyes wide.
He was standing closest to the child, and looking at the boy’s fair skin and big, dark eyes, he couldn’t help but murmur, "This kid... he’s quite handsome."
The little boy wasn’t just handsome.
The most striking thing about him was...
If Sean Harrison had a son, he would probably look just like this.
To use a popular internet phrase, "Even Sean Harrison himself probably couldn’t produce a son who looked this much like him."
Ethan Dixon couldn’t resist asking, "Why is this child here all by himself?"
A young nurse hurried over and explained, "I’m so sorry, I just stepped away for a moment. He’s the son of one of our visiting surgeons. He’s waiting for his mom."
Just then, the doctor in charge of receiving Sean Harrison also rushed down.
The doctor ran all the way to Sean Harrison’s side, catching his breath for a moment before saying, "President Harrison, my apologies for keeping you waiting. I’ll take you up now."
"I was told the expert from abroad was coming today. Have they arrived?"
Sean Harrison got straight to the point.
"Yes, yes, they’ve arrived. The expert just went to the ward to check on your mother’s condition. However, the full examination and treatment plan will take two days, and the surgery will likely be scheduled in about ten days."
The doctor didn’t actually know when the surgery would be scheduled; he was just making an educated guess based on experience.
He was trying to make his report sound as detailed as possible.
Sean Harrison asked directly, "Where is this expert now?"
"One moment, let me contact Director Linden and ask."
The doctor said, pulling out his phone to make a call.
After the call, he turned to Sean Harrison. "The expert had other matters to attend to and has already left."
"..." Sean Harrison couldn’t help but frown. "Didn’t they come to Celestria specifically to treat my mother? What other matters could they possibly have?"
"Well..."
"If this expert is unprofessional, find a new one."
Sean Harrison was already unimpressed with this expert he had yet to meet.
His words also served to portray him as a good son who cared about his mother.
Ethan Dixon knew Sean Harrison wasn’t actually angry. Seeing the doctor’s predicament, he spoke up.
"The expert just endured a flight of over ten hours. It’s normal to need some rest at the hotel after such a long journey. They need to be well-rested to do their job properly."
"..."
Sean Harrison said nothing more.
He went to Charlotte Rhodes’s hospital room, made a token appearance, and then left.
When he returned to the first floor, the little boy was gone.
Looking up, he saw a minivan parked outside. The little boy was being ushered into the vehicle by a woman.
’Probably the child’s mother.’
After Sean Harrison got back in the car, Ethan Dixon said, "President Harrison, your next appointment is with Dr. Christensen..."
"Let’s go."
Sean Harrison sat in the back of the sedan, leaning his head against the seat and closing his eyes to rest.
He had been undergoing psychological and psychiatric treatment for the past five years, ever since a car accident.
At first, he took some medication, but he stopped after a year.
Initially, his appointments were frequent, but they later spaced out to once a month, then once every three months.
And today, it had been half a year since he last saw this doctor.
Sean Harrison walked into the familiar hospital and sat in the familiar office.
The doctor asked him in detail about his recent condition and ran a relatively comprehensive examination.
Once all the test results were in, the doctor said, "Mr. Harrison, from the looks of it, you no longer need to take medication or come in for regular check-ups. If anything comes up later, you can just contact me."
In truth, this was the result Sean Harrison had expected.
He hadn’t taken any medication for the past six months, and there had been no abnormalities in his physical or mental state, or his behavior.
"Thank you." After expressing his gratitude, Sean Harrison couldn’t help but ask, "Doctor, is it possible that I wasn’t actually sick, but that my behavior back then was caused by certain circumstances?"
"That’s highly unlikely, but we can’t rule out the possibility that a specific situation triggered your extreme behavior at the time. With active treatment over this period, combined with a change in environment, the condition has been brought under control."
After explaining, the doctor added, "However, I must emphasize that this type of illness carries a lifelong risk of relapse. If anything happens, don’t try to tough it out. You must seek medical attention immediately."
Sean Harrison stood up, feeling a great sense of relief.
For the past five years, he had constantly worried that his condition would progress and affect his ability to work normally.
His company now employed hundreds of thousands of people. If his health failed, the company could face losses or even bankruptcy, which would leave those hundreds of thousands of employees jobless, and their families would face a crisis.
Hearing the doctor’s words now, the weight in his heart could finally be set aside, at least for the time being.
-
"I can’t believe the patient who brought you back to Celestria for surgery is actually Sean Harrison’s mother."
Sherry Walsh had picked up Rory Linden and her son.
She had just heard about Rory’s experience at the hospital and couldn’t help but shake her head and sigh.
"What an ill-fated connection you two have."
