Legendary FBI Detective-Chapter 275: Luo An and The World-Famous Hacker with One Stone N Birds
On the 11th floor deep within the FBI Los Angeles Branch building, the Special Investigation Team office area.
The old broken desks and chairs had disappeared, replaced by six brand-new desks and six computers.
Although there were still some dust in the corners of the office area, overall, it had been completely refurbished.
Taking the paper that Luo An handed her, Reesi looked down with a puzzled face, realizing it was a case report certification.
According to FBI internal rules, as long as the investigation team submits case reports or interrogation records, witness testimonies, etc., the case procedurally belongs to that investigation team.
In other words, after Luo An submitted his and Mona's report and interrogation records concerning the attack on them by mercenaries and their accomplices, this meant that the driver—a criminal—was procedurally their "Special Investigation Team's" offender.
In the future, they "Special Investigation Team" also had the authority to investigate this driver's accomplices' case, since three drivers had acted on their squad leader's command to kill Luo An and Mona.
Thus, even though Unit 4 had indeed taken the driver away, Luo An and his team hadn't lost anything:
The ongoing investigation rights remained in their hands; they had completed interrogating the driver and had all the clues and testimonies.
Tonight, none of the three needed to stay in the office area to guard this driver.
Lastly, Luo An had also exchanged this driver for a bunch of equipment in the office area...
Realizing the strategy behind Luo An's "kill many birds with one stone" tactic, Reesi suddenly widened her eyes, speechless, and looked at Luo An's back with incredulity.
Feeling Reesi's astonishment, Luo An turned around with a gentle smile, only to see Reesi stepping back several times as if she had seen something terrifying.
Luo An was puzzled:
"What's the matter? I didn't do anything to you, did I?"
"Hehe..."
Regaining composure, Reesi showed an embarrassed smile, silently hanging ten exclamation marks over Luo An's head:
She had some tricks too, but obviously couldn't compete with Luo An, now somewhat afraid of being used by him and happily counting money for him…
Luo An didn't understand the embarrassed smile on Reesi's face, since he wasn't interested in lesbians, and was just about to ask something when Mona finally opened her laptop and said:
"In that sports car, I could only find specific information on one of the persons."
"Oh?"
Hearing Mona speak, Luo An decisively put aside the issue with Reesi and quickly walked over to inquire:
"Which one?"
"The Caucasian young man sitting in the passenger seat."
Mona's fingers tapped on the keyboard, displaying a person's identity information on the computer:
"Esodo Charlek Dujak, 29 years old, one of the world-renowned hackers, wanted by the government in 9 countries for 26 computer-related charges.
But he is Polish, holds a Polish passport, and Polish laws do not recognize these computer crimes, so he has been living quite well these years."
Seeing that the FBI's internal database specifically marked this guy as barred from entering the Federation, Luo An raised an eyebrow:
"Wow, a high-tech talent."
It's not just anyone that could prompt the Federation Government to issue such an order.
"Right."
Mona said with a solemn face, indicating that her own computer skills probably couldn't match his.
Upon hearing this, Reesi's expression changed immediately:
"This kind of person has entered the Federation this time? And was chased and cornered by a group with guns? What exactly did he do?"
Mona spread her hands:
"I don't know, but it's definitely related to computers or networks, it's just that I can't find his current location; neither computers nor surveillance work."
Reesi plopped down on the chair:
"How did these people get into the Federation?"
"We could call the Federation's customs and ask them to work overtime tonight... although it probably won't help."
Luo An stretched lazily, although he did not know what Esodo was planning in entering the Federation this time, he knew that only a wealthy person could dare to enter the Federation and bring others in.
After all, the customs and immigration people aren't pushovers, they only turn a blind eye when facing wealthy people.
Reesi thought for a moment, pointing to the middle-aged Caucasian male driver with a slicked-back haircut, and continued asking:
"This driver's driving skills are quite good, what's his story?"
A person who can drive coolly amidst gunfire is certainly not ordinary.
"Sorry, I can't find anything about him here."
Speaking of this driver, Mona frowns, indicating that she searched through the FBI's internal database, CIA's external database, and NSA's database, but found no information.
"It seems this might be a big deal."
Luo An crossed his arms in front of his chest, squinting at the image of the slicked-back driver on the computer, pondering something.
Reesi looked at Mona's computer in silence for a while, then turned to Luo An:
"Luo An, what do we do next?"
Mona, hearing this, also turned her gaze to Luo An.
Luo An clapped his hands and laughed:
"Next, we do nothing, we go back to sleep!"
"..."x2
It was already past nine when Luo An and Mona went out for dinner and ended up counter-attacking their enemies, it's time to rest now after some intense exchanging with the investigation teams.
After a brief pack-up, Luo An and Mona shut the doors of the investigation unit and left to sleep, while Reesi rode her motorcycle off into the distance.
She had a date previously unfinished, and maybe she could still catch the tail end of it now.
On the other hand, unlike Luo An's relaxed group ready to rest, the lights were still bright in the office area of the Special Investigation Team No. 4.
In Los Angeles City, they were still searching for those gunmen, and the agents of Team 4 were updating information in real time.
Also, a few agents were sitting in the interrogation room, interrogating a driver they had traded tables, chairs, benches, and computers for.
Two more hours passed, and several teams in Los Angeles City finally found the retreat routes of the two groups, but they still didn't find the people.
The team leader, Morton York, looked down at his watch upon hearing this news, his expression turning very ugly.
At this moment, the leading agent came over with a file, whispered the news that Luo An had already submitted a case report proving their findings to their group earlier.
After saying this, the leading agent was quite annoyed; he quietly swallowed his saliva, thinking that team leader Morton York would explode in anger again.
But to the agent's surprise, after a few seconds of silence upon hearing the news, York took the folder and instead, a smile spread across his face:
"So he's a sly fox!"
Today's young people, either too thin-skinned, lacking experience, or get confused upon being praised, and would hand over practical interests for the sake of reputation.
If ignoring their respective departures, this year's Morton York, who is in his forties, actually quite admired young people like Luo An Greenwood.
But unfortunately, Luo An was the deputy leader of the Special Investigation Team, while he was the leader of Team 4, and their positions could not be reconciled.
"Go order some burgers and coffee for everyone; let's put in extra effort tonight, I'll give everyone a few days off afterward."
Pulling out a few US Dollars from his pocket, Morton York loudly promised.
The leading agent turned and left, and the other agents of Team 4 continued to work head-down, Morton York thought this case would keep them busy for quite a long time.
But unexpectedly, just a few hours later, those gunmen who had showcased their skills on the streets of Los Angeles appeared again, and pulled off another big event!
