Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster-Chapter 16: The USB Drive Was Swapped
The original plan was for the sixtieth birthday banquet of the Lynch Family’s elderly grandfather, but it turned unexpectedly into a reunion banquet for Nathan Foster and South Grant.
Except this reunion was one-sided.
Because South Grant later ran away with a photo album and a diary.
That’s right, you read it correctly, she ran away.
Frightened off!
Many guests at the banquet were discussing this unexpected event, completely unable to believe that the Foster Family had any ties with the Grant Family.
As the conversation turned to South Grant’s parents, people started to gossip.
Those unfamiliar with the Grant Family’s situation asked those around them:
"Speaking of today’s incident, I haven’t heard any news about Ian Grant for many years. I’ve been abroad; how has he been recently, and why is it always his brother Miles Grant representing the Grant Family?"
"You wouldn’t know since you’ve been abroad; Ian Grant passed away seven years ago. It’s been his younger brother managing the Grant Family ever since."
"What? Ian Grant is gone? That’s really such a pity."
"Isn’t it? Ian Grant was a genius in the business world. If he were still around, the Grant Family might have ascended even further by now."
"Such a pity, such a pity..."
They mourned Ian Grant, and then someone suddenly mentioned:
"Who would have thought that Ian Grant’s wife was the eldest daughter of the Foster Family."
"Nobody expected that. After Ian Grant returned from abroad with his wife, she never appeared in the public eye again. Ian Grant protected her so well that we have scarcely any information about her."
Felicity Grant was still at the banquet, feeling extremely reluctant as the evening’s focus shifted to South Grant.
South Grant turns out to have such a powerful uncle!
The entire hall was now discussing Uncle Ian Grant and Aunt, leaving Felicity Grant feeling deeply dissatisfied!
Everyone attributed the current glory of the Grant Family to Ian Grant, barely acknowledging her father’s meticulous management.
Ian Grant was just lucky; after returning to the country, he created several significant IPs, which popularized many people under the company’s banner and established a foothold in the economic and entertainment sectors.
If he were at the helm now, with so many rival companies and numerous studios emerging like bamboo shoots after a rain.
With such fierce market competition, let’s see if he could still maintain the leading position.
Later, Felicity Grant thought of Ian Grant’s wife, South Grant’s mother.
Felicity Grant’s only impression of her was how beautiful she was.
As a child, she often wished she could look like her Aunt.
Ian Grant protected his wife so well that even the Grant Family couldn’t reach her.
And at that moment, Nathan Foster sat in the Hummer, eyes closed, contemplating something unknown.
His personal assistant, Ivan Keller, inserted a U-disk into the laptop. This U-disk was left in panic by South Grant in the banquet hall earlier.
Once the files appeared on the screen, Ivan Keller handed the laptop to Nathan Foster.
"Sir, the U-disk has been opened."
Nathan Foster didn’t even open his eyes, simply waved his hand and said:
"No need, the U-disk has been switched."
Ivan Keller paused, examining the U-disk closely, unable to discern anything unusual.
"Sir, could it be that you’ve seen the files before, hence you’re aware that the U-disk has been switched?" Ivan Keller was quite puzzled.
At this moment, Nathan Foster opened his eyes, looking at the U-disk and said:
"Everything belonging to Captain S has a tiny S mark on top. See if this one has it." Nathan Foster said indifferently.
Ivan Keller took a look, and sure enough, there was no S mark as Nathan described.
"Sir, what was the purpose of switching the U-disk?"
Nathan Foster stared out the car window, his dark eyes slightly narrowed.
Purpose?
He would eventually find out.
Those who know about this matter either keep silent forever,
Or, they stay by his side forever.
