The world spun briefly, colors and lights dancing around them in a dizzying blur. Then suddenly, their feet touched solid ground once more, and the sensation passed. Ethan blinked, taking in their new surroundings carefully.

The three of them were standing in a grand hall, and all around them, figures were materializing in and out of thin air.

The grand hall was massive—its vaulted ceilings soaring high above, decorated with intricate carvings that glowed faintly, powered by a gentle current of mana. Elegant marble pillars lined the walls, and scattered throughout the vast chamber were countless shimmering teleportation portals, each one humming with arcane energy.

Figures materialized and vanished rapidly from these portals, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of flickering lights and shifting colors. Groups of young people—students, by the looks of their matching robes and insignias—clustered near each portal, chatting energetically, exchanging information, or anxiously preparing themselves to step through.

"Master… what is this place?"

Ethan didn't immediately answer, his sharp gaze scanning the hall for clues. His attention was soon captured by snippets of conversation from a nearby group of students. They wore robes emblazoned with an unfamiliar crest.

"Which portal are we taking today?" asked a young man with fiery red hair, a hint of nervous excitement in his voice.

"I heard the Fire Golem dungeon got a reset this morning," replied a confident young woman next to him, adjusting her robes. "It's perfect for training elemental magic, and the rewards this cycle should be great."

Another student, slightly older and clearly more experienced, chuckled lightly. "Don't get overconfident. Last time, two teams from the third year barely made it back. The difficulty seems to have increased again."

"Hmph. I don't care. No matter what I want my name on that stone tablet. Without it my family is going to disown me, damn it."

Ethan's eyes widened slightly in understanding. Each portal was an entrance to a dungeon, a controlled environment designed specifically for training and leveling. This was exactly the opportunity he'd been looking for—a structured, reliable way to rapidly gain experience and strength.

And there were so many dungeons here!

"Big brother, are we going inside one of those?" Luna asked cautiously, her gaze fixed curiously on the shimmering gateways.

"Yeah," Ethan nodded. "But we need to pick carefully. Let's start with something manageable."

"I'll follow your lead, Master." Lia added.

Before randomly picking a dungeon and dying, Ethan decided to first talk to someone about it and get a bit more details.

He carefully scanned the hall, looking for someone approachable who wouldn't mind answering a few questions. His gaze settled on a young man leaning casually against a pillar, studying a parchment scroll with a focused expression. The student had a friendly look about him, with unruly brown hair and robes slightly worn from use.

"Stay close," Ethan murmured quietly to Luna and Lia, leading them forward.

As they approached, the young man glanced up, noticing Ethan's group. He raised an eyebrow, a friendly smile tugging at his lips. "Need some help?"

"Yeah, actually," Ethan admitted with a sheepish grin. "We just arrived. Mind giving us a quick rundown of how things work?"

The student's eyes brightened. "Sure thing. First time in the Grand Dungeon Hall, huh? I'm Finn, by the way—from Ironcrest Academy. Third-tier school, not too flashy." He extended his hand warmly.

"Cole," he replied, shaking Finn's hand briefly. "These are Mina and Loretta." He gave random names that popped up in his brain.

Finn smiled at both girls before continuing. "Alright, quick basics: each portal here connects to a dungeon tailored for training. The dungeons reset regularly, which means new monsters and new treasures."

"Lower-level ones are easier and have fewer risks, but the rewards aren't as good. Higher-level dungeons offer powerful items and bigger boosts, but they're tough—students regularly fail, or worse. If you do not have a healer with you, there is a real chance you might die even in the lowest level dungeon. So be careful."

"How do we know which ones are suitable for beginners?" Ethan asked, keeping his voice casual.

Finn chuckled, nodding knowingly. "See those portals with green glow?" He pointed toward a cluster of gently pulsing green gateways. "Those are starter dungeons—pretty safe for newcomers. Blue ones are intermediate, red are advanced, and those purple ones are extremely dangerous. Only the faculty use them for training. If you're just getting started, definitely stick with the green."

"Thanks, Finn. Any particular dungeon you recommend?"

Finn thought for a moment. "Hmm… there's the 'Crystal Glade' dungeon. Monsters are manageable, mostly slimes and low-level beasts, good rewards, and excellent for practicing teamwork."

Ethan smiled appreciatively. "Sounds perfect. We'll start there."

Finn nodded warmly. "Good luck! Maybe I'll see you around again. Hey. wait. Which academy are you from again? Maybe we can team up later?"

Ethan quickly walked away, pretending that he did not hear the guy. He only stopped when he reached the green portals zone.

"Alright," Ethan said calmly, pausing before the Crystal Glade portal. "Ready to give this a shot?"

Both girls nodded determinedly, excitement and resolve shining brightly in their eyes. Without hesitation, Ethan stepped forward, leading them directly into their first real dungeon adventure.

The portal swallowed them up in an instant, wrapping Ethan, Lia, and Luna in another surge of brilliant, swirling colors. Ethan felt a rush of excitement mixed with apprehension. This was a turning point; there was no backing out now.

Their feet soon touched solid ground again, and the bright light faded, replaced by gentle sunlight filtering through leafy branches. They stood at the edge of a lush clearing filled with shimmering, crystal-like trees whose leaves sparkled softly with magical energy. A fresh, sweet breeze carried the faint scent of mana-infused flowers, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

"This place is so beautiful," Luna whispered in awe, eyes wide with wonder as she stared at the crystalline flora surrounding them.

"Beautiful, yes," Ethan agreed cautiously, scanning the clearing. "But keep your guard up. It may look peaceful, but it's still a dungeon."
