Limitless Evolution: I'm The New Dragon God?-Chapter 47: Gamble
Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Gamble
"I am your..." the dragon paused, golden eyes gleaming in the dim glow of the void.
Venus held her breath. Her body trembled slightly, caught between fear and awe.
"I am your Mana Daddy," the dragon finally said, voice deep and resounding like ancient thunder. "The one who will decide whether you remain bound by fate or rise beyond it."
Venus: "...."
"Are you serious? Couldn’t you find a better name to call yourself with? What does a Mana Daddy means anyway?" Venus said, find his name weird.
The dragon grinned.
"Mana Daddy. That is the name whispered by those I’ve helped. I awaken the dormant. I nurture the weak. I make impossible, possible. It’s a silly name, but those who mock it usually cry after their evolution."
Venus did not know whether to laugh or cry.
He continued, "Your world has labeled you a failure. They see no mana inside you. But they do not see what I see. A potential spark... waiting to be lit."
Her heart pounded.
"Do you want to awaken, girl?"
She nodded, almost involuntarily.
"Good. Then prepare yourself. Because my blessing is no gift. It is a trial of endurance. It will burn your bones and freeze your soul. But if you survive... you will never be powerless again."
A glowing orb of rich essence appeared beside him, pulsing like a heartbeat.
The dragon stepped forward slowly, his golden scales casting rippling light across the transparent chamber. His presence was commanding, yet not suffocating. There was something ancient in his gaze, something that made her feel like she stood before a living myth.
The glowing Orb beside Ryu was the bloodline of: Sky Dragonfly (F). He chose to start with lowest for her safety. But if she could endure more, he would infuse more Until she awakens the Mana.
Opposite to him, looking at the pulsating orb, Venus swallowed hard.
"What... what do I have to do?"
The dragon raised one claw,
"You must take this within you.
The orb floated toward her. Its energy caressed her skin, making her hairs stand on end.
"But I warn you," the dragon added, voice like a tolling bell. "There is no turning back. The pain will be real. The trial, unforgiving. So think carefully."
Venus stared at the orb hovering before her. Her fists clenched. Her heart pounded.
After 2 years of heard training, today she was told—she was worthless and ordinary just like her parents are. She would always to be protected by the shadow of others.
But now, this was her chance. To take her destiny in her own hand.
She took a shaky breath. "I... I accept."
The dragon’s eyes gleamed. "Then endure."
"Swoosh!"
The orb rushed into her chest at once.
"Ugh!"
Her body arched backward violently. Her scream echoed through the void, not out of fear, but raw, prickling pain across her skin. It felt like her blood was boiling.
She fell to her knees, gasping, as wave after wave of agony tore through her.
The dragon watched silently, unmoving.
Venus gritted her teeth so hard she thought they might crack. The pain had clawed into her bones, scraping every inch of her body with invisible blades. But she held on. Her mind was a whirlwind of memories, each one a scar.
The looks of pity from her teachers.
The hushed whispers at the academy.
The silence from her father.
She had swallowed it all. And now, in this strange place, she decided she would not fall.
The first fusion was a success. Her body shook violently, but she endured. Her skin crackled with residual energy, and a faint gleam appeared on her limbs like hardened scales hidden beneath flesh.
Ryu, still in dragon form, watched carefully. But even with the successful fusion, her mana signature remained flat.
No mana yet.
He silently summoned the second bloodline.
Nightmare Hydra (E).
The orb of blood essence descended like a meteor. Venus barely had time to breathe before it struck her chest with a jolt of heat and venom.
Her body spasmed, and her screams bouncing off the transparent walls again. But even now, the agony didn’t force her unconscious. She fought through it. Her body twisted, veins glowing like burning ink under skin, but she didn’t black out.
Ryu’s golden eyes widened slightly. When he fused with this bloodline long ago, it took everything in him not to pass out from the pain.
But she was enduring it on her second try.
’Her pain threshold is climbing fast. Ridiculously fast,’ he muttered internally. ’But it’s hard to say if she can awaken Mana like this?’
The 2nd fusion was completed.
Hsssss...
Steam hissed off her back as she fell to her knees, coughing and shaking. Her limbs had grown slightly longer, more defined. The hint of claw-like fingers, subtle scale texture, even a shift in her breathing patterns.
She was getting stronger. But just physically.
Still, no mana.
He accessed the interface.
[ Name: Venus Versalon – Level 3 ]

But there was no sign of a mana core. No mana veins, no flux. Nothing.
"Uff, huff, huff..." She lay on the floor, panting.
Her eyes lifted, and she looked straight at the dragon who had brought her here.
"Huff... Mana Daddy," she said between breaths, "why haven’t I awakened yet?"
Her voice wasn’t angry. It was confused. Desperate. Cracked at the edges.
Ryu didn’t answer right away. He circled her slowly, his golden scales shimmering under the ambient light of the Lab. Then, he stopped and lowered his head near hers.
"Because," he finally said, "your problem isn’t your body. It’s something deeper. Your mana is sealed away."
Venus blinked.
"Sealed?"
Ryu nodded, his gaze turning cold and calculating.
"You are not mana-less, Venus. You are mana-sealed. Someone or something bound your potential, maybe from birth. That is why normal methods don’t work."
Venus opened her mouth in shock. "Then can you not break it?"
Ryu’s dragon wings rustled.
"Maybe. But it will hurt far more than before. And I cannot promise you will survive it." he said seriously.
"I will take the gamble," Venus answered without hesitation.
Ryu couldn’t help but admire for her courage for a bit. She was really strong willed. And strong willed persons deserve something better.
So he took the next bloodline he cooked while conversing:
