Lu Ke didn’t follow but went to dig some clay instead.

A large water tank would be needed to meet that requirement.

An hour later, Xu Yi returned with six large bundles of branches, complete with leaves. Burning them would produce a lot of smoke.

"Let’s smoke them in the earthen kiln to increase the efficiency of the smoke," Xu Yi suggested.

"Yes, that’s better. It won’t smoke us out," Lu Ke nodded, then turned to fetch the sheep skins.

Next, Xu Yi climbed onto the restroom roof, covering the top with hay, extending it all the way to the eaves on the left side.

After covering it, Xu Yi also put hay over the septic tank.

Due to last night’s thunderstorm, there was still quite a bit of water in the septic tank.

Once everything was done, the entire morning had passed.

After lunch, Xu Yi still needed to build the fence around the restroom.

The space reserved for the restroom was over ten square meters, not at all small.

"Xu Yi, your method really works. The skins have softened a lot," Lu Ke called out while removing the sheep skin from its rack. It was no longer stiff, but rather pliable.

Xu Yi had returned to work on the restroom because he saw Lu Ke dealing with the skins.

"Alright, I’m coming," Xu Yi replied, securing the umbrella tree skin to the post to hold the hay in place.

Now, both of them had stools and could sit at the table for lunch.

On the table, there were not only slices of wolf meat and hot water but also a large plate of grapes.

Actually, there were still plenty of grapes left, probably about ten pounds.

Limited by pottery availability, not all the grapes could be used for winemaking.

"Later, I’ll go pick some houttuynia. It’s been days without vegetables," Lu Ke said while eating.

Going without vegetables was causing constipation. So, she must get some houttuynia to eat. Also, she should eat more grapes.

"Alright, be careful," Xu Yi nodded, agreeing. The houttuynia was not far away, and most of the trees in that area had been chopped by Xu Yi, making it a more open and less dangerous space.

After all, this area was wolf territory, but the wolves had been dealt with by Xu Yi and Lu Ke, except for one that had escaped. It wouldn’t dare bother Lu Ke or Xu Yi again.

"Of course, I’m no longer a helpless girl," Lu Ke said, grinning at Xu Yi. Xu Yi’s trust in her skill level, allowing her to go alone, made her very happy.

"Indeed, even the alpha wolf can be taken down. But still, be cautious and don’t be careless," Xu Yi reminded her. Today marked the 24th day, and he indeed could let Lu Ke gain some independence.
