Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 96: Mutual Exchange
Both livestream rooms are buzzing with discussion. Some support Xu Yi and Wang Jin collaborating, while others are opposed to it.
For the audience in Room 77, Wang Jin and her group aren’t doing too well. They often can’t get meat and have to rely on wild vegetables to solve their hunger problems.
On Xu Yi’s side, not only have they stocked up on a lot of jerky, but they also made many pottery items.
If they were to collaborate with Lu Yao and Wang Jin, it would definitely hold them back.
More accurately, it would be Wang Jin who holds them back. After all, Lu Yao is a female special ops soldier, with strong survival skills and high combat ability.
While they were discussing, Wang Jin and Lu Yao had already arrived beside Xu Yi.
"Hey, where’s your teammate, why are you alone?" Wang Jin excitedly asked, finally meeting a third person besides her cousin, and it seemed he was quite a nice guy.
"Hello, my companion is over there at the beach catching crabs, about an hour’s walk from here." Xu Yi pointed then observed Wang Jin and Lu Yao.
Both were stunning beauties, so Xu Yi couldn’t help but take another look.
Wang Jin seemed non-threatening, with a smile on her face.
Lu Yao, on the other hand, looked very wary, seemingly quite aggressive.
"Is it a guy or a girl? Is your camp nearby?" Wang Jin asked happily, feeling that having just two people in the wilderness was too boring, especially since Lu Yao doesn’t chat much.
"A girl. Our camp is quite far from here, several hours’ walk away." Xu Yi said with a smile. He had no need to show any hostility.
After all, there were currently no conflicts of interest.
Even if there were, they would likely have to coexist peacefully for the next hundred days.
"Our camp is about the same. This beach is too poor, not much seafood at all. By the way, my name is Wang Jin, what’s yours?" Wang Jin still remembered her cousin’s advice, so she didn’t step forward to shake hands with Xu Yi.
"I’m Xu Yi, and my companion is named Lu Ke. She would definitely be happy to know you." Xu Yi sensed Wang Jin had a friendly aura, thinking Lu Ke would likely enjoy befriending her.
"Oh, Lu Ke. Sis, she’s got the same last name as you, just one word off." Wang Jin turned her head and said to Lu Yao, then looked back at Xu Yi and laughed, "Lu Ke must be your girlfriend, right?"
"Uh, no, we’re just friends." Xu Yi explained, as currently, he and Lu Ke were indeed just friends.
Wang Jin paused for a moment, then tactfully changed the topic, pulling Lu Yao closer and said, "Lu Yao, my cousin. Nice to meet you in this alien world. Here, we’re fellow countrymen."
"Yes, encountering fellow countrymen isn’t easy." Xu Yi nodded, a bit surprised as he extended his hand to shake Lu Yao’s.
"Can I take a look at your bow?" Lu Yao asked Xu Yi, looking at him.
Xu Yi nodded, not really afraid Lu Yao would snatch his bow away.
So, Xu Yi handed the bow over.
Lu Yao took the bow and found it surprisingly light.
She pulled it, let go, and heard a twang sound.
"Nice bow." Lu Yao returned the bow to Xu Yi, then turned her gaze to the small mound of salt at Xu Yi’s waist. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Is that sea salt?" Lu Yao pointed to Xu Yi’s little pile of salt and asked.
"Yes, this is a natural salt pool, and these crystals are all salt." Xu Yi admitted directly, as even if he didn’t, they would find out themselves.
"Then can we take some back?" Wang Jin asked excitedly, since boiling sea salt was too troublesome and took a lot of time.
"Of course, it’s nature’s bounty, anyone who comes across it can take some." Xu Yi smiled slightly. He couldn’t very well claim the salt pool as his own and ask for something in exchange, could he?
"Thank you." Lu Yao looked at Xu Yi, her icy demeanor melting a little.
"You’re welcome, I didn’t really help." Xu Yi said, glancing up at his tracking drone.
Lu Yao caught on immediately and nodded at Xu Yi.
"Xu Yi, are you guys living well?" Wang Jin asked, noticing Xu Yi didn’t look too bad and didn’t seem particularly thin, feeling his days should be pretty comfortable.
"Not bad, at least we haven’t gone hungry. How about you guys? You should be doing okay, right?" Xu Yi nodded at Wang Jin.
"We’ve occasionally gone hungry, but it’s alright, just counts as dieting." Wang Jin said, rubbing her stomach, as she hadn’t eaten lunch yet today.
"By the way, how old are you? You look pretty young." Thinking they couldn’t help each other, Wang Jin immediately shifted the topic.
"Nineteen," Xu Yi answered truthfully.
"Wow, same age as me, what a coincidence." Wang Jin looked at Xu Yi with some surprise, not expecting him to be of her favorite type and the same age.
Many girls like guys a bit older, saying they’re more mature than themselves.
However, Wang Jin felt being old doesn’t necessarily mean mature. She preferred guys her age and mature, finding them more charming than older ones.
"It really is a coincidence." Xu Yi also agreed with this.
"After a hundred days, we should have a chance to cooperate, right? I think cooperating is better than attacking each other, right?" Wang Jin couldn’t help but glance at Xu Yi.
Surviving until now meant Xu Yi and his team weren’t weak.
Especially after so many days of rain, Xu Yi still looked in good shape. Such a team was worth collaborating with.
If they were antagonistic, it would be a headache.
After all, Xu Yi had a Hunting Bow.
Earlier, her cousin Lu Yao also said it was a good bow.
This meant Xu Yi’s archery skills couldn’t be too bad.
So, Wang Jin still thought cooperation was better.
"If there’s an opportunity, sure. I also think cooperation is better than opposition because only by combining three groups can we have the strength to contend with another group." Xu Yi said, glancing at Lu Yao.
He had a feeling Lu Yao was a military person, and a very strong one at that.
"Do you also think after a hundred days, groups will clash?" Silent Lu Yao glanced at Xu Yi, her gaze changing a bit.
"Have you received any tasks?" Xu Yi looked at Lu Yao.
Lu Yao shook her head, her eyes fixed on Xu Yi.
"We received a territory task asking me to eliminate the lead wolf in the area. So, as long as the organizers issue corresponding tasks, we and other challengers will naturally become opponents. Of course, I personally hope this situation doesn’t occur. After all, on this planet, we’re the same kind." Xu Yi said, glancing down at his Star Chart.
Time was almost up, he had to go.
Otherwise, Lu Ke over there would get anxious.
