Life In The Limelight : I Married A Gamer Girl-Chapter 32: Rained In
Chapter 32 - Rained In
The sound of rain pounding against the windows filled the cozy living room as the storm raged outside. The wind howled, and occasional flashes of lightning lit up the room in brief, eerie bursts. It was one of those days where stepping outside was unthinkable, and Kazuma and Masako found themselves trapped indoors.
Kazuma sat on the couch, his light blue eyes scanning through some notes for their upcoming project, Spirit Walker. He had initially planned to spend the day making progress on coding, but the storm had knocked out the internet, leaving him with little to do besides reviewing offline documents.
Masako, however, seemed completely unbothered by the situation. She had disappeared into their bedroom earlier, and when she returned, Kazuma glanced up and immediately felt his cheeks flush. She was wearing one of his oversized shirts, the fabric hanging loosely on her petite frame, brushing against her thighs. Her dark brown hair was slightly tousled, and her golden eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Hey, dear," she said, her voice sweet and playful as she padded barefoot toward him. "You look so serious. What are you working on?"
Kazuma cleared his throat, trying to refocus his attention on his notes. "Just reviewing some mechanics for the game. I figured I'd make use of the downtime."
Masako plopped down next to him on the couch, her golden eyes narrowing as she inspected the documents over his shoulder. "Hmm," she hummed thoughtfully, "looks boring. You know what would be more fun?"
Kazuma glanced at her warily, already sensing where this was going. "I'm almost afraid to ask."
Masako grinned, grabbing a thick blanket from the back of the couch and draping it over both of them. She snuggled up against his side, resting her head on his shoulder. "Cuddling," she said matter-of-factly. "And kissing. Lots of it."
Kazuma sighed, though a small smile tugged at his lips. "Masako, I'm trying to get some work done."
She tilted her head, her golden eyes locking with his. "Oh, come on, dear. The storm knocked out the internet, it's cold and rainy, and we're stuck inside. This is the perfect time for cuddles. Don't be such a workaholic."

Before he could respond, she leaned closer, wrapping her arms around his waist and pressing herself against him. "Besides," she added, her voice lowering into a teasing whisper, "you can't resist me when I'm wearing your shirt, can you?"
Kazuma's cheeks turned pink as he avoided her gaze. "You're impossible, you know that?"
"And you love me for it," Masako replied, her grin widening as she reached up to plant a soft kiss on his cheek.
Despite his initial resistance, Kazuma let out a quiet chuckle and set his notes aside. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer under the blanket. "Alright, sweetie," he said, his light blue eyes softening. "You win."
Masako let out a triumphant hum, nestling into his chest. "I always do, dear. Now, let's make the most of this stormy day."
They sat like that for a while, wrapped in the warmth of the blanket and each other's arms. Masako traced small circles on Kazuma's chest with her finger, occasionally leaning up to kiss his neck or jawline. Every time she did, she couldn't help but giggle at the way his ears turned pink.
"You're so easy to fluster, dear," she teased, resting her chin on his shoulder. "It's adorable."
"You're doing it on purpose," Kazuma replied, his voice half exasperated and half amused.
"Of course I am," Masako said with a smirk. "It's fun."
Kazuma shook his head, but the affectionate smile on his face betrayed him. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, his light blue eyes filled with warmth. "You're lucky I love you."
Masako beamed, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him into a deeper kiss. The storm outside roared on, but inside their little cocoon of warmth and love, the world felt peaceful. When they finally broke apart, Masako let out a content sigh and rested her head back against his chest.
"You know," she said softly, her voice playful but sincere, "I wouldn't mind if we got stuck inside like this more often."
Kazuma chuckled, running a hand through her hair. "You'd get bored eventually, sweetie."
"Not if I had you to keep me company," she replied, her golden eyes glancing up at him. "You're all I need."
For the rest of the evening, they stayed curled up together, the storm outside fading into the background. The warmth of their embrace, the playful teasing, and the quiet love they shared were all they needed to make the day unforgettable.
