Chapter 80: Chapter 68: Lord Tingfeng! I’m the Invincible Tyrannosaurus Warrior! Carry Me! Please

Hearing what Wolfman Captain Luo De said, Diablo had a pretty good idea of what was happening.

’The Divine Chosen Lord who appeared in the Wolfman territory must be just like the one named Zhao Chuan—utterly incompetent in a fight, with none of Lord Tingfeng’s one-man-army level of extraordinary power.’

’And so, the Wolfmen, who revered martial might above all else, refused to acknowledge him down to their very core.’

And this rejection wasn’t an isolated case.

The Forest Tribes in other regions were the same.

Although they all had different cultures, beliefs, and sacrificial traditions.

Some worshipped ancestral spirits, others revered beasts as totems, some stood in awe of nature’s might, and a few tribes even treated mysterious organs as sacred relics... But in the face of the iron law that strength reigns supreme, all these differences vanished.

Even when facing a mortal enemy in a deep-seated blood feud, if their opponent displayed thunderous power and a martial spirit that could scorch the heavens and split the earth, they would pound their fists against their chest plates, offering the highest respect one warrior could give another.

This was an unspoken creed for all the battle-loving Forest Tribes born in the jungle, an instinct etched into their very blood from the moment they first opened their eyes to the morning sun.

It was also the fundamental reason why all the Ratman Warriors had willingly submitted to Lord Tingfeng.

Moreover, Diablo picked up on a key piece of information.

These Wolfman Tribes, on the verge of establishing their own nation, harbored no hostility toward other Divine Chosen Lords outside their territory.

They wouldn’t be like the fallen Ratman Warriors of the Withered Leaf Tribe, who had sought to utterly destroy Lord Tingfeng and waged war against his Divine Chosen Army.

Instead, they would likely see Lord Tingfeng as an insignificant figure.

After all, as the most renowned Iron Cavalry Legion in the forest, the Wolfmen were born with an arrogance and confidence rivaling that of human Great Nobles.

If they decided to hunt someone, they would make their hostile intentions clear to all, confident that the spears in their hands could easily tear their opponent to shreds.

They wouldn’t resort to underhanded tactics, feigning goodwill to get close to someone only to dishonorably stab them in the back after winning their trust.

This honorable approach to conflict was the very reason why, after much consideration, Diablo had chosen not to hide Lord Tingfeng’s identity as a Divine Chosen Lord, but to state it plainly.

He wanted to use this candid test to discern Wolfman Captain Luo De’s true attitude toward Divine Chosen Lords and, by extension, gauge the stance of the entire White Wolf Empire.

...to prevent Lord Tingfeng from unwittingly walking into a dragon’s lair or a tiger’s den.

With this in mind, Diablo looked at Wolfman Captain Luo De. He wasn’t angered by the captain’s dismissive words about his Lord; instead, he explained in a serious tone:

"Luo De."

"Our Lord is completely different from other Divine Chosen Lords."

"He is not only a Divine Archer, a Professional who has awakened Extraordinary Power, but he also possesses a Supreme Archery Skill so great it can pierce Dragon Armor and never misses its mark."

"Moreover, he can control a Holy Healing Power akin to the Moonlight Spring Water of the Elf Race, healing the wounds of any living creature and allowing those on the brink of death to break free from the shackles of the Death God."

After a pause, Diablo suddenly recalled the deadly grace with which Qin Feng had wielded his longsword and added,

"And,"

"his skill in close-quarters combat is in no way inferior to us leaders of the Ratman Tribes."

"He can defeat the combined assault of several Ratman Warriors at once."

"He is a powerful, natural-born warrior."

Hearing this, Wolfman Captain Luo De’s interest was piqued. He said,

"Oh?"

"That impressive?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"In that case, I’d quite like to see this Lord of yours with my own eyes!"

"It makes sense, though. A Divine Chosen Lord who could unite all you scattered Ratman Tribes must possess extraordinary martial might and unparalleled cunning... He wouldn’t be like those useless, corpulent nobles from the human empires, who have nothing but a fancy Knightly title and can’t even lead a charge on the battlefield."

After a moment’s pause, Wolfman Captain Luo De suddenly changed the subject.

"But,"

"speaking of which."

"Now that all your Ratman Tribes are united,"

"haven’t you considered establishing a nation?"

"When that happens... your Ratman Empire, our White Wolf Empire, and the Minotaur Kingdom to the south... we three great nations of the forest could form an alliance!"

"We might even have a chance to take back the ancestral lands that were stolen by the human empires!"

Hearing this, Diablo’s heart sank as if struck by a sledgehammer.

’Establish a nation?’

’Lord Tingfeng does seem to have that intention!’

’But he’s never mentioned it. He probably feels the time isn’t right yet.’

’After all, our tribes suffered grievous losses in the recent civil war. Right now, we can’t even field a standard regiment of a thousand soldiers.’

’How could we have the audacity to call ourselves the "Ratman Empire"?’

’Fortunately, we Ratmen are naturally more fertile than other Forest Tribes, and our young grow at an unusual rate. In just a single year, they can be trained into green Ratman Reserve Soldiers...’

Just as he was lost in thought, a sharp voice suddenly cut through the air, reaching Diablo’s ears:

"Captain Luo De."

"I’ve finished forging that batch of iron spears you requested."

"You can send someone to pick them up anytime."

Diablo followed the sound and saw a slender human male. The clothes he wore weren’t the hand-tanned hides and linen common in this world. Instead, they looked just like the bizarre, outlandish garments Lord Tingfeng had been wearing when Diablo first met him.
