Longevity Begins with Internal Organs-Chapter 304 - 199: The Fleshly Treasure Vessel Crosses the Bitter Sea (Part 3)
Of course, if they can’t realize the importance and plan on causing some trouble, Zhao Ya wouldn’t mind teaching them how to behave.
"Go back, everyone, stay alert tonight," Zhao Ya instructed.
"Yes!"
Zhao Ya also returned to the courtyard and saw Shang Luoluo sticking her head out from the window, "What’s going on outside?"
"Nothing, just a passing convoy," Zhao Ya replied.
"Convoy? Even this late, there’s still a convoy traveling?" Shang Luoluo seemed skeptical.
"Who knows, maybe there’s something urgent," Zhao Ya explained dismissively.
Shang Luoluo could naturally tell Zhao Ya was dodging the question, but since Zhao Ya didn’t want to elaborate, she didn’t press further.
"Hey, come over here for a second!"
She glanced around, seeing no one was paying attention, and as her father Shang Jingchuan wasn’t in the courtyard, she secretly beckoned Zhao Ya over.
"What’s up?" Zhao Ya asked as he approached.
"I can’t seem to fall asleep," Shang Luoluo said.
"What should we do about that? Want me to knock you out? Guaranteed sleep in seconds, quick solution," Zhao Ya joked.
Shang Luoluo: "..."
Then she rolled her eyes dramatically, "You’re doing it on purpose, aren’t you."
Zhao Ya smiled.
Shang Luoluo also grinned, lowering her voice and said, "I secretly hid away a good bottle of wine and a piece of braised lamb liver. Want to join me for a drink?"
"Drinking? Here?"
"Not here, of course. My father lives in the room next door, and Zui’Er is asleep; we can’t disturb them. Why not go upstairs where you usually stay to observe the surroundings?" Shang Luoluo suggested brightly.
Zhao Ya looked at Shang Luoluo strangely and then couldn’t help but tease, "In the middle of the night, going upstairs with me, aren’t you afraid of what I might do?"
Shang Luoluo gave Zhao Ya a coquettish glance, half-smiling, "Well then, I’d really like to see what you’d do."
Zhao Ya found himself at a loss for words.
"Fine, get ready, I’ll come to get you in a bit."
"What’s there to prepare? I’ve packed everything. Let’s go, I can barely wait," Shang Luoluo said with a smile, waving the food box.
Zhao Ya shook his head with a smile, "Looks like you’ve planned this all along."
"Hehe!"
A moment later, up at the courier house.
Though the place was drafty, after downing a cup of wine and enjoying a piece of rich, tender lamb liver, Shang Luoluo couldn’t help but sigh.
"Really nice, it’d be even better if there was a bowl of steaming lamb noodle soup."
Zhao Ya, meanwhile, was observing the situation outside, especially focusing on the convoy camping outside, and replied offhandedly.
"You’re eating so much in the middle of the night, aren’t you afraid of gaining weight?"
"Pfft, I’m naturally beautiful. I won’t gain weight no matter how much I eat," Shang Luoluo retorted, not fond of the word "fat."
"Alright, alright, you’re not fat, you’re not fat, okay?" Zhao Ya didn’t want to argue over this.
He just wanted to quickly finish the wine and escort the young lady of the Shang Mansion back.
To say Zhao Ya had no thoughts whatsoever would be misleading.
After all, Shang Luoluo was stunningly beautiful, her looks rivaling that of Zui’Er.
But her father was downstairs, and if he actually did something, Shang Jingchuan might be chasing him down with a knife by tomorrow.
Right then, Shang Luoluo suddenly started giggling.
"What are you laughing at?" Zhao Ya asked, puzzled.
Shang Luoluo leaned into Zhao Ya’s ear and whispered, her breath fragrant as orchids, "Why does it seem like you’re afraid to look at me?"
Zhao Ya cleared his throat, "Am I? I’m just watching the convoy outside. Hey, have you noticed that this convoy seems quite strange?"
This indeed worked.
Shang Luoluo’s attention quickly shifted, and she began to observe the outside.
"Did you see anything?"
"Yes, it’s a bit odd, this convoy doesn’t have any cargo," Shang Luoluo quickly identified the key detail.
"It’s not that there isn’t cargo, just that the cargo is people instead," Zhao Ya remarked.
"Sounds reasonable. So the so-called young master’s identity is easy to guess. Either he’s from nobility or a prominent family," Shang Luoluo analyzed.
"Why would such a person come here?" Zhao Ya inquired.
"Who knows, maybe bored in the Capital City and out for a trip," Shang Luoluo replied indifferently.
While the two were guessing the young man’s identity in the courier house.
Inside the convoy, the young man sat in the tent, his face tense as water.
"How did a Fifth Realm expert suddenly appear? Could it be related to our outing?" the young man asked intensely.
"Unlikely, as they had already occupied this post before we arrived, it doesn’t seem intentional," said the middle-aged man known as Old Ding.
"Good!" The young man finally let out a breath, then became somewhat annoyed.
"It’s a pity this place is still far from the Capital City, and there’s no one available to use, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to act so rampantly!"
"Master, please don’t be upset. The Capital City isn’t far now, so I hope you can bear it for a while, and we’ll discuss matters once back in the city," Old Ding advised.
