Chapter 354: Ch The white worm wholes and the resources

"Indeed. While we have a vast area and many resources, much of it can’t be touched just yet. If we deplete those resources now, they will go to waste—especially since mana is beginning to flow and those materials are regaining their former, more powerful states.

We have already gone through most of the resources we can use. To say we are in need of more is an understatement; we are desperate. With our conquests still in progress, we won’t be getting materials from those fronts yet.

After all, it has only just begun—we’re merely 12 to 14 days in, so it’s too early to expect any significant results yet. So, we must turn our eyes toward these solidified wormholes and hope to find what we need inside." red empress explained with a serious face.

"Indeed, these wormholes have appeared at the right time!" Kallus said, shaking his head.

He contemplated the fact that they were nearing the point where they might consume all of their existing usable resources, just as the Red Empress had said. While there were supplies from the Universal Domain, they left much to be desired.

After all, he constantly had to bring teams of elites to attack and take over rich resource zones, and that was easier said than done. It was a task where even he might be forced to retreat; the beasts out there in the Universal Domain were no joke—they were not only numerous but incredibly powerful.

"Let’s forget about that for now. Tell me about the other wormholes that have stabilized," Kallus said, shaking off thoughts that were beginning to give him a headache. Not wanting to dwell on it, he changed the topic to focus on more immediate matters.

"Well, about five out of the ten wormholes that have appeared in the Sol Region have stabilized. Based on our data, two more are about to stabilize within the upcoming week. As for the others, they remain unstable."

"As I mentioned, these wormholes have spread around the Dark Star System in the Inner Region. There is another one appearing within the defensive zone of the inner circle as well—in the Blue Sea Star System. From there, creatures have emerged that are similar to the ones appearing from the wormhole in the Dark Star System based on strength.

However, while they were troublesome, they were easier to deal with physically as they are quite weak," the Red Empress said.

She waved her hand, and several holographic figures appeared. They were humanoid, though incredibly massive; the smallest was 18 meters tall, while the largest was easily upwards of 120 meters! They wore strange armor and carried cold weapons, and some even held magical staffs.

"They are able to launch fireballs, mana bullets, and other smaller spells with ease. As you can see, these people can utilise mana to launch attacks on this scale. Though the spells are basic, they are still very powerful.

If not for our ships’ dense shielding, many would have suffered. For the first time, we suffered a loss there... had they been even more powerful..." She trailed off with a sigh, clearly stressed by the incident, though she tried not to let it show too much.

"That’s a bit more worrisome, isn’t it?" Kallus said, his brow furrowed. "Those insectoid species were tough to handle because of their armour, but while these giants are easier to deal with physically, their ability to use magical attacks is far more troublesome.

If these are just basic attacks, who knows if there are others who can use even more powerful magic!" He relaxed his expression slightly and continued, "But with danger comes reward, right? We might be able to get some mana-based resources from this wormhole, couldn’t we?"

"That is true, and I’ve been thinking the same thing," the Red Empress said, nodding in agreement. "But the problem is, won’t we be stretching ourselves thin if we do that?" She looked him in the eyes.

"We will, but we don’t have to be hasty. We will proceed with caution and move slowly. For now, once the other Super Battle Star currently in production is finished, station it there. In the meantime, send two auxiliary fleets to the system to provide some stability," Kallus ordered.

Hearing that, the Red Empress raised her eyebrow. "Those fleets were meant for Grand Admiral Ezra and the others... won’t it be troublesome if we divert them?"

"It will be, but there’s no need to worry. Another batch of ships should be ready soon enough to reinforce them," Kallus said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Well, if you say so," the Red Empress replied, nodding and choosing not to argue further. "I’ll have the two fleets moved toward the Blue Sea Star System."

"Hmm. Tell me about the other three wormholes," Kallus said with a look of expectation. "Are they just as weird as these two? If they are, that’s going to be a real headache." He couldn’t help but think: My luck can’t be that bad, can it?

"Well, the others are even weirder," the Red Empress said with a shake of her head. Hearing this, Kallus’s mouth twitched violently. Damn, how could this be possible? Has my luck finally run out? Impossible...

"But weird in a good way!" the Red Empress continued, excitement evident on her face.

Kallus, who was cursing inside and petrified at the thought of his luck failing him, felt the corner of his mouth twitch even more violently. When he heard the excitement in her voice, he looked at her quickly and saw that her face was no longer serious—if anything, it was full of pure excitement!

Noticing his strange expression, she was confused for a moment, but she shook it off and continued.

"While something did come out of those wormholes, it wasn’t any kind of monster! Instead, after an explosion, the wormholes ’puked out’ different kinds of resources. You won’t believe me—there were so many, and in such large quantities!

We found Tier 0 to Tier 3 materials (a change in how we will quantify resources from now on), and even Tier 4, 5, and 6. Small quantities of Tier 7 resources were found as well, along with various spiritual herbs and seeds ranging from Tier 1 all the way to Tier 7!"

"And this happened with all three of the wormholes!"

"What? What did you say?!"

Stunned yet ecstatic, Kallus stood up from his seat and asked for confirmation once again. He thought to himself that not only had his luck not gone down the drain, it had reached the peak of Mount Everest! If this was true, then the headache regarding their immediate material needs was fulfilled, and they might even strike more benefits!

"Of course it’s true! Though, don’t get too excited," the Red Empress said, trying to wave it off and curb his excitement even as she struggled to control her own.

She spoke with restraint, "Indeed, we were able to excavate these resources as they came flying at us. However, the higher-grade resources are not as abundant as the others. There is just a bit more than enough to fulfill our current needs and plans, but anything beyond that would be a burden. Still, we have a massive amount of lower-grade resources—far more than we even need!"

"That’s still great!" Kallus said, not bothered by the rarity of the high-tier stuff at all. It was enough that these unexpected, "resource-puking" wormholes provided enough to meet current demands. And who knows if they will erupt again? They might land the same amount of resources, or maybe even more! Just thinking about it, Kallus couldn’t help but clench his fist. "Lady Luck is with us! Hahaha!"

The Red Empress could only shake her head with a grin, her excitement just a bit more controlled than his.

Kallus calmed down and asked for confirmation on a theory he had. He remembered something he had read in a novel back in his previous life on Earth. Something similar had happened there, though it involved a White Hole instead of a wormhole.

A thought suddenly struck him: Could these wormholes somehow be connected to a White Hole, like in that novel? It shouldn’t be possible... right?

"Umm, Empress," he asked, controlling his inner turmoil and excitement, "have you calculated if this phenomenon might happen again?"

"That I have done, and I am still doing so, for a few things remain puzzling. Even after the initial explosion—where the resources were thrown out—a small but steady amount of material keeps coming through.

Furthermore, a portion of the outer layer of the wormhole has begun to glow white again. It’s similar to how it looked before the explosion, when the complete body of the wormhole turned white right before it burst and those resources came flying out.

Based on that, we can indeed expect that this phenomenon is relatively repetitive and could happen again and again!
