Limitless Summoner: Rise of the Soul God-Chapter 153: I found you
While the various top academies were in a complete uproar, Ethan tried to make his best innocent face. Not that anyone was buying what he was selling.
The old hag unceremoniously grabbed him by the collar and tossed him on the living room floor. "The world outside is not a safe place. It is a big bad place with a lot of big bad wolves. They only need a whiff and they will gobble you up whole. Do you not know how to act in the public? How stupid can you be to actually break dungeon records?!"
Lia nervously tried to support him. "Miss Agnes, please master did not-"

The old hag shot Lia a glare that quickly made her shut up. "I know that, girl. But ignorance won't save him forever. Especially not when he's running around setting fires everywhere he goes. I thought you were already a paranoid maniac so why did you make this blunder?"
Ethan shifted his feet, a little ashamed. Trouble seemed drawn to him like a magnet, no matter how carefully he trod. "I'm sorry. Things got complicated."
If he knew and understood more about the dungeons and the grand dungeon hall, this problem would have never happened but his time was cut short once again and he had to run and hide once again.
But ultimately there were all excuses that he would be making for himself and he did not want to do that. He needed to do better. He knew he needed to do better. He grit his teeth in frustration.
The old woman sighed, eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "Complicated is putting it mildly. People are asking questions—dangerous people. Your anonymity in the system might keep you safe for now, but there are other ways to track someone if they're determined enough."
That sent a chill down Ethan's spine. He'd suspected it, but hearing it confirmed made the threat feel even more real. "Then should I leave? Where will you go?"
The hag snorted, crossing her arms. "Running blindly will just make things worse. Give me a day or two to sort out this mess you've made. I have to officially take you in as a disciple but that should settle everything. For now, sit your troublesome self down and don't cause any more disasters. Is that clear?"
"Crystal," Ethan replied sheepishly.
"Good," she huffed, finally relenting. "There might be some good coming out from all this nonsense. Now you can officially attend an academy and learn everything the way you are supposed to learn. I will sort out all the mess for you and wipe your ass clean, you stinking brat. So you can head upstairs and take a good break."
Ethan nodded gratefully. He truly appreciated everything that she was doing for him. He did not think that the old hag was going to back him up even in the worst case scenario. But everything was resolved now and he did not have any energy left in him to care about anything else.
The next time he needed to be more careful. There were apparently hidden traps waiting for him all over his world. Fucking dungeon records! Ethan cursed under his breath and stepped into the small attic room.
He collapsed onto the bed and Lia and Luna dropped right beside him, all of them too tired to do anything. Ethan felt a little restless and couldn't go to sleep immediately but the other two were already snoring gently.
He smiled and shook his head. He did not think that he would somehow make a life for himself in this new world. He was only thinking about survival and the next day but somehow he now had a small family that he very much loved.
Their peaceful faces helped ease the lingering anxiety that still tugged at the back of his mind.
He'd come a long way from the helpless, confused soul who first stumbled into this world. Despite all the chaos, threats, and near-death experiences, he'd managed to carve out a small pocket of peace and even happiness.
Ethan glanced sideways at Luna, who was curled up tightly next to him like a small kitten, her face serene and carefree. Lia was gently gripping his sleeve in her sleep, as if instinctively afraid he'd vanish if she let go.
Everything was fine. Ethan reassured himself of that again and again. He was growing stronger every day, and soon—soon enough—he'd have the power he needed to shield Luna and Lia from whatever darkness the world might throw their way. He just needed a little more time.
He rolled onto his side, gazing out of the small attic window. Sleep eluded him, replaced by restless thoughts that churned like an endless storm in his mind. Outside, the night sky mirrored his turmoil.
Dark clouds had begun to gather ominously, cloaking the stars and blanketing the city in an eerie shadow. Thunder growled softly in the distance, a harbinger of the approaching storm.
Ethan closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to settle his nerves, but something felt off. The air suddenly felt heavy and suffocating. His heart quickened. When he opened his eyes again, his blood ran cold and he froze in utter shock.
Right outside his window, staring at him was a face. A face both beautiful and haunting, framed by flowing silver hair that gleamed even in the darkness and a pair of blood-red eyes, glowing fiercely, staring at him with pure malice.
Her lips curled into a chilling smile as she whispered softly, but the words were crystal clear. "I found you."
Ethan jolted upright, adrenaline spiking through his veins. Before he could shout, move, or even breathe, the entire world exploded in white-hot brilliance.
A blinding flash seared his vision, and pain surged through every inch of his body, tearing at him as though he were being ripped apart from within. He tried to scream, but the agony stole his breath away. His thoughts splintered, reality fracturing into pieces.
