LEVEL 0 IMMORTAL-Chapter 123: You Push Ahead
Elias was discovering that every Lumina Art or Scripture had an active and passive ability, and for the active abilities, he had to consciously channel them, but the passive did not require any input from him.
For example, he had used several of the abilities from Crimson Vein Domina Heaven Lumina Art without any conscious control.
His void scripture had given him a pseudo-defensive passive ability that reflected one percent of the damage he received, and this ability was constantly working unless he deliberately switched it off. The only reason Elias would be doing this was if he was practicing with his teachers.
Elias could see that this ability was broken even at its lowest state. Reflecting all damage meant all damage, so it could be elemental or mental damage, and they would all be reflected back to the sender.
He could imagine pairing this ability with his Stone Skin ability from the Art of Stone Lumina Vein Art and becoming an unbreakable wall.
At first, Elias did not understand what the second ability of the void scripture was, but now he knew it was an active skill, and he activated it.
Paradox Vessel.
Elias felt it then, an unexplainable gap in reality, as a pocket of emptiness opened in the air between them. There was no visible distortion in space, and if he was not the one with this ability, he would not have been able to discern that something had happened in front of him.
The claw of the Flesh Mauler never reached him and just... stopped in front of his face as if time had been paused.
However, what was happening here was equally as strange as pausing time. The arm of the Flesh Mauler had become frozen in a bubble of contradiction; it was moving and not moving, existing and unexisting.
Not even Elias could fully understand what he had just unleashed, but he knew that this was one of the core traits of his void scripture being expressed.
The Mauler stared at its own limb in confusion, and for a brief moment, Elias almost felt pity for this creature, and he stepped closer,
"You consumed that heart to become this... thing." his voice drew the eyes of the creature towards him, and Elias stepped past the arm that was frozen in space and walked up to the creature. He whispered, "I consumed three legacies to become this."
He placed his palm on the creature’s cracked sternum just beside the massive cavity left behind by the loss of its heart, and his will touched the paradox that had kept its arm frozen in place, and the void pocket responded to him as it expanded, swallowing the Mauler’s chest, then its shoulders, then its head.
Elias could feel the emptiness wash past him, but he was comfortable inside the void, unlike the creature that was thrashing inside, although its struggles were silent and soundless as it was trapped in a contradiction it could not comprehend.
Elias stepped back and watched the creature die. He was killing not just a Mist Phantom, but a siphon that had most likely suffered from Veil-Fracture after he consumed that unknown heart, meaning he should be many times more powerful, but the creature had fallen so quickly.
At this moment, he felt nothing, not pity for a monster that was dying in confusion, or triumph from winning against something that should be many times stronger than him. He only felt clarity as he saw the edges of what true power meant in this world, and how he could have easily fallen to mediocrity without the luck of being the disciple of a powerful Angel.
Elias felt a throbbing sensation in his heart a moment before the void pocket closed with a slight pop, and the Flesh Mauler vanished.
He knew that the creature was not dead, instead it had become contained, and in the next few days, or weeks, or even months, the Flesh Mauler would be digested into something that was Lumina, but the very building blocks of the Lumina Scripture Vein inside his body.
Elias exhaled. The clearing was silent except for the crackle of cooling glass and vanishing flame from a battle that had stretched for hours, and he was the last one standing.
He entered the forest as a Wisp, and now he was a Fury Forge. Elias looked up at the sky, his prism eyes reflecting the heavens in all of its beauty that was no longer hidden by the Heavenly Restriction.
With a quiet snap and a distinct crack inside his spine, his forging ended, and a brief burst of weakness washed through his body before being replaced by boundless strength.
He stamped one foot to the ground, and he roared to the skies, his long red hair flowing in the breeze, as his figure was highlighted under the light of two moons.
With his forging ended, Elias decided to look at his final status and check if there was any progress.

The first thing he noticed was that his Vitality and Stamina had settled, and they had almost doubled!
Looking at his Vitality, Elias had already had the framework in his mind to calculate how much vitality he was gaining from his durability, and he knew that without the Ascendant Swarm, with 225 points in Durability, he should have had 1503 in Vitality, but the swarm tripled his Vitality pool and he should have had 4,509 points in Vitality, but with Saguine Resonance, he had been able to harvest another 8 points of Vitality from the Flesh Mauler, bringing the sum total of his vitality to 4,517.
