Lyra stood at the center of the ground and Xavier helped her climb a van, so everyone could see her, even from far away.

"Hello everyone! I am here with my friend!"

"Umm..."

"Hello."

"Are you a girl?"

"Are your ears real?"

’What the fuck are these people saying?!’ Xavier couldn’t help but curse. ’I can’t blame Lyra because she doesn’t know how to talk well in the human language. She is even worse in the beast language. And I wasn’t sure if the beasts would understand the space language Lyra is fluent in.’

Lyra took Xavier’s phone and showed them the picture of the fragment.

"We are looking for something like this! Help us find it!"

Everyone began to talk and whisper with each other. At a first glance, it seemed as though the beasts knew what Lyra was talking about, but that was not the case.

"Is it a rock?"

One of them even pointed out the mountain behind them and said, "You will find many rocks there."

"What is that thing?"

"Is that a human food?"

Xavier facepalmed himself and rubbed his face in frustration. It was obvious that talking with them wouldn’t work.

"Lyra." Xavier called out to her and leaned closer to whisper in her ears. "Ask them to bring their leader or whatever. It will be better if we talk to them directly."

Lyra nodded and turned to the beasts.

"Who is your leader?"

"Leader?"

"Like the boss?"

"Yes."

Some of the crowd dispersed while others made distance between them and Lyra.

"This scene feels familiar..." Xavier muttered.

"Lyra thinks so too."

"Looks like they went to get their leader, and out of respect... or fear, they have made distance between us."

"Don’t worry, Xavier. If anything happens, I will protect you." She smiled at Xavier and shot a grin. "You are my master now."

"Let’s..." Xavier rubbed the back of his neck. "Let’s not have a master-servant relationship. You are my friend. We are equal, but since I am your boss too, you will have to do some things for me."

"Like touching your dick?" she asked with an innocent look on her face.

"No! Why would you even say that?"

"Lilia touches your dick, right? Don’t you want me to touch it too? Did you not free me from the prison to use me as a sex slave? That officer said so."

"No, no. It was just all part of my act. Didn’t I already tell you everything?" Xavier shook his hand as he tried to prove his innocence. Although he hadn’t done anything, his act was believable.

Of course, it wasn’t a big deal and Xavier couldn’t care less about it. But for the beasts, it was a big deal.

For them, Lykaios were a noble species and descendants of their gods. In a way, they were prophets. Lyra would be a priestess, who should be pure and dignified.

However, they learned that not only she was with a human, but she was his sex slave too.

A few minutes later, a large group of beasts came surrounding who was seemingly their leader.

When they arrived on the ground, everyone fell to their knees and paid respect to their leader.

Xavier and Lyra, however, not only stood still, but they were on top of a van, at much higher ground than the leader.

The leader was a bearded beast, who looked like a mix of a rabbit and deer.

"Are you the human who awakened me from my slumber?" the leader asked.

"There is only me here, and I am indeed a human. So yes. It was I who summoned you here." Xavier spoke, imitating the tone of the leader.

"You insolent!" A lizard-like man raised and aimed his gun at Xavier. "How dare you speak to the king that way! And kneel! Kneel before the king!"

"Look man." Xavier raised his hands and shrugged his shoulders. "He may be your king, but not mine. And I don’t kneel in front of anyone except the goddess who has blessed me. However..."

Xavier turned to Lyra.

"I think my friend here has more authority than you king. Am I right? I am not from here and I don’t know the rules and stuff, but according to what I know, you can’t even raise a voice in front of the noble, and yet..."

Xavier’s red eyes shined as he looked down on the man. "You dared to raise your weapon against her? Isn’t your crime considered treason and punishable by death?"

"I didn’t aim at her! I aimed at you!"

"Enough!" The leader raised his hand and stared at Xavier. "What is your name, young human?"

"My name is Xavier."

"Hmm. My name is Kilop." The leader hummed in amusement. He played with his beard and got lost in thought.

"And this is Lyra." Xavier introduced her without even asking.

"My people told me you were here in search of something. May I ask what it is?"

The leader was talking calmly, with a gentle smile on his face. It reminded Xavier of his father, who talked and acted in the same manner.

"Lyra."

Lyra jumped down the van with Xavier’s phone and showed the image of the fragment to the leader.

"Oh..." The leader’s eyes widened in shock. "I see."

"A guy named Bull dropped it here a few months ago. He must have said that someone would come to take it back, so here I am."

"Yes, I know what the rock is. But unfortunately, I cannot give it to you." The leader extended his hand towards Xavier, seemingly asking him to come down the van.

Lyra also spread her hands, so Xavier jumped at Lyra and she caught him with ease.

The leader looked at Xavier and Lyra’s interaction and was amused to see them.

"Can I ask why you cannot give it to me? If you want some kind of payment, I can arrange it, but I have to see the rock first."

"It is not that I don’t want to give it to you. I can’t give it to you because I have lost it."
