Leveling Up by Seducing Milfs-Chapter 94. Divine Vision of Doom
The strategy meeting was moved back an hour, which gave Rick some time to relax and think about everything. He sat on a stone bench in one of the Divine Temple’s gardens, where it was quiet, and looked at the fountain in the middle.
The water sparkled in the evening light, calm and unchanging, but his mind was racing with everything he had learned during the interrogation.
Sebastian’s voice said, "You look like someone who just found out the world is going to end soon," and the little butler appeared on the bench next to him.
Rick looked at him. "Well, yeah. No shit, Sherlock."
"Four and a half months until the barriers fall down completely."
"Just as I fucked three milfs, the world is slowly falling towards its end. It’s not fucking fair, ain’t it?"
Sebastian said, "It’s actually four months now."
"The corruption is getting worse faster than we thought, but that’s not why I’m here."
Rick raised one eyebrow. "Huh...?"
Sebastian changed the position of his monocle with a serious look on his face. "Your intimate time with Natasha brought about another change in your skills."
"Before the meeting starts, I need to tell you what you’ve learned."
"Oh, yeah! More power!"
"Finally, something good to hear for a change!" Rick perked up right away, forgetting how tired he was.
"You know, what I love about this system is that it’s not just about fucking or seducing MILFs. It’s the powers I got after I fucked them, hehehe." Rick laughed while scratching his nose.
"Well, that’s what the title says, isn’t it?"
Sebastian raised one small finger. "First, Frozen Clarity."
"You already know about this one. It’s the next step in Natasha’s Frost Mind power."
"Your bond with Natasha gives you both perfect mental focus and makes you completely immune to fear and mental manipulation."
"That’s the same as Carmilla’s Unbreakable Will if you think about it."
"Well, now it has a better chance to literally block fear and mental manipulation, right? Stop bitching about it because I’m not finished explaining."
"Allies within twenty meters can also get this effect for thirty seconds, but it has a one-hour cooldown."
Rick nodded. "Well, at least that could save lives in battle."
Sebastian put up a second finger. "Second, Tactical Mind."
"This is a passive skill that makes you forty percent better at planning your strategy."
"You’ll be able to quickly figure out what’s going on in a fight, spotting patterns and chances that would normally take you a few minutes to see."
"Whoa! Now that... sounds like it’s a broken skill to get!" Rick’s eyes got bigger.
Sebastian said dryly, "It’s making up for your natural tendency to run into danger without thinking."
"Now you’ll have a plan for when you do something stupid."
Rick couldn’t disagree with that.
Sebastian put up a third finger. "Third, the Frost Aura."
"When you use it, it causes ice damage to all enemies within a fifteen-meter radius and slows them down. The duration is 30 seconds, and the cooldown is 5 minutes."
"The damage isn’t too bad, but the slow effect is very helpful for keeping a lot of enemies in check."
Rick thought about how useful that would be in battle and said, "That’s actually really useful."
"I could lock down a lot of attackers while my bonded partners deal with them one at a time."
"That’s right," Sebastian said. "And finally," he raised his fourth finger with a flourish, "Glacial Fortress."
"This is the Natasha bond’s best defensive ability."
"When you use this ability, you make a wall of ice around yourself or an ally that takes half of all incoming damage. The barrier lasts for one minute, and then you have to wait fifteen minutes before it can be used again."
Rick made a low whistle. "That’s amazing."
"When I added the Resonant Shield from Carmilla’s bond, I could become unkillable for short periods of time."
Sebastian said, "Don’t be too sure of yourself."
"These skills are strong, but they won’t stop you from being dumb."
"The Shadow Covenant is making plans for their next move, and they won’t make the same mistake twice."
"I know," Rick said, his mood changing. "But at least we have better skills now."
"And also, why do Carmilla and Natasha’s skills almost have the same effect?" Rick asked.
"They’re both just mere humans, dumbass. If you want a good skill, then you might as well fuck a goddess."
"Now, that’s a good fucking idea! Where do I find one?!"
Sebastian disappeared with a soft pop, leaving Rick alone once again with his foolish, desperate thoughts. "What a jackass." Rick said.
"Anyway... I have something important to do." He shut his eyes and reached out through his bond network to check on each of his partners.
Carmilla was close by, probably still in charge of the strategy meeting. Natasha was in the temple library, doing research with her usual intense focus. Liora was in the Golden Shrine, but her emotional signature was off.
It almost felt concerned that she’s almost scared. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
That wasn’t like Liora at all.
She was usually calm and collected, and she exuded calm confidence even when things were dangerous. Rick felt a chill run down his spine when he saw her this upset.
"Ah fuck... what happened to my baddie priestess? I need to check up on her."
He got up from the bench and walked toward the Golden Shrine, following the pull of their Spiritual Link. The shrine was in the middle of the Divine Temple complex, which had beautiful buildings with white marble columns and golden domed roofs. The air inside always felt warm and holy, like it was full of energy.
But today, everything felt off. The energy was restless, almost chaotic.
Rick saw Liora standing in front of the main altar with her hands together in prayer. Her long blonde hair hung down around her shoulders instead of being neatly arranged like it usually was. Her white and gold robes also seemed dimmer, as if the divine light that usually came from them had faded.
"Liora?" Rick called out in a soft voice.
Rick’s breath stopped when she turned. Her amber eyes were wide with fear, and her hands were shaking.
This was not the calm High Priestess he was used to. This was a woman who had been through something awful.
"Rick," Liora said, her voice shaking a little. "Thank the gods you’re here."
"I was about to call you..."
Rick quickly crossed the shrine and took her hands. Even though the temple was warm, her hands were cold.
"What happened? What’s the matter?"
Liora looked up at the statue of the sun goddess that was behind the altar, then back at Rick. "The gods gave me a vision about the Shadow Covenant."
"And it’s about what’s coming for us in the future..."
"No way..." Rick’s stomach dropped. "Please tell me all about it."
Liora took him to a soft spot near the altar where they could sit. She took a deep breath, clearly trying to calm down, but the fear didn’t leave her eyes.
Liora started by saying, "The vision came to me while I was praying at night."
"I thought I had been taken somewhere else because it was so real and clear."
"Rick, the gods showed me things... like things about your foe."
"The Archon?" Rick asked.
"Yes," Liora nodded. "He’s not just the head of the Shadow Covenant."
"He’s something much older and much more dangerous. The gods said he was an old being, maybe even immortal."
"The Shadow Covenant has been around for more than a thousand years, working behind the scenes of history to change things and gain power."
Rick felt a cold dread settle in his chest. "A thousand years...?!"
"How is that even possible?"
"I bet that they’re not even human or mortal!"
Liora said, "I don’t know, but his goal is even worse."
"The Shadow Covenant doesn’t just want to use you to control the Seven Major Powers."
"They want to USE the bond network’s power, and the Archon wants to take in all Seven Powers through you."
"What does that mean?" Rick asked, even though he had a bad feeling he already knew.
Liora’s hands held on to his tightly. "It means he wants to use your bond network to take away the life force and power of all Seven Major Powers."
"Me, Sylvia, the rest of the sevens, and anyone else you get along with, like Carmilla and Natasha. We would be the fuel for his darkness."
"An empty husk while he takes everything we are."
Rick was sick of hearing it. It was almost too much for him to bear to think that his bonded partners would be drained, have their power stolen, and have their lives ruined because of him.
The scenario is even worse when he thinks so far ahead that there’s some potential that his bonded partner will be taken away. "N-No! I don’t want to get cucked...!" Rick starts talking nonsense just because he remembers a porn video of someone being cucked.
"Huh...?"
"Never mind me... moving on."
"There’s more," Liora said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "The corruption is spreading across the land, the barriers are getting weaker, and the monsters are getting more numerous."
"The Archon is to blame for everything. He is speeding up the end of the world on purpose to force your hand and make you desperate enough to make mistakes."
"How long do we have?" Rick asked.
Liora said, "Four months."
"Maybe not as much, but the vision showed me two different futures."
