Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster-Chapter 112 - 111: Even If Responsibility Is Needed, It Won’t Be Yours
"What could possibly be wrong with her? She’s sleeping soundly upstairs." Nathan Foster said indifferently.
"Mr. Foster, last night... I’ll take responsibility for South." Chester Lynch said with a face full of guilt.
He woke up at home early this morning, with his mother by his side the whole time.
The butler nearby said that when Ivan Keller sent him back last night, he was in a very sorry state.
But Chester Lynch had no recollection of it; he only remembered, in his last moment of losing control, pushing South Grant to the ground.
No one would go to that place, even if Nathan Foster discovered them later.
The things that were supposed to happen must have already happened.
Chester Lynch didn’t know if he had hurt South Grant, so the first thing he did when he opened his eyes was to find South Grant.
When Nathan Foster heard Chester Lynch say ’responsible,’ his gaze instantly sharpened.
"You must have some misunderstanding about yourself," Nathan Foster’s voice carried a bit of a chill, "South is a boy, so I’d like to ask you, how do you plan to take responsibility for him?"
Chester Lynch: "..."
He thought Nathan Foster knew South Grant was a girl.
He didn’t expect to get such an answer from Nathan Foster.
"Moreover, nothing happened between you and South. Even if there were responsibilities to bear, it wouldn’t be on you."
Nathan Foster, being a senior to Chester Lynch, originally intended to speak gently, to tell him that nothing had happened between them, so there was no need to take responsibility.
However, as he spoke, the words took on a different tone.
Men’s intuition can be sensitive too. Chester Lynch didn’t know why, but he sensed a strong undertone of jealousy in Nathan Foster’s words.
He thought it was probably a feeling of protection towards South Grant.
"Ahem, I misunderstood... Mr. Foster, may I see South?" Chester Lynch was still persistent.
"No," Nathan Foster refused sternly, lifting his head and looking at Chester Lynch with a sharp gaze, "Chester, words can be damaging. Since someone was able to set you up once, there could be a second time. It’s better for there to be some distance between you and South."
Chester Lynch’s expression turned sour, and he started to wilt after Nathan Foster refused him.
He thought this was South Grant’s wish.
Last night, he had been rude and scared South Grant, so South Grant was angry.
"I understand. Please tell South when she wakes up that I never intended to hurt her. Last night, thank her for coming to save me. Mr. Foster, goodbye."
Chester Lynch finished speaking and turned to leave Nathan Foster’s study.
Ivan Keller was right outside the door; he had heard their conversation loud and clear. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Watching Chester Lynch’s dejected back, he silently mourned for him for three seconds.
Young man, give up. Our chief has his eyes on the prey; how could he possibly give you a chance?
Once Chester Lynch left, South Grant dashed downstairs.
When she reached the side of the study, she asked Ivan Keller, "What did Chester Lynch just say to my uncle?"
Ivan Keller, of course, couldn’t tell South Grant what he had heard, so he just said flatly, "I’m deaf."
"..." Nathan Foster’s side is full of a bunch of weirdoes!
South Grant then held up a finger in front of Ivan Keller, "What is this?"
"One."
"This is a finger. You’re not only deaf, you’re also brain-dead!"
"..."
South Grant couldn’t be bothered to bicker with him and pushed the door open to enter.
As she entered, she could clearly feel the study’s atmosphere was a few degrees colder than outside.
South Grant was still thinking about how to subtly ask about Chester Lynch’s situation, when at that moment, Nathan Foster raised his head, his gaze full of frost.
"Did Chester Lynch touch you last night?"
Nathan Foster thought of the moment when he entered last night, seeing South Grant and Chester Lynch disheveled.
At that time, he subjectively thought that nothing had happened between them, but Chester Lynch’s words today made him suspicious.
Chester Lynch knew South Grant was a girl, otherwise, he wouldn’t have spoken about being responsible for South.
