Lord of the Magical Beasts-Chapter 677 - Wizard God Religion
Chapter 677: Wizard God Religion
Yang Ling followed the disappearing Fire God Raymond with his gaze, then asked the Golden Roc to call over Goode. “Goode, pacify the alarmed residents promptly and provide medical care to the wounded. Allocate some funds for repairing the collapsed houses, as well. We need to mitigate the impact of the storm as much as possible.” He paused for thought. “In addition, dispatch several units of soldiers to patrol the town for the next few days, and make sure you take strict precautions against looting or rioting. These are unusual times, and you must pay extra attention to public security.”
Yang Ling had prepared for emergency situations, but he still hadn’t expected a rare spatial ion storm to appear at such a critical juncture. Self-recrimination was pointless, though, so he focused his attention on repairing the damage to his town and providing aid to the disaster’s victims.
Most of the Restriction Spells on the plaza had been destroyed, but they had managed to block most of the destructive energy. The storm seemed to have devastated the town at first glance, but after Yang Ling used his powerful Divine Consciousness, he discovered that there weren’t as many collapsed houses and dead residents as he had first thought. That was a silver lining, at least.
“My Lord, you can set your mind at ease. I will deal with this promptly.”
After Goode received orders, he left and started bossing people around. He organized the crowd to provide medical care to the wounded, and he also made an announcement to reassure the town’s residents. At the same time, he directed other groups to catalog the damage and start repainting houses. Under his methodical direction, all sorts of tasks were carried out. The situation was quickly settled due to the Magical Beast Territory’s great manpower and physical resources. Everything was within Yang Ling’s expectations. After they finished cataloging the damage, they found out that the losses were far lower than they had imagined.
After Yang Ling confirmed that the ion storm had disappeared completely, he went back to building the Dimensional Channel. He used his insights about Teleportation Gates and set up a different large Spatial Teleportation Gate with Premium Crystals. He still set up a large-scale, underground Spirit Gathering Formation Spell to ensure that the Spatial Teleportation Gate would have plenty of energy and continue working for a long time.
He didn’t mind using a large amount of Premium Crystals to achieve this, and the project consumed most of the crystals stored in Lord Manor. Yuna even transferred over a large number of crystals from annexed territories and mines to ensure that the work would proceed smoothly.
After Yang Ling finished his work on the Magical Beast Territory, he followed a set pattern and created another Spatial Teleportation Gate in the Wizard Pagoda’s Space. The Wizard Pagoda’s dimension wasn’t like Tailun Continent, and any energy changes that occurred inside it were within his grasp. That was why an accident didn’t occur while building the Spatial Gate.
“Now, only the last step is left.” After Yang Ling ran repeated tests on both Spatial Teleportation Gates, he summoned a large amount of Soul Energy to leave a deep Soul Imprint on both gates. Using his mysterious Wizard Spells and powerful Divine Consciousness, he managed to quickly and smoothly connect the two Spatial Gates.
Buzz!
After he put a certain amount of Wizard Power into the large Spatial Gate, it let out a soft noise and emitted faint silver light. Abstruse Energy Ripples also spread from it, and mysterious symbols were faintly discernible among the silver light. It seemed very mysterious!
“The Dimensional Channel is a success. My Lord, we have succeeded,” Ophilia said in an excited voice when she saw a Twin-legged Flying Dragon emerge from the Spatial Gate. She was the real manager of the Wizard Pagoda’s Space, and she knew better than anyone the strategic significance of the creation of a Dimensional Channel connected to the outside world.
In the past, she had suggested creating a Dimensional Channel leading to the Magical Beast Territory. She had just been discussing ideas, though; she hadn’t expected that Yang Ling would really achieve it.
“Heaven Gate, oh my God. Could it be that this is the Heaven Gate of the legends?”
“It’s said that our Magical Beast Territory has a real holy land, and only the Wizard Sect’s Inner Sanctum Disciple can enter it. That land doesn’t have wars and illnesses. Every person who goes into it will get eternal life, and he will also be able to practice top-notch spells with great power.”
“The holy land, when will we get the right to enter it? Even if we can’t live there, it would still be amazing to see it.”
“Hehe. William, stop daydreaming and come up with a way to make a great contribution. We must first become Outer Sanctum disciples of the Wizard Sect before considering anything else.”
…
When the soldiers on duty on the city’s walls saw the mysterious Spatial Gate on the plaza, which was shining with silver light, they exclaimed in astonishment and discussed the gate spiritedly. After the Wizard Sect was officially formed, it recruited a large number of elites in various fields. Any soldier who made enough military contributions would get to join the Wizard Sect’s Outer Sanctum. They would gain access to a large number of Practice Mantras of Battle Energy and magic, and they would have the chance to become lofty experts. Joining the Outer Sanctum was quite easy, but it was extremely difficult to become an Inner Sanctum Disciple of the Wizard Sect.
“My Lord, this Dimensional Channel should be guarded by a massive military force. We will be in great trouble if an enemy manages to sneak into the Wizard Pagoda’s Space.” After the Corpse Wizard King Rodriguez got over his excitement, he began to think of potential problems. He grew quite worried.
Building a Dimensional Channel had great significance to the Magical Beast Territory and the Wizard Pagoda’s Space. But, it still posed a great deal of danger, too. If a powerful enemy sneaked into the Wizard Pagoda’s Space and wreaked havoc, the consequences would be too horrible to imagine. Just divulging the secret of the Wizard Pagoda’s Space could bring them great trouble.
“This Dimensional Channel belongs exclusively to us, and other people won’t get to use it.” Yang Ling chuckled. He had already considered the Corpse Wizard King’s worries before he built the Spatial Gate. He paused for a moment before he said slowly, “One won’t be able to activate the Dimensional Channel without enough pure Wizard Power. Even if a powerful Divine Lord came here, he could only destroy the Dimensional Channel by force. There’s no way he could sneak inside.”
“Lord, how strong is the Wizard Power required to activate it?”
The Blood Angel Ophilia’s eyes lit up. Making a Teleportation Gate that could only be activated with Wizard Power was the safest method. After all, only a few strong Magical Beasts with Yang Ling, Master Aaron, and several other trusted elites knew about Yang Ling’s Wizard Power. So, how could anyone activate the Dimensional Channel by force?
“Bartley practiced Wizard Spells for the last period, and his Wizard Power is barely enough to activate the Dimensional Channel.” The Corpse Wizard King, Ophilia, and others listened to Yang Ling attentively. Upon seeing this, Yang Ling chuckled and waved his hand to summon the baldie mammoth Bartley. Soon after, he said. “Bartley, you will lead a group of Magical Beasts and guard the Dimensional Channel on this domain.”
Bartley had been an apex Mid-Level Deity, but he had trained strenuously for the last period and he was close to advancing to become a High-Level Deity. Yang Ling believed that as long as he gave Bartley a Magical Divine Ring, it would be easy for him to become a HIgh-Level Deity. His power would advance by leaps and bounds.
If the Dimensional Channel was protected by the God-Level Mammoth Bartley, as well as a large group of Magical Beasts and layer upon layer of Restriction Spells, then most people with vile intentions wouldn’t survive an attack on the gate. But Yang Ling still took other precautions. After he rested for half a day, he set up other layers of Restriction Spells on the former base and hid the whole Dimensional Channel.
It would seem from afar that the Dimensional Channel was engulfed by white mist, and unless Yang Ling told someone specifically how to get there, a person could wander through the mist forever without stumbling upon the gate. They would get lost in the maze-like Restriction Spells.
After Yang Ling repeatedly tested to make sure that the Dimensional Channel was safe and reliable, he convened the crowd to discuss their next plan. He planned to carry out a large-scale development of the Wizard Pagoda’s Space.
“My Lord, Faith Power is crucial for our Magical Beast Divine Branch’s rapid development, and I believe that we must allow tens of millions of people to migrate in the shortest time possible. We should probably send more people to the Wizard Pagoda’s Space and make them settle in it. We should also convert them into believers of the Great Wizard in the shortest time possible.” Ophilia had broad experience, and she was aware of the importance of Faith Power to a Divine Branch.
Ophilia had once been a Battle Angel, and she understood that if Yang Ling’s elites wanted to become real Divine Duty Experts, then their individual efforts and training weren’t the most important factors. What mattered most was Yang Ling’s ability to become a Divine Lord that could overlook all beings, and Faith Power was crucial for reaching the Divine Lord Stage.
One wouldn’t get enough Faith Power without a sufficient number of believers, and one wouldn’t manage to become a lofty Divine Lord without enough Faith Power.
“That is right. My Lord, we must send a large number of people to the Wizard Pagoda’s Space. We must still build at least five cities in addition to the Holy City, each of which should be able to accommodate a million people. Later, we should also build many small and mid-sized towns.”
Goode had made progress in his own training, and because of that, he now seemed much younger than before. He could also think and ponder more clearly. He paused for a moment before he said, “If we have a certain number of people and towns, the Wizard Pagoda’s Space will develop its own economic cycle, and at that point, we will be able to create Guilds for spellcasters, mercenaries, adventurers, hunters, and other occupations. We can also support other factions and help them create nations. We will use the Wizard Sect’s religion to restrict every nation and empire, and you won’t have to take part in the secular world’s affairs.”
Goode wasn’t aware of the importance of Faith Power, but no one knew more clearly than him the complex relationship between religions and states. He was the Bantu Empire’s previous military and civil minister, and his family was a great noble family with a lineage that ran back a thousand years. He knew many matters unbeknown to most people.
“Good, good. From this day onward, the Wizard Sect’s Outer Sanctum will be officially changed into the Wizard God Religion, and the Blood Angel Ophilia will be its first saint. As for the Pope?” Yang Ling looked at the numerous heroic generals standing all around him. He paused for a moment before he said slowly, “Goode will take the pope’s office, and he will be in charge of all matters related to the Wizard God Religion. As for Ashnamov, he will be the Guardian Knight Commander, and he will be in charge of…”
Yang Ling quickly and decisively moved through the appointments. It was really like what Goode had said. As the Great Soul Wizard, Yang Ling should focus on establishing the Magical Beast Divine Branch and increasing his power. He mustn’t take part in the secular world’s affairs.
After Yang Ling gave them several simple instructions, he announced that he would be training in seclusion for a while, then he left with large strides. Yang Ling’s commanders stayed behind to discuss the details of the plan. They discussed everything from the Wizard God Religion’s establishment to people’s migration, and they gave everything careful consideration before they decided exactly how they would carry out each task.
