The sound reverberated through the dimly lit cultivation room, which at first remained completely silent, but in the next moment,

A loud gasp followed as a figure jerked up from the pool.

It was, of course, none other than White, whose heart pounded loudly within his chest, as he looked around him in caution.

He mused with quiet confusion, and the system flashed.

[Actually, this is the next day. You were unconscious for 9 hours.]

It said, and he mused a quiet "Oh," before rising to his feet.

The action brought him to a weirdly familiar sensation, and he froze.

He immediately shut his eyes and directed his attention to his heart, where he could feel the abnormal feeling coming from.

At first, it all seemed calm; the only thing he felt was his heartbeat, thudding with an unnatural rhythm.

It was slower than usual, one beat every two seconds, yet each thud was incredibly loud.

He focused his attention even more; his eyes flashed open, and a brilliant flicker of blue illuminated the entire training room.

What he saw wasn’t the dim room.

Instead, he found himself in a void, and before him was an organ that was the size of a mini star.

Before it, White felt himself so minuscule, and that organ was in the shape of a heart.

It was an astral shape, and instead of blood, tiny blue motes of energy, undoubtedly Essence energy, came in and out as the heart pumped, sending a powerful, undulating wave through the entirety of the space.

"This...The Essence Heart Core!"

White mused in disbelief.

Of course, he knew what this was.

This had happened to him before, when he had been close to breaking through to the Meteor rank in his past life.

Blinking once, he found himself out of the space and back in the cultivation room.

"Hey, system?"

He called, but he didn’t need to say anything more before the panel flashed.

[Congratulations, White. You have broken through to the Late Stage of the Star Realm.]

Disbelief filled White, leaving him whispering a

"I’ve reached the late stage already. How?"

[Yes, you have, and your decision to refrain from going to the hospital helped a lot.]

[With most of your bones broken, muscles torn, and organs shifted unnaturally from the fight with Irasul, your body naturally tried to call on energy to heal, and guess what it found?]

[This allowed it to fully absorb all of the essence energy to mend your injuries, which led to essence energy moving into your bones, organs, and muscles.]

[They were fully saturated, allowing you to easily ascend from the Early stage of the Star Realm, break through the middle stage, and finally stabilize at the Late stage.]

Reading through the system’s report, White grinned.

This was the exact reason why he had refused medical attention.

He knew from experience that using essence energy to heal your body would further boost your cultivation than simply sitting down and meditating.

He had expected his power to rise, and hoped to reach the middle stage, but reaching the Late stage?

Now that was out of his expectations.

Still, the growth made him happy as he clenched and unclenched his fist.

It was like he had grown twice stronger than he previously was.

The system panel flashed in the moment, bringing him out of that.

But then, if one thinks of the fact that he had received 37 attributes on breaking through to the Early Star Realm, then it wasn’t really that shocking to gain 50 on reaching the Late Stage.

In fact, it might even seem disproportionate, but White understood.

The strength one gains from reaching a new realm, like when he stepped into the Early-stage rank, often increases one’s power more than one gains crossing through a minor realm, like from the early stage to the middle stage.

But this was a true quest.

He was excited at first, but what he saw made his breath pause.
