Lord Evolution: Starting With SS-rank Skills-Chapter 289: Calamity.(9)
DING
[ There is a way. Evolve your territory to E‑rank to unlock it ]
"What?"
Rowan did not expect that the system would respond to his question, and with a positive response no less.
"So it would be possible to give skills to my soldiers when I'm done evolving the territory. That is great!"
Rowan has a large number of skills he would like his soldiers to possess, even if he doesn't possess skills efficient for them. He could just go out and copy from those who have, and then pass it on to them.
For someone like him with overpowered skills, adding a means for him to empower his subjects with skills he possessed would only create a favourable situation. His soldiers could become overpowered!
"That is the motivation I needed!"
A confident smile appeared on his face as he advanced deeper into the horde, passing through the weaker monsters unharmed. After about ten minutes of running at top speed, he reached the part of the hordes that was filled with D‑rank monsters.
Motivated and determined to end the calamity as soon as possible, Rowan began attacking indiscriminately.
[ You've slayed X2... ]
[ You've slayed X1.... ]
[ You've slayed X3... ]
As Rowan was in the midst of monsters only, he did not have to hold back or watch out for his soldiers.
He simply swung his sword indiscriminately at a speed that eliminated even the toughest monsters upon impact!
"Fuck!"
Eliman, who was floating above the monster hordes not so far away, was greeted with yet another wave of amazement after witnessing Rowan's unstoppable prowess.
"What the heck is Winterseed even about?"
First — it was the soldiers who wielded strength and speed that broke past human limitation.
And now, Rowan, who was just a mage at the lowest level, was obliterating groups of D‑rank monsters as though they were nothing!
From above the battlefield, what he saw was a single figure creating dozens of corpses around him. Dozens of monsters fell every minute, at least one monster fell every three seconds — it was an incredible sight.
Even a Tier‑3 mage who has equivalent strength to the D‑rank monsters would not be able to pull off such a performance!
If the mage was skilled enough, he would only be able to slay at least five D‑rank monsters in a single minute. If the mage was overpowered at his rank, he would not be able to slay a dozen at once!
But an apprentice mage was pulling that off easily, taking down more than a dozen in a single minute.
SCREECH!
Black Drifter's terrifying screech drew the attention of the blood mage! He turned in its direction and, just like its master, the divine beast was obliterating a group of monsters with a powerful whirlwind attack.
Strong torrents of wind drifted out from the mouth of the skyshifter. The impact of the torrents ground the monsters beneath them to meat paste — it was an incredible scene.
GROWL!
Blaze's terrifying growl quickly brought the attention of the mage to the ground.
Blaze, wrapped in terrifying flames, zigzagged through the crowd, leaving a burnt corpse in its wake.
If Eliman was not strong enough with an improved perception, following the movement of the ashfire wolf would be impossible.
'I need to build a stronger relationship with this guy.'
Eliman made up his mind on the spot.
'Once I take on the leadership mantle of my people and a war arises, having a monster like him and his men would be my strongest trump card.'
For one, the enemy would greatly underestimate the strength of these people, thinking of them as nothing but ordinary, but then they would be greeted with the surprise of their lives.
'Thank God I befriended this guy.'
So many thoughts ran in the mind of the blood mage. What if he had made an enemy out of this guy back then?
'Hell nah. I can't even imagine being the enemy of this guy. He even has a friend that is an archmage to begin with!'
No matter how he thought of Rowan, he was simply supernatural.
'This guy.'
Merla was very far away from Rowan, she was at the forefront of the horde, close to the village.
However, she could view the deeper part of the battlefield thanks to the sensory link with her summoned creatures.
Right now, several of her purple hobgoblins were within proximity of Rowan.
From the sensory link they shared, she could see the graceful figure of Rowan slaughtering dozens of strong monsters as though they were nothing.
His movement was fluid and unpredictable, like a war god who had mastered the technique of war for a thousand years.
The female mage could swear that she had never seen anyone fight with a sword as gracefully as Rowan. It was stunning and captivating.
'He was one of our strongest cards against those evil cultists. But he is even fiercer with monsters, and these monsters are even stronger than those cultists. How is he this strong?'
She wondered.
If Rowan were the same level as the monsters he was battling with, she would believe that he had received the blessing of a powerful war god.
'But he is just an apprentice level mage. This is not possible. His divine beasts are not rare, but they are powerful.'
If she was told that she would see such an incredible talent in a backwater village, she would never believe.
But here it was happening before her eyes.
She even began to question her own prowess — she is the core disciple of a Tier‑5 mage. She had received lessons that others would never find anywhere, her affinity is one of the rarest affinities in the world.
Back in her hometown, she was a star. Beloved by her family, master, and the magic academy she attends.
Each day, she was reminded of just how precious she was.
How she was irreplaceable and blessed.
But here, in a backwater village hidden in the middle of nowhere, she became inferior!

Her focus was quickly shattered when the clear afternoon sky suddenly darkened, lightning flashed and thunder grumbled.
