Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 94: Bond Of Friendship
Theo and Raya had finally regained consciousness, and they sat up slowly, trying to assess what was going on. Theo turned to his right to see Michael, the Transponders, and Nathan standing there looking at them. He was a bit relieved, and he then turned to his left to see a seven-foot-tall knight standing there.
"Am I still dreaming, or is that a knight?" He was looking at Pryion; he was not even sure that there was anything that would have prepared him for that, and he was looking at something he thought only showed up in stories.
Raya sat up, rubbing her forehead to calm the throbbing pain she had. She turned to look at the knight. She rubbed her head to see if she had hit it so hard that she had a concussion. Looking up again, she could see the knight standing there.
"So am I the only one who can see a knight standing there?" She pointed out, looking at Pryion.
"You can see it too?!" Theo turned to look at Raya when he heard that she could see the knight standing there as well. It was like a dream, but then it wasn’t an illusion, and there was a seven-foot-tall Knight there.
"He calls himself Pryion, Darius Winters’s summon," Michael spoke up. The two warriors turned to look at him. The golden-haired warrior was not even sure if he was still going to believe that someone like Darius could control Pryion, but after hearing what Pryion said, he knew that there had to be something he was not seeing yet.
"I know you must be surprised, we all were at first. We thought he was some kind of enemy trying to kill both of you until Darius Winters told us what he was."
Theo was surprised; he knew Darius was strong, but then he didn’t know he had that amount of power within him to make him such a formidable warrior.
"I take it from the look on your face, Mr. Sung, you didn’t know that Darius Winters had this in his arsenal." Nathan’s taunting voice echoed from the back, and Theo’s face darkened when he heard it.
"If you ask me, a warrior who doesn’t show all his abilities to his own captain should not be trusted." Nathan smiled. He was planning on putting enough trouble between Darius and Theo. He needed something to help him take out the members of that raid, so he could be able to look for the members of his own guild, could make sure that they would leave and take the compensation money for themselves.
"So are you the trustworthy one?" Theo asked, his voice was so calm but yet it cut through the tension like the sharpest blade. Theo slowly stood up, he turned to look at Nathan.
"Darius might not tell me how strong he is, well, he doesn’t need to. I already know that he is far greater than me or any of us here in power and strength, yet I would walk with him to the ends of the earth." His voice echoed through their ears. Raya and Michael were looking at Theo, and they could feel the honesty in every word.
Nathan saw that he was not going to have an easy time getting into Theo’s head, so he wanted to make sure that there was something he would say about Darius.
"So you are telling me that you would follow someone who hasn’t even shown you the apex of his abilities to the ends of the earth? You would keep a wild card like that on your team, not scared that he would one day try to take it from you?" Nathan had a nasty smile on his face. He moved front, looking at Theo Sung.
"You trust him so blindly, like one day he won’t turn and cut you down where you stand." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Theo stared at Nathan, it was like he could read his moves, seeing all he was trying to do and the way he was trying to make sure that he would be annoyed.
"You speak like you are more righteous than he is," Theo couldn’t hold in his anger anymore. He was looking at Nathan, he could now see what Darius meant when he said only looking at the man would make him want to pop his head off.
"I don’t know why you want to make me hate Darius, you are not going to get what you want, and there is nothing going to make me even think of hating someone like that, not after all he has done for me." Theo turned away from Nathan, he wasn’t about to indulge in his antics. "Like I told you before the raid, a million of you would never reach one of Darius."
Nathan was looking at Theo, his heart was boiling with anger, but then he was not going to do anything since he knew that there was nothing going to come from it.
Theo walked to Pryion, he was fascinated to see a knight was Darius’s summon was a powerful knight. He already knew that Darius was strong, but then a creature like that.
"So what may I call you?" He smiled as he examined the knight; he could feel an intense heat even standing close to him.
Pryion was looking at Theo, he couldn’t feel anything like animosity from the warrior. "I am Pryion, Paladin Of The Chaotic Flame and the first fang of Lord Darius."
Theo smiled when he heard the knight’s name. "Pryion, what a cool name. I am Theo Sung, Darius’s friend." Theo extended his hand to shake Pryion’s.
The knight was shocked to see that the warrior was even trying to shake him. He looked at the strange human, he was not sure why, but looking at the warrior reminded him of Darius.
"Do you not fear me?" He asked, looking at Theo.
"Fear you? Nah." Theo smiled, he took a good look at the knight and he could feel Darius’s presence in him. "I can feel bits of Darius in you, so I know you aren’t a threat."
The knight stared at the warrior, and he could feel something peculiar about the warrior. ’He is almost like my liege, but I can feel a great power lying dormant in him.’
Pryion extended his hand and shook Theo’s. He didn’t want to say anything else, but he trusted the warrior.
"Darius Winters is something else, isn’t he?"
Theo turned to see Raya looking at Pryion, She was amused at how a warrior at SS-rank would be able to summon something that could level the playing field in one swoop.
"He is, isn’t he?" Theo smiled, knowing that deep down he had made the right choice by trusting him. "He is one of the only warriors I have seen trying to be different, he has a good soul. One that can’t be tainted."
Raya was looking at Theo; she could feel the trust he had for his partner, and it was clear as crystal.
"Maybe he is not like the other SS-ranks I have seen after all." She let out a small smile.
"So why don’t you...." Theo was about to talk to Raya when something crashed through the trees and landed on the rock there.
Everyone turned to see what it was, and to their shock, it was Darius. His face and body were covered in bruises, his head bleeding.
"Darius?!" Theo and Raya yelled at the same time, they walked closer to see what had happened to him.
Pryion could feel something coming for them. Looking up, he saw a being descending like a meteor.
"You’re the one who hurt my Liege?!" Pryion unsheathed Isakador, releasing the blade’s fiery mana. The heat from Isakador distorted reality close to Pryion, it was being used at half power. "Come to your demise!"
Ignor launched himself like a meteor with his axe held high; he went for Pryion. Both the titans clashed, the close impact of their weapons caused a massive shockwave, the trees that were managing to stand began falling, and craters formed around them.
Ignor was impressed, Pryion didn’t move a muscle.
"So there is another strong one amongst the humans?"
