Life In The Limelight : I Married A Gamer Girl-Chapter 50: Thankful
Chapter 50 - Thankful
The gentle hum of early morning filled the room as the soft sunlight filtered through the curtains. Kazuma stirred quietly, his light blue hair slightly messy as he glanced over to Masako, who was still fast asleep beside him. Her dark brown hair fell in soft waves across her pillow, and a serene expression graced her face. He smiled to himself, carefully slipping out of bed without waking her. Today wasn't just any day—it was Masako's birthday, and Kazuma was determined to make it unforgettable.
He had been planning for weeks, secretly working on every detail to ensure her day was as special as she was. From the meals to the activities to the heartfelt gift he had prepared, Kazuma wanted this day to be all about celebrating the incredible woman he loved.
After a quick shower, he made his way to the kitchen. He had prepped most of the ingredients the night before, and now he moved with precision, crafting her favorite breakfast: pancakes topped with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and a drizzle of honey. He even brewed her favorite coffee, adding just the right amount of cream and sugar. By the time the food was ready, the aroma had filled the house, and Kazuma carefully plated everything on a tray.
When he returned to their bedroom, Masako was starting to stir. Her golden eyes fluttered open, and she blinked up at him, a sleepy but radiant smile spreading across her face. "Good morning, dear," she murmured. "What's all this?"
Kazuma grinned, setting the tray down on the nightstand. "Happy birthday, sweetie," he said, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I wanted you to wake up to something special."
Masako sat up, her dark brown hair falling over her shoulders as she stretched. Her golden eyes lit up when she saw the breakfast. "You made this for me?" she asked, her voice filled with delight.
"Of course," Kazuma replied, sitting on the edge of the bed. "Today's all about you. I want to spoil you."
Masako giggled, her cheeks flushing slightly as she picked up a fork. "You're going to make me fall even more in love with you, you know that?"
"That's the plan," Kazuma teased, watching with satisfaction as she took her first bite. The look of pure joy on her face made every effort worth it.
After breakfast, Kazuma continued to surprise Masako with thoughtful gestures throughout the day. First, they watched her favorite romantic movie together, with Kazuma jokingly reciting some of the cheesier lines to make her laugh. Then they moved on to co-op gaming, where Kazuma purposely let her win a few matches—though her victorious grins made him suspect she had noticed his little trick.

In the afternoon, Kazuma suggested a walk in the nearby park. Masako eagerly agreed, and they strolled hand-in-hand along the scenic trails. The crisp breeze carried the scent of blooming flowers, and Masako leaned into him, her golden eyes sparkling as she admired the beauty around them.
When they reached a quiet clearing, Kazuma revealed yet another surprise: a small picnic he had prepared earlier. The blanket was already laid out, complete with sandwiches, fruits, and Masako's favorite snacks. She gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. "Kazuma, this is amazing!" she exclaimed, hugging him tightly.
Kazuma chuckled, his light blue eyes warm. "I wanted to do something simple but meaningful. You deserve it."
They spent the afternoon enjoying the picnic, laughing and sharing stories. Masako couldn't stop smiling, her heart swelling with gratitude for the man who had made her day so perfect.
As the sun began to set, Kazuma led Masako back home. After a light dinner, he guided her to the couch, where they curled up together under a blanket. Masako rested her head on his shoulder, her golden eyes half-closed in contentment.
"This has been the best birthday ever," she said softly. "Thank you, dear."
Kazuma smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "I'm glad you're happy. But there's one more thing."
Masako perked up, her curiosity piqued. "Another surprise? You've already done so much!"
Kazuma stood and walked to the corner of the room, where a small, neatly wrapped box sat on the table. He picked it up and returned to Masako, handing it to her with a nervous but excited expression. "I've been working on this for a while. I hope you like it."
Masako carefully unwrapped the box, her golden eyes widening as she opened it to reveal a heart-shaped locket. The intricate design on the front featured tiny engravings of stars and flowers, and when she opened it, she found two small photos inside—one of the two of them together and another of a simple quote: "You are my world."
"Kazuma..." Masako's voice was barely a whisper, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "This is... beautiful. You made this?"
Kazuma nodded, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah. I wanted to give you something personal—something that would remind you of how much I love you."
Masako set the locket aside and threw her arms around him, pulling him into a tight hug. "You're amazing, dear," she murmured. "Thank you. This means so much to me."
Kazuma hugged her back, his light blue eyes closing as he held her close. "You mean everything to me, Masako. I just wanted you to know that."
As the night wound down, Masako excused herself to their bedroom, saying she needed a moment. Kazuma, assuming she was tired after the long day, stayed on the couch, tidying up the remnants of their dinner. But when Masako called his name from the doorway, he turned and froze.
She was standing in the doorway, her golden eyes shyly avoiding his as she fidgeted with the hem of her oversized shirt. Her cheeks were flushed, and her voice was soft as she said, "Kazuma... can you come here?"
Kazuma approached her, concern flickering in his light blue eyes. "Are you okay, sweetie?"
Masako nodded, stepping back into the room and letting him follow. Once inside, she turned to face him, her hands trembling slightly as she began to unbutton her shirt. Kazuma's breath caught as the fabric slipped from her shoulders, revealing the smooth, soft curves of her body beneath. She stood there, vulnerable yet beautiful, her golden eyes meeting his as she shyly said, "I... I want to be with you tonight, dear. Will you... have me?"
Kazuma's face turned a deep shade of red, but his light blue eyes softened with love and tenderness. He stepped forward, gently cupping her face in his hands. "Masako," he said softly, "I'd be honored."
Masako smiled, her cheeks still flushed as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close. "Happy birthday to me," she whispered with a giggle, her golden eyes glinting with affection.
As the night deepened, the couple shared a moment of passion and intimacy, their love for each other shining brighter than ever. For Masako, it was the perfect end to a perfect day—a celebration of not just her birthday, but the deep bond she shared with Kazuma.
