Living Only For Myself: Make Those Who Hate Me Regret It-Chapter 141: Don’t Stare at Me, I Can’t Afford to Provoke Your Boyfriend
Reality was too complicated, and right now, she didn’t want to think about any of it. She just wanted to get drunk and forget everything. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Her movements were so quick that Zhou Mochen couldn’t stop her in time.
By the time he reacted, Xu Su had already taken several gulps.
Zhou Mochen snatched the bottle she was chugging from, pulling her into a tight hug with his other arm. His face darkened. "This has high alcohol content, Xu Su. Aren’t you worried it’ll upset your stomach?"
A bitter smile touched Xu Su’s lips as she reached for the bottle. "Give it to me. I just want to feel what it’s like to be drunk right now. Zhou Mochen, do you really have to control my every move?"
The two of them stood at a stalemate. In the end, it was Shen Chen, still fuming from his earlier encounter with Xu Su, who came to play peacemaker.
"Xu Su, right?" He moved to pat her shoulder, but a cold glare from Zhou Mochen stopped his hand in mid-air. He gave a dry laugh. "That’s not how you drink. If you want to get drunk, that’s easy. How about we play a game? The loser drinks."
’So this is what happens when a guy like him finally falls in love,’ he lamented internally. ’His possessiveness is terrifying.’
Xu Su glanced at Shen Chen. "How do we play?"
Shen Chen looked at Zhou Mochen first. After confirming he had no objections, he asked a waiter for a deck of cards and called over a few other people from the side.
Everyone gathered together and started playing a card game called Tyrant Flower.
The game was simple and direct, based almost entirely on luck.
Xu Su’s luck was pretty good. The first time the ghost card was flipped, she pointed to the three full glasses of red wine on the table and tilted her chin at Shen Chen. "Drink up."
"....." Shen Chen gritted his teeth and drank the three glasses of red wine, having no idea what he’d done to offend her so much that she had to target him like this.
Before long, the ghost card ended up in Zhou Mochen’s hands. He raised an eyebrow and looked at Shen Chen. "Continue."
His readiness to follow Xu Su’s lead made even her own lips twitch.
With a trembling hand, Shen Chen pointed at the two of them. "Putting a girl before your friend!" he cursed, before downing another three glasses.
On the tenth round, the ghost card finally fell into Shen Chen’s hands. He couldn’t hide the flash of delight on his face and immediately pointed at Xu Su. "Your turn to drink."
Xu Su couldn’t have been happier. She was already starting to feel dizzy. The red wine had a strong kick, something her body, currently unaccustomed to alcohol, couldn’t handle.
She grabbed a glass and started to chug, afraid Zhou Mochen would stop her. She even shot him a warning glance.
But instead, she saw Zhou Mochen staring coldly at Shen Chen across from them.
One glass of red wine down, and her stomach started to churn.
As Xu Su prepared to drink the second glass, Zhou Mochen stopped her. He expressionlessly took the glass from her hand and downed it in one go.
Zhou Mochen turned to coax the clearly displeased Xu Su, his eyes gentle. "Susu, be good. Don’t drink anymore. You’ll feel awful if you do."
As he spoke, he immediately picked up the third glass from the table and finished it in one go. Finally, he smiled at Shen Chen.
Shen Chen hadn’t even had time to be surprised at how practiced Zhou Mochen was at coaxing someone before that smile sent a chill down his spine. He quickly announced they were done playing that game.
He then grabbed an empty bottle and suggested a game of Truth or Dare.
The game had only become popular in the last couple of years and was all the rage.
The young people in the private room instantly perked up. Although they were here to ask for a favor, they’d had a few rounds of drinks and weren’t paying much mind to formalities anymore.
The questions they asked grew bolder and bolder.
Shen Chen’s luck was truly terrible; the bottle pointed at him several times in a row. At first, the others were still reserved, unwilling to ask anything too private for fear of offending him. But after they loosened up, the questions became much sharper.
When the bottle pointed at Shen Chen yet again, Xu Su jumped in with a question. "How old were you when you had your ’first time’?"
By now, the alcohol had completely gone to her head, and the question she asked was completely devoid of the shyness expected of a girl her age.
It was so out of character that even Zhou Mochen’s eye twitched. He couldn’t believe this was his little girl’s personality when she was drunk.
The target of the question, Shen Chen, was also put on the spot. He glanced at the alcohol to his side.
Xu Su saw what he was thinking and immediately said, "If you choose dare, you have to drink a whole bottle of red wine. You can hold your liquor, anyway."
In her past life, she had never seen any of this group get drunk, including Zhou Mochen. Their tolerance for alcohol was truly bottomless.
As she thought this, she glanced at Zhou Mochen, just in time to meet his helpless gaze.
In the end, Shen Chen chose to drink. He really did chug an entire bottle of red wine.
Xu Su watched in amazement. "You can actually get embarrassed? What’s so hard to talk about? Given your reputation, there’s no way it happened after you turned eighteen, right?"
Shen Chen put the bottle down. After downing a whole bottle, his expression hadn’t changed. He gave her a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "Why are you so curious about me? Don’t stare at me like that. I can’t afford to provoke your boyfriend."
Xu Su pursed her lips in utter disdain. "Get over yourself. Even if you were the last man on Earth, I wouldn’t be interested in you."
The two engaged in a war of words while those around them were too scared to make a sound. Zhou Mochen’s expression had long since soured.
’He didn’t like it when her attention was focused on anyone but him.’
The game continued. After drinking a whole bottle, Shen Chen’s luck started to improve.
The bottle didn’t point at him again. After landing on a few unfamiliar people nearby, the mouth of the bottle aimed at Zhou Mochen.
His presence was intimidating, so no one dared to ask an outrageous question. Xu Su casually asked, "When did you see me for the first time?"
’She had figured it out long ago. Her belief from her past life—that he had only seen her after moving in across from the Xu Family—was impossible. Given Zhou Mochen’s lifestyle, there was no way he would have moved into the textile factory’s employee housing without a reason. He must have seen her somewhere before that, somewhere she didn’t know about.’
’And their first meeting in this life probably wasn’t at the milk tea shop, either.’
Zhou Mochen seemed surprised she would ask this question. A corner of his lips curved up as he answered without hiding anything. "In August of the year before last. At the textile factory. You were probably bringing a meal to your dad."
"...!" Xu Su was shocked. ’So it really was that early.’
’There was no way to guard against that!’
’So, I was wrong from the very beginning. If I had wanted to avoid Zhou Mochen, I never should have brought meals to Xu Weiping!’
’I should have been reborn a few days earlier. I could have just gone to high school in Kang County. There’s no way Zhou Mochen would have shown up in Kang County for no reason.’
Shen Chen also exclaimed, "What a beast!" Looking at the girl, she couldn’t have been more than seventeen or eighteen the year before last.
The game continued, and for the first time, the bottle pointed at Xu Su.
Shen Chen’s eyes lit up. He sat up straight and returned the question in kind. "How old were you for your first time?"
Zhou Mochen paused, about to speak, but Xu Su cut him off.
The alcohol had gone to her head. Not the least bit unhappy about being asked such a personal question and perfectly willing to accept the stakes of the game, she replied quickly, "Don’t know yet."
Shen Chen raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Xu Su was filled with disdain. "Are you stupid? You can’t understand what that means?"
Xu Su was very pretty. Her features had long since matured, losing the childishness she had when she was first reborn. Coupled with her growth spurt over the past two years, she looked like a college student.
Therefore, the meaning behind her words made Shen Chen, along with everyone else, fall silent.
Then, all of their eyes shifted to Zhou Mochen.
