Chapter 37: The End of the Battle.

[Top of the hill — After sunset.]

The shockwaves rumbled on the hill.

The air roared, trees went flying with each blow. The earth broke away, lifting clouds of dust.

All of it, caused by a fierce fight.

"Don’t you get it, bitch!? None of your attacks work on me! I’m invisible!" Rat exclaimed as he received another of Nora’s blows.

The shockwave was brutal, lifting part of the ground, and making the surrounding trees fly.

While Rat said that, he was slightly worried inside.

The reason was simple, at first Nora’s blows didn’t even cause shockwaves, that’s because his Asurastra was capable of nullifying vectors, erasing their force.

However, little by little they began to create increasingly stronger shockwaves with their blows, something that shouldn’t happen if the force of the blow disappeared.

"It’s invincible, idiot! And I’m not giving up until I defeat you, villain. Don’t think your stupid ability intimidates me, I still haven’t given up," Nora exclaimed firmly, there wasn’t a hint of doubt in her voice.

As if the fact that she was going to win was an unbreakable truth that she would carry out.

The girl kept attacking with her fists, she had stopped attacking with the sword because Rat deflected the flames and directed them against her, so it was more prudent to focus on hitting him.

"That’s what I said!" Rat replied, somewhat embarrassed.

The boy received the blow with his forearm, taking advantage of the physical contact to use his Devastra.

The latter was greatly enhanced, so he could use it practically without limit.

With simple contact, Nora’s arm twisted unnaturally, as if it were a rag being wrung out to dry it.

Nora didn’t scream at the attack, even if her bone had pierced through the skin, making keter splash from her body, the girl didn’t emit any complaint.

In a quick movement, her arm turned in the opposite direction, repairing itself so fast that she could hit Rat’s arm a second time.

The boy’s eyes opened wide, he had felt it.

That last blow, while it hadn’t caused him overwhelming pain, he did feel it.

His Asurastra was failing.

"Heh, what were you saying?" Nora said mockingly, noticing the boy’s expression.

He tried to move away, but she gave him a strong stomp on his foot preventing him from escaping.

With a quick movement, she used all her acceleration and weight to throw a powerful punch at Rat.

The boy felt fear, and preferred not to take it.

He used vector manipulation on his own body to accelerate and dodge the attack, and subsequently pull his foot out from under Nora’s foot.

"Don’t think you’ve won yet, brat!" the boy exclaimed with excitement and rage, accelerating his own body to an immeasurable speed.

Rat began to spin around her, so fast that he almost seemed to have divided into thousands of clones.

Then, he began to throw thousands of blows at the girl in all directions, hitting every part of her body.

Each blow was loaded with enough force to destroy a building, but it also carried an effect that twisted the flesh and organs around the fist.

The first blows made total destruction in the area they impacted, however each blow was increasingly weaker.

Even if Rat began to add power to the blow, they were increasingly ineffective, like simple caresses that couldn’t even pierce through her orgone.

As it happened, Rat saw how the wounds he had made with the first blows were beginning to heal in slow motion.

Nora was healing before the blow even fully expanded.

The boy was dismayed, at the beginning of the battle Nora couldn’t hurt him while every attack he made was lethal.

However, now, the tables had turned in a way he never would have imagined.

He couldn’t keep doing that, he had to throw a blow that would finish her off definitively.

The boy moved away, his speed was so great that the world around him seemed to be stopped.

Now far away, the boy began to spin vectors around his fist, faster and faster.

Space seemed to twist around his fist, as if his vectors were affecting the very canvas of reality.

Rat smiled, feeling that immense power he now had.

With that power, he would never be treated badly again. No one would dare mock him.

That power would place him at the top of the food chain, but to be able to use it, first he had to defeat Nora.

The boy looked at her, she seemed frozen in time.

On her waist hung that weapon, with power comparable to a fire Devastra, without a doubt she was a formidable enemy.

But the combat would end now.

Rat accelerated, so fast that the world around him seemed to stretch, as if he were deforming reality itself with his speed.

Then, he did it, he threw that punch at Nora, aiming at her chest, using all his strength.

That’s when he saw it, how a smile formed on Nora’s lips.

Suddenly, her position changed, she grabbed her sword and raised it in the air, as her body turned with a speed even faster than his.

Nora didn’t hesitate, she brought the blade of the sword down on the boy’s arm.

The sword should have stayed still, unable to pierce through Rat, his Asurastra was a vector negator, no object could harm him.

However, Nora’s authority was evolution.

A power that allowed her to evolve during battle until obtaining enough power to defeat her enemies.

Against that, even Rat’s unstoppable defense was useless.

And his arm was cut, not by the blade, but by the heat that the sword gave off, wrapped in Nora’s golden aura.

It was a clean cut, when the arm separated from its owner, the vectors spinning around it lost all control.

All that accumulated energy exploded, causing a twist in space itself that expanded like an explosion.

Nora didn’t even flinch, but something different happened to Rat.

Those out-of-control vectors managed to affect him, twisting his body in unnatural ways as he went flying far away.

The truth is that his own vectors shouldn’t be able to harm him, and they really didn’t, but they did affect the space around him, making the effect the same.

The boy went through several trees until he was stopped by a rock, where finally, the effect of the vectors ceased.

His body was destroyed, his limbs and organs were twisted in various directions, his body was covered in blackened keter.

Rat watched as Nora approached slowly, his vision was blurring.

"In the end, I’m still weak..." he said quietly, with the strength he had left.

Nora shook her head, as she finally reached him.

Her gaze was serious.

"Be proud, villain, you are strong," she responded, with a serious expression.

Rat felt a strange relief hearing those words.

Perhaps, the strength he had always needed was different.

But that didn’t matter now.

The combat had ended.
