Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 178: Try Dating for Once
As Stella Grant finished speaking, there was a long silence from Kenneth Grant on the other end of the phone.
After a while, he spoke in a deep voice, his tone mixed with displeasure and disbelief, "Is this your idea or your mother’s?"
Stella replied calmly, "Does it make a difference?"
Her question threw Kenneth Grant back into silence.
A few seconds later, Kenneth hung up the phone.
Hearing silence from the phone, Stella moved it from her ear to look at the screen, considering redialing, when Kenneth sent a text: I’ll be back the day after tomorrow.
Perhaps to avoid Stella bothering him again in the meantime, he added: If there’s anything, let’s talk in person. It’s inconvenient for me to take calls.
Inconvenient to take calls?
Seeing Kenneth’s message, Stella’s lips curled into a slight sneer.
If this man weren’t her biological father, she would really want to reply with two words: shameless.
By the time Stella returned to the apartment complex by taxi, Silas Sutton was already awake.
Carrying breakfast, Stella opened the door and the first sight she saw was Silas standing by the window, dressed in only a pair of suit pants, gazing at the scenery.
Lynn Adler’s place is in an old building, and the windows aren’t floor-to-ceiling. Silas stood with his hands on the windowsill, his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs exuding an aura of raw masculinity.
Hearing the door open, Silas didn’t turn around; instead, he asked casually, "Did you grow up here?"
Stella placed the breakfast on the entryway cabinet and changed into slippers, "No."
When she was a child, The Grant Corporation was thriving, and they lived in a villa in the center of Brynnfield.
Silas’s long fingers tapped lightly on the windowsill, seemingly triggering a memory, "Hmm."
After that, Silas paused and then asked, "Stella, what’s over there?"
Stella looked up at him, "Where?"
Silas said, "Come over."
Silas’s voice was low and indifferent, leaving Stella without suspicion. She put the breakfast from the entryway cabinet onto the dining table, then walked toward him, "Hmm?"
Silas turned around, stared at her for a few seconds, then extended his big hand, wrapped it around her waist, pulling her into his arms, "Went to see your aunt?"
Silas rested his chin on Stella’s shoulder, and his breath blew warmly against her earlobe as he spoke.
Stella’s earlobe grew warm, "Hmm."
Silas chuckled lightly, "Stella, you’re really something."
Silas said this with an air of arrogance, prompting Stella to turn her head to look at him.
Silas raised an eyebrow as their eyes met, "What? You think I’m being vulgar?"
Stella pursed her lips and turned back, as if explaining or narrating, "I went to her not about yesterday’s incident at the hospital but for something else."
Silas pressed her shoulder and laughed quietly, "In all my life, I’ve never seen a woman as bold as you."
Stella understood he was referring to her hitting Lily Harrison at the hospital yesterday. Her delicate, fair fingers brushed away a stray lock of hair by her ear, "How many women have you met?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
Silas lowered his eyes to her, helping her tuck the stray hair behind her ear, "Don’t you often say my name’s in tabloid stories all the time? Quite a few."
Stella, "..."
As Silas finished speaking, a quiet descended between them.
After a long time, with Stella standing there almost growing stiff, Silas suddenly spoke in a low voice, "Stella, why don’t we try dating each other?"
Upon hearing this, Stella’s brows furrowed, her whole body tensing.
Silas continued, "You’d have complete control. Break it off whenever you want, or keep going as long as you like."
