Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 288: The Taken Giant Husky
"So, is this Giant Wolf really not a problem?"
A cold voice emanated from the white protective armor. It sounded like a female voice, gentle in tone.
The Giant Wolf lay on a metal bed, seemingly unconscious.
"No problem, its brain is normal, no abnormalities detected." Another ’person’, also wearing a fully isolating protective suit, said, though his suit was gray.
"So, it’s okay for Unit 77 to tame it?" the person in the white suit continued to ask.
"The test results don’t show anything, but due to the planet’s influence, our testing instruments might be faulty. Even Unit 77’s machete didn’t detect anything." The person in the gray suit explained.
"Then it’s not our problem. We’ve followed the procedure. After all, we can’t interfere too much. Since there’s no issue, let’s send it back." The person in the white suit remarked.
"Sir, are we really going to start sending people to Planet 1? These humans haven’t even survived 100 days on Planet 2. Will it cause losses to our elites?" the person in the gray suit asked with some doubt.
"That’s the decision from above, not for us to question. Besides, we are stronger than humans, and the mysterious factor on Planet 1 is even denser, which will make us stronger. Only by being strong can we take revenge. Time is incredibly valuable to us. In at most a hundred years, that civilization will find us."
"But why doesn’t the upper echelon send people to Planet 2? After all, humans have survived on the safe island for at least 77 days. Our people should also be able to quickly adapt, then become stronger, conquer Planet 2, and establish a base on it." The person in the gray suit said.
"You lack the clearance to know this, but there are three large squads already improving themselves on Planet 2. Alright, let’s send the Giant Wolf back. Once humans grow stronger, they can become our allies, and we shouldn’t treat these human pioneers poorly." The person in the white suit said and then left the area.
The person in the gray suit patted the head of the Giant Wolf and muttered to himself, "If that’s the case, why impose those restrictions on them? If they could form teams, there’d be fewer eliminations. Moreover, if humans can’t complete the challenge, they won’t gain access to the Star Gate. How could they become our allies?"
"If they can’t even complete this challenge, it shows they’re unfit to survive on Planet 2, let alone be our allies. They wouldn’t even qualify as cannon fodder." The voice of the person in the white suit sounded again.
The person in the gray suit nodded, then carried the Giant Wolf into another space.
After a flash of white light, the Giant Wolf disappeared.
The Giant Wolf appeared on a beach, waking up in a daze.
It looked around for a while and then caught the scent of two familiar smells.
There were footprints of Xu Yi and Lu Ke on the beach, so it followed the scent and started running.
"It’s the Giant Wolf! Xu Yi, look, over there." Lu Ke spotted the Giant Wolf in the distance and yelled excitedly.
Xu Yi looked over and indeed saw the figure of the Giant Wolf.
The Giant Wolf probably heard Lu Ke’s call and began sprinting faster.
After a while, it ran up to Xu Yi and Lu Ke, wagging its tail like a large dog, trying to please them.
"You still remember to come back; I thought you’d defected." Xu Yi looked at the Giant Wolf, saying happily.
Losing the Giant Wolf would have been a significant loss for them.
Moreover, it was the first animal Xu Yi had successfully tamed, so he had a special feeling for it.
The Giant Wolf rubbed its head against Xu Yi, expressing its affection for him.
The two of them, along with the Giant Wolf, returned to the Salt Pool. It was still excited to see the reindeer again, but Lu Ke held it back, preventing any trouble.
The reindeer was tied up and couldn’t bite through the reins, so even though it was afraid of the Giant Wolf, it was helpless.
By then, it was already six o’clock, and Xu Yi and Lu Ke gathered some firewood before coming back to cook crabs and shells.
There was still not much wind by the sea, so they could sleep peacefully by the shore.
Sitting by the campfire, Lu Ke wrapped herself in a fur coat.
The temperature by the sea was a bit lower than in the forest, and just relying on the coat without a fire would still feel a bit chilly.
With not much to do at night, the two chatted the whole evening away.
Because there weren’t many trees, this beach didn’t have many wild animals, and naturally, not much danger either.
By late at night, the two fell asleep near the fire.
Lu Ke had the Giant Wolf beside her, so she definitely wouldn’t get cold.
The next day, when Xu Yi woke up, Lu Ke was practicing Fighting Techniques by the sea.
Xu Yi glanced at the Giant Wolf lying not far from him, and then said in his mind, "System, check in."
After completing the 83rd day of check-in, Xu Yi got up and joined the training.
After training, the two ate some jerky, fed some to the Giant Wolf, and then placed the bamboo basket on the Giant Wolf’s back.
"Xu Yi, do you think the Giant Wolf can carry me?" Lu Ke asked worriedly, given that the Giant Wolf was already carrying over a hundred pounds of sea salt.
"It should be fine; give it a try. If not, we’ll figure something else out." Xu Yi replied, sensing it should be no problem.
Lu Ke nodded, then climbed onto the Giant Wolf.
The Giant Wolf looked back at Lu Ke, then started walking.
Xu Yi mounted the reindeer, following behind Lu Ke and the Giant Wolf in case of any sudden situations.
As it turned out, the Giant Wolf could easily carry over two hundred pounds without much impact on its speed.
Xu Yi also carried a load himself, with nearly a hundred pounds of sea salt, and the reindeer didn’t show signs of struggle either.
By three in the afternoon, the two returned to camp.
Along the way, they rested four times.
After all, carrying so much was a significant test of endurance for both the Giant Wolf and the reindeer.
Xu Yi and Lu Ke didn’t want their hard-tamed mounts to be worn out.
Back at camp, Xu Yi and Lu Ke both breathed a sigh of relief.
Da Bai and the other reindeer were fine, staying calmly in the pen with no signs of attack.
This indicated that the tigers hadn’t visited their camp yesterday or today.
After unloading the salt, Xu Yi and Lu Ke picked up their baskets and went to cut grass for feed. After all, both Da Bai and the other reindeer hadn’t eaten in almost two days.
They hadn’t cut for long when they heard the roar of tigers, causing their faces to change.
Just when they thought the tiger threat was over, the tigers unexpectedly appeared quickly.
