Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 277: The Fierce Beast Xu Yi Fears
"Don’t move."
Just as Xu Yi was preparing to shoot the bow and arrow in his hand, he suddenly turned his head and said to Lu Ke.
Because he smelled an odor, a very strong odor, not the scent of the Tree Sheep.
Lu Ke glanced at Xu Yi, somewhat puzzled.
A Tree Sheep is worth 2 points, doesn’t Xu Yi want it?
"Climb the tree, there are other animals lurking nearby." Xu Yi said, pointing to a tree entwined with vines beside him.
He wasn’t sure what kind of animal it was, so it was better to be cautious.
Lu Ke nodded, put away her crossbow, then took off her backpack, and proceeded to climb the tree.
Lu Ke had an advantage: she could carry out Xu Yi’s instructions without questioning them.
Holding the bow in hand, Xu Yi listened after he saw Lu Ke climb the tree.
Thump, thump, thump.
The powerful heartbeat indicated a large beast was lurking around.
At least, it had a big heart.
After locking the position, Xu Yi began to move.
He felt the creature lurking there was the big catch, likely worth more than 4 points. So choosing it was the right thing to do.
Lu Ke nervously watched Xu Yi, knowing he must have discovered something to ask her to climb the tree.
Suddenly, a massive dark figure lunged forward, charging directly at Xu Yi.
Clearly, it spotted Xu Yi and locked onto him.
"Damn!"
Xu Yi cursed, then immediately shot the arrow.
He really didn’t expect this giant beast to be lurking here.
"Lu Ke, don’t come down, stay put until I come back for you." Xu Yi shouted, then ran off in another direction.
He couldn’t let the beast see Lu Ke, so he had to run another way.
"My God, Xu Yi’s so unlucky to encounter this terrifying beast."
"If it catches Xu Yi, will it rip him apart directly?"
"It’s over, there’s probably no chance for Xu Yi to escape this time."
"Such a gigantic animal, shouldn’t be fast... Damn, it’s faster than Xu Yi..."
"Oh no, it’s really over this time."
"It’ll catch up to Xu Yi within minutes, what should he do?"
"Absolutely can’t be caught, better to abandon it rather than get caught!!!!"
"Xu Yi, run fast, hurry up!"
"No way to outrun, quickly give up, quickly!"
"Xu Yi, you can’t die, you can’t, I still want to marry you."
"Someone save Xu Yi, hurry up."
The live viewers were all worried for Xu Yi, having seen the fierce beast’s power. If Xu Yi got caught, the outcome would certainly be tragic.
Xu Yi turned to look, feeling the sound coming closer.
"Damn."
Seeing the distance was less than ten meters, Xu Yi’s heart sank.
Picking up speed, he prepared to start dodging.
He could only bet the opponent wasn’t as agile, couldn’t match its speed.
"Roar."
The creature let out a bear-like growl, then crouched down and sprinted on all fours, speeding up even more.
Xu Yi just felt a gust of wind sweep past behind him, shocking him. He twisted his body forcefully and leapt behind a tree.
Boom!
The beast’s massive paw slammed into the tree, knocking a chunk of bark flying.
Xu Yi thought if that paw had slammed into his head, it would have smashed his bones.
The beast seemed to have hurt its paw, yelled in pain, then lunged toward Xu Yi again.
Xu Yi had already dashed away, giving it no chance.
He felt a bit relieved; he had bet correctly, the opponent wasn’t as agile.
This way, there was still an opportunity to shake off the opponent and escape smoothly.
The viewers all sighed in relief seeing this.
They had thought Xu Yi was doomed for sure.
But, Xu Yi had used his advantage to avoid a deadly crisis.
The giant beast shook its head, its eyes blood-red.
It felt Xu Yi had tricked it.
So, it immediately charged again, preparing to hit Xu Yi with a stronger attack.
Its speed was a bit faster than Xu Yi’s, so after Xu Yi dashed out, it could catch up quickly.
But, just as it was about to catch Xu Yi, he’d always manage to make use of the trees to make the beast miss.
The more this happened, the angrier the beast got, wanting to tear Xu Yi apart even more.
Time ticked away, viewers noticed the beast’s speed slowing down, as was Xu Yi’s.
Now, it depended on who had more endurance.
If Xu Yi had stronger endurance, he’d surely not let the beast escape.
If the beast had more endurance, Xu Yi couldn’t escape being torn apart or forced to abandon the challenge.
Lu Ke had already climbed down the tree, the Tree Sheep had run away when the beast appeared.
Roaring sounds echoed from the forest now and then.
After nearly an hour of struggle, Lu Ke felt she couldn’t wait any longer.
She shouldered her backpack and ran toward the source of the sound.
She felt she couldn’t let Xu Yi fight alone.
Live together, die together: that’s what a team should be like.
Lu Ke sprinted fast, within ten minutes, she saw the figures of Xu Yi and the beast.
Estimate, Xu Yi didn’t even know the distance between him and Lu Ke was so close.
Lu Ke took a look, noticed the beast’s speed wasn’t fast. She put down the backpack, removed the Arrow Quiver and crossbow, all things influencing speed were placed in the backpack, and she darted out.
Holding only a dagger in her hand.
It took Lu Ke less than five minutes to accelerate and reach the beast’s side.
Then, she slashed the dagger across the beast’s flank.
Moving very swiftly, after slashing, Lu Ke turned and ran, no pause at all.
The beast screamed in pain, immediately turning to pounce on Lu Ke.
"Xu Yi, attack the flank, I just cut open its flesh!" Lu Ke shouted, not turning back. She only had one thought, to run.
After all, the beast’s stamina had been drained a lot by Xu Yi, slowing its speed.
For Lu Ke, who was full of energy, she still had a significant edge.
Xu Yi glanced back, then stopped.
Running for nearly an hour of sprint-like escape had already exhausted eighty percent of Xu Yi’s stamina, the rest was fueled by willpower.
Midway, if Xu Yi hadn’t used a few Binding Skills, he would have been hurt already.
Lu Ke managed to slice open the beast’s flank?
So, it should be injured and bleeding, right?
Given Lu Ke’s speed and stamina at present, she shouldn’t be caught quickly, right?
Then, should I rest for a few minutes to recover stamina, or risk everything, charge directly to kill that beast?
