Ling Tian Sword God-Chapter 782 - 780 Sudden Incident_1
Leaving the secret chamber where the Immortal Sword Jade Wall was located, Ling Chen and his companions arrived at a place called Anle Town. Anle Town was situated on the northeastern border of Yi Zhou, adjacent to Jingzhou. After three days of grueling travel, the four of them decided to rest temporarily in the town.
They found lodging at the largest inn in town. In a beautifully decorated room, a graceful figure lay on the bed. With a stunning face that could topple cities, it was unmistakably Xia Yunxin.
Beside the bed, Ling Chen gazed at Xia Yunxin’s face. His feelings were rather complicated.
His purpose in coming to the Nine Provinces Land this time was twofold: while he aimed to pursue a stronger path in Martial Arts, his other major goal was to find a cure for Xia Yunxin. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
Becoming embroiled in the conflict surrounding the Sword Immortal Poetry had been unintentional. He hadn’t expected to become so deeply entangled that extricating himself would prove difficult.
Now that they had left Yi Zhou and evaded the Tang Sect’s pursuit, Ling Chen planned to settle down and search for a way to awaken Xia Yunxin.
If the Barbarian High Priest in the Wildlands could use the Soul Returning Technique to restore Xia Yunxin’s three souls and seven spirits, surely there had to be someone in the vast Nine Provinces who also knew this technique, right?
Even if the Soul Returning Technique wasn’t available, there had to be other methods.
「Meanwhile, in another room」
Shen Qianlang and Luo Xian’er appeared to be discussing something.
"Now that we’ve left Yi Zhou, who knows how long it will take to revive the Sect. And the Tang Sect won’t let us off the hook either," Shen Qianlang said, his expression solemn. He then took out a manuscript. "These are the incantations and stances of the Green Lotus Sword Song that Ling Chen transcribed. He’s given them to me. As long as we study and practice diligently, we’ll definitely be able to take revenge one day."
"Is Brother Ling Chen going to part ways with us?" Luo Xian’er looked at Shen Qianlang in surprise.
Shen Qianlang shook his head. "Brother Ling Chen is going to find a cure for Miss Xia. He already said that once Miss Xia awakens, he will fully support us in restoring the Sect."
"Miss Xia is comatose, and it’s said her soul is lost. How could she possibly awaken? This is likely just an excuse Brother Ling Chen made to appease us. He intends to leave." Luo Xian’er’s pretty face fell. Without Ling Chen’s help, they had no hope of restoring the Sect.
Shen Qianlang fell silent, unsure how to respond. It seemed Ling Chen couldn’t help them this time. Even if it was an excuse, he had already done what was expected of him. Some things couldn’t be forced. Besides, what right did they have to expect an outsider to sacrifice for their Sect?
"I’m going to find him." Luo Xian’er suddenly bit her red lip, a determined gleam in her clear, beautiful eyes. Then, she turned and pushed open the door, exiting the room.
"Junior Sister!" Shen Qianlang moved to stop her, but Luo Xian’er had already left the room; he was a moment too late.
KNOCK, KNOCK!
In his room, while Ling Chen was still contemplating his next move, a knock suddenly sounded at the door. Luo Xian’er’s gentle voice then drifted in.
"Please come in." Ling Chen was somewhat surprised to see Luo Xian’er visiting so late and quickly responded.
CREAK.
The door was pushed open, and moonlight spilled in through the opening. A graceful figure then entered, stepping into the moonbeams that illuminated the room.
Ling Chen looked at Luo Xian’er as she entered, and was momentarily stunned. A flicker of amazement, or perhaps admiration, crossed his eyes.
Luo Xian’er had clearly taken pains with her appearance. She wore a light blue gown over a purple under-robe. Her features were as picturesque as a painting, her skin like snow, and her soft, dark hair cascaded to her slender waist. Complemented by her slightly flushed cheeks, illuminated by the moonlight, she looked exceptionally beautiful and captivating.
Under Ling Chen’s gaze, the blush on Luo Xian’er’s pretty cheeks deepened. She closed the door behind her, her jade-like hands holding a neatly folded stack of clothes.
"Miss Luo, is there something urgent?" Ling Chen cleared his throat, feeling a little awkward. A man and a woman, alone in a room this late at night... it seemed rather improper.
"Brother Ling Chen, you’ve taken such good care of me and Senior Brother these past few days. I haven’t had a chance to thank you properly. I’ve sewn some new clothes for you." Luo Xian’er placed the neatly folded clothes on the table. Her voice was gentle, and she didn’t immediately withdraw.
Luo Xian’er lowered her head slightly. In the glow of the lamplight, her pretty face felt as hot as fire.
"Oh?" Ling Chen was momentarily taken aback, then looked at Luo Xian’er. "Miss Luo, if you have something to say, please speak freely."
Hearing this, Luo Xian’er’s delicate body stiffened slightly. Her face still lowered, she remained silent for a moment before softly saying, "Brother Ling Chen, I know you’ve already helped us immensely—you’ve truly done more than enough. But I still need to ask for your help. Please, help me."
In the quiet room, a delicate fragrance wafted through the air as the young woman’s voice, tinged with melancholy, drifted softly.
"My mother passed away when I was young, so my father and the elders of Qingcheng Palace raised me. Qingcheng Palace was their life’s work. No matter what, I cannot let it be erased from the Martial World. I must restore our Sect. But with only Senior Brother’s strength and mine, we simply don’t see any hope..."
Luo Xian’er bit her red lip gently, mist gathering in her eyes. Her soft voice sounded incredibly helpless and sorrowful.
"I never said I wouldn’t help you. I only said that this matter requires careful consideration..." Ling Chen felt somewhat helpless. He had only said he needed to awaken Xia Yunxin first; it didn’t mean he wouldn’t help Luo Xian’er and her Senior Brother restore Qingcheng Palace afterward.
"Brother Ling Chen, if you help me restore Qingcheng Palace, Xian’er is willing to become your servant, your handmaiden! I’ll do anything you ask!" Luo Xian’er gazed at Ling Chen’s calm expression, took a deep breath, and then her jade-like fingers lightly untied her sash. The robe slid down, and in an instant, her flawless, jade-like body was completely revealed in the closed room.
This sudden turn of events shattered the composure on Ling Chen’s face. He stared, utterly dumbfounded, at the perfect, snow-white body before him.
Luo Xian’er’s figure exuded a youthful aura; she was tall yet voluptuous. Her willow-like waist was slender enough to be encircled by a hand, her skin as smooth and delicate as snow and jade—truly a peerless beauty.
"Miss Xian’er, there’s no need to demean yourself like this." Gazing at the almost flawless jade-like body before him, Ling Chen took a deep breath and forcibly averted his eyes, his voice somewhat hoarse.
Just as Ling Chen’s words fell, he heard a very faint, low sob. Startled, he looked at Luo Xian’er’s face and saw her long eyelashes trembling, as teardrops traced paths down her tender cheeks.
"I know what I’m doing is shameless, but I have no other way... Brother Ling Chen, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry..."
Just as Luo Xian’er was sobbing uncontrollably, a picture of tear-stained beauty, she suddenly felt a warmth envelop her. A wide, thick outer robe had been draped over her shoulders.
It was Ling Chen’s. He had taken off his own outer robe and put it around her.
"When I promise something, I always keep my word." Ling Chen patted Luo Xian’er’s shoulder. "Your father’s spirit in heaven wouldn’t want to see you like this. He would want you to live well."
"Qingcheng Palace will be restored one day. However, right now, we lack the strength to confront the Tang Sect. When we have that strength, that will be the day Qingcheng Palace is rebuilt. I swear it." Ling Chen looked at Luo Xian’er with sincerity.
"Mm." Luo Xian’er blinked, and a smile finally broke through her tears.
"You should get dressed first. It would be troublesome if someone were to barge in now," Ling Chen said, coughing lightly. In her current state, if Shen Qianlang were to see her, he might misunderstand and think I’d done something to his Junior Sister. I wouldn’t be able to clear my name even if I jumped into the Yellow River.
"Brother Ling Chen, please don’t tell my Senior Brother about what happened tonight." After Luo Xian’er had put her clothes back on, she turned to Ling Chen and said, somewhat abashedly.
"Don’t worry. As far as I’m concerned, tonight never happened." Ling Chen nodded. Spreading this around would only cause more trouble for me, and I have enough of that already.
