Legendary Awakening: Strongest Class In the Apocalypse-Chapter 38: Secret of health attribute
"It is not surprising you are still a non-evolved creature with blood flowing through your veins. The fact that you can even make use of the legendary class to this extent is commendable in itself..."
At those words Xavier’s eyes narrowed slightly, a look of suspicion clear on his face.
He did not take Zerin’s words at their face value at all; if it was not for the familiar contract, he would not even have bothered listening to her explanation.
Still not completely believing, he continued to listen. At this stage he needed as much information as possible; now that Zerin was spilling the beans, there was no need to stop her.
However, when she started to wander away from the topic, Xavier internally snorted to remind her.
"Hmm, I asked you why to put all of my unassigned attribute points into health, not to listen to your complaints."
This time his tone was a little harsh, as it should be. The fact that he started talking to her with straight face doesn’t mean he had forgotten what she had tried to do to him.
As long as he breathed, Xavier would never forget that.
He could almost imagine Zerin rolling her smoky eyes in his head as she tried to ignore the threat in his words.
"You are quite the impatient one, aren’t you? Hope you are not this impatient when dealing with girls. Otherwise with this attitude, being single for life is destined..."
Xavier ignored her snarky remark and instead glanced at the four women walking beside him with a slightly meaningful look on his face.
His meaning was clear.
You don’t need to worry about that.
For a moment there was silence, with Zerin not saying anything.
It was only when Xavier was about to force her again did she start speaking.
"Hmm... how do I explain this in human terms?....Right now you are a high-speed car with a low-power engine. If you want to truly unleash the full potential of a legendary grade, you need to evolve, not just evolve but choose a high-grade path that can complement your class.
"Yeah, just like class, evolution also has grades. Infinite Record gives you a list of evolution paths to choose from depending on how high your health attribute is."
Xavier’s face lit up. Although he did not trust Zerin, he knew this time she was speaking the truth. Moreover, with the familiar contract in effect, she could not lie even if she wanted to.
Thankfully in the past he had chosen to believe her words, otherwise if he had used his unassigned attribute points on something other than health, he would regret his decision for the rest of his life.
His situation would have been like a toddler handed a Desert Eagle and told to fire; in his case the toddler was his body and the Desert Eagle was his legendary grade class.
No matter how powerful a toddler was, it could not handle the recoil from the weapon.
After that Zerin spoke no more; neither did he want to hear anything from her.
His attention was once again on the road, slowly but steadily moving toward the elven village. With the help of the elves, he could finally make contact with his sister.
Thinking about his little sister, a slightly nostalgic look appeared on his face.
Although he called her little, in reality Lina was just one year younger than him. As kids they used to fight all the time; there would be no peaceful days.
Thinking about the childhood memories, a small smile appeared on his face.
Just as he was lost in his thoughts, a sweet voice drifted close to his ears. "Just one kilometer from here is our village."
Of course, it was none other than Princess Evelyn who had spoken. She had heavily stressed the words "our village," reasons unknown.
Xavier just shrugged his shoulders and acted as if he did not notice it at all, his focus entirely on the few houses scattered in the distance. Even though there were still hundred of meters of distance between them, he could already see over dozens of pointy-eared elves holding makeshift bows in their hands, bowstrings fully stretched, ready to attack at any moment.
At the front he even spotted one young-looking elven woman and a slightly more mature-looking elven male, both appearing eerily similar to Princess Evelyn, probably her blood relatives.
The male was dressed in armor made from the skin of some monster similar to the first sequence ire-breathing tiger, a sharp three-foot sword in his hand. He radiated a quiet air of confidence, giving the impression of a prideful leader.
While the young female elf beside him still had the look of innocence on her face, even though there was no wind her white, frilled dress seemed to dance in the air.
Xavier started deducing with the limited information he had.
Just when the distance between them was less than five hundred meters, a loud shout came from the front: "Warning, traveler, you are nearing the territory of my elven race. Return, or else do not blame us for being rude!" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The words were loud and clear, even laced with hint of clear killing intent.
At those words Princess Evelyn let out a satisfied smile on her face. Even during her absence, her two little siblings had managed the village well, not letting their guards down; things were indeed getting better for her race.
Not only did she find a protector with a legendary class, but her two little siblings had also started to use the heads above their shoulders.
Thinking of all these things, she had the urge to pray, to think the final gamble that she they had taken would be worth it.
After being lost in her thoughts for a brief moment, her aura suddenly changed. In a commanding voice Princess Evelyn declared, "Relax, it’s me, Princess Evelyn."
Of course the elves knew it was their princess, but they still needed some sort of confirmation, in the foreign land few things can be trusted.
Although she had uttered those words in a low voice, all those who heard them felt as if thunder had struck their ears.
A commotion soon broke out in the elves’ camp.
"It is Princess Evelyn and Great Protector Lirin, they have finally returned!"
"And who are these other people accompanying Her Highness?
"Humans? Could they be the representatives of the so-called Fort John human village?
"They seem pretty suspicious, especially that man. He is surrounded with blood, and the aura of slaughter is pretty thick around his figure. Can he be trusted?"
Xavier’s eyebrows rose upon hearing the discussion around him. He could not help but frown; was he that easy to read?
