Legendary Oops System-Chapter 49: Courting Death
"Irasul?"
To his question, the dark slit soon appeared in the air behind Inumaki, and out came the massive claws, coming to rest on his shoulder.
"Irasul is my summon."
"He’s telling me you picked the challenge because you feel like I should be the easiest to deal with, in short, the weakest."
Inumaki said, leaving White in a state of quiet confusion.
’So, it even talks to him, huh?’ he thought quietly to himself.
He moved to reply, but suddenly halted.
’Wait, if I want him to fight me with everything he’s got, then agreeing with his summon will help best, won’t it?"
Closing his mouth, White reopened it, but this time with a condescending grin.
"Actually, your summon is right."
"Compared to the challenges I’ve received, I did decide to take on your challenge because I think it would be much easier."
The second, he said that.
SHRIIIIIING!
The claw on Inumaki’s shoulder widened, crimson energy burning from it, but that wasn’t all.
RIIIIP!
All of a sudden, a second slit appeared in the dark of space behind Inumaki, and out came a second claw.
That shook White.
The fight Innumaki had with Rukun the last time, only one slit appeared, and only one claw came out.
But now two claws were out, and this time, they weren’t just ordinary claws.
They burned with otherworldly crimson flames.
’Seems like Gustav isn’t the only one growing stronger.’
He thought quietly.
"You’re right, Irasul."
Innumaki whispered, hands slowly reaching out to White.
"I should have never doubted you. Now let’s show him."
VROOOOM!
In an instant, a column of crimson flame reached White, his face growing hot just before the claw slammed down.
BOOOOM!
The ground caved in from the force, missing White, who had already jumped back, landing on the barrier horizontally against the ground.
RIIIIIP
The air was sliced apart as both claws slashed up towards him, but then,
BOOOOM! 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
The surface of the barrier shook as he flashed forward, appearing instantly before Inumaki.
With his fist glowing with blue runic lines, he punched outwards with power, slamming towards Inumaki and tearing through his face.
But it was only an afterimage.
"Irasul!"
The call echoed behind White’s head, and his face changed as he threw his hand back, the force of it sending him spinning, and he kicked his leg.
It slammed into the center of the wide-open claws that were heading for his head, pushing both back, and White spun twice before he landed on the ground.
He remained in the same place for three seconds,
BANG!
The ground gave way as he crouched down with the massive claws pressing down on him.
He barely held it up with both hands, the claws folding towards his head, but blocked by Limitless Interval.
This created a stalemate of sorts, though it was easy to see who was winning as the ground beneath White repeatedly cracked, and he was being forced deeper into the ground.
"Seems like defeating Gustav has made you complacent. You’re still at the same level of strength as you were back when you fought him."
Inumaki said, teleporting instantly before White.
His hands slowly folded into a fist, which he calmly moved back.
"You’re a disappointment."
He muttered before punching towards White’s face.
It tore through it, but his eyes widened when he witnessed it,
’An afterimage...’
The claw collapsed on the ground, and Inumaki tried to teleport but failed.
He faltered as he felt something grab his right hand from behind.
It was White, standing back-to-back with him.
"I was curious what amount of brute force was truly behind Irasul’s claw. I’ve seen it now."
BOOM!
Inumaki slapped his hands backwards, but then,
CLASP!
The sound of hands clasping into each other rang out as White’s palm interlocked with his.
He moved in the next moment, the back of his hands slamming into Inumaki’s face.
The force of the strike was so powerful that the boy was thrown up a few inches, landing on the ground before the resultant motion sent him spinning back into the air.
"What the?"
Inumaki’s eyes widened, looking down at White, who had his right hand raised into a fist.
In the next moment, he disappeared!
BOOOOM!
A punch slammed right into his face, landing on his jaw and neck, and blowing him five meters off as he spun roughly through the air before slamming into the barrier.
COUGH!
He coughed once, and red blood splattered onto the ground.
"Irasul!"
Inumaki roared, and the claws slammed onto White from both sides.
CLAAAAAP!
A shockwave rippled out as both claws slammed into each other, but when the claws parted, there was nothing.
ACCCK!
A groan escaped Inumaki’s lips as a hand appeared before him like a phantom, grabbing his neck before he could even think of teleporting.
BOOOOM!
A shockwave undulated forth as a punch slammed into his stomach.
BOOOOM!
BOOOOM!
BOOOOM!
Three more quickly followed before White suddenly flung him to the side.
The claws reappeared, and Inumaki was sent straight towards them.
PUUUCHI!
The sound of claws piercing into skin echoed out through the arena, which was reduced to total silence.
There, hanging in the air, was Inumaki, but he wasn’t flying.
Instead, the claw of his own summon had dug into his own stomach, and blood slowly oozed from his lips.
"I... I was defeated?"
The thought echoed through Inumaki’s head, the world around him darkening.
The last thing he saw was the back of the retreating White.
"Irasul... We failed."
He thought, but then, a reply came, a growl that snapped him out of his unconscious state.
"No."
White turned back, naturally heading for his seat.
With Inumaki stabbed by those claws, the boy should be out of the fight, needing immediate medical attention.
But he had not walked very far when,
ROOOOOOOOAR!
A terrifying roar that sent an astral shockwave blasting through the entire stage echoed out, and White snapped back, crossing his hands.
Even with Limitless Interval activated, his legs dug into the battle stage as he skidded back for four meters straight before coming to a stop.
"What the hell!?"
When he turned to look forward, his breath caught in his throat.
[Now, this... is a challenge!]
The System panel flashed as all of White’s hair stood on end.
