Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 122: Another Step Forward
Darius and the others were getting ready to leave the dungeon; they weren’t going to stay there any longer to avoid things that would put them back.
Darius stood there looking forward; he was tired, but there was no way he would let it pull them back.
’You did a good job, Darius.’ Azree chimed in; his words brought a smile to Darius’ face.
"How? I only took down one of them..." Darius sounded a bit disappointed.
’Exactly my point, you not only took one of them down, but you have unlocked a deeper part of Slav’s powers.’ Azree sounded encouraging, even though Darius wanted to deny it. He was happy that he had managed to take down Deliri.
"But what next? I know that the entire divine pantheon of good and bad is going to be on my neck now." Our white-haired warrior looked at his fists; he wasn’t sure there was anything going to be keeping him ready for the fight that was ahead.
’You just need to be ready. I know that there is no way for you to lose them.’ Azree kept trying to encourage Darius.
Our young warrior could see that there was something lying ahead of him, and it wasn’t going to be easy for him, but if there was anything. He would need to show his grit.
"I will make sure that nothing is going to keep me down." He looked around to look at his comrades; he knew that if he were to falter, then the guild would have a problem.
"I have people relying on me now, so I don’t need to be scared all the time." He smiled.
"Thanks, Azree."
’Anytime, now please be sure you get some rest.’ Azree added that it seemed like he tuned off.
Darius nodded; he looked at his right arm to notice something odd. Another tattoo seemed to be forming close to the fire symbol tattoo he had.
’Another trial?’ Darius muttered, looking at the tattoo.
"My liege."
Darius turned to see that Pryion was still standing there; he was snapped out of his train of thought.
"Pryion, I need to get you back into the other dimension."
Our young warrior smiled; he was looking at Pryion. He didn’t know why it felt like he was throwing himself into a prison.
"I promise, Pryion, I will find a way to make it possible for you to stay in the human world with me."
Darius had a big smile on his face; he was looking at his knight, and he knew it was a bit sad for him to lock him up like that. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Pryion bowed his head; he didn’t know what to say to Darius. But then it was heartwarming for him in a way to hear that Darius wasn’t planning to have him locked up.
"I would be honored, my liege."
Darius took off his bracelet, opening the training dimension, so Pryion would step in.
"I will see you soon, Pryion."
He had a warm look on his face; it could put anyone at ease.
"I will be waiting, Lord Darius."
The portal closed, Darius turned back to his comrades, and began walking towards them. His legs were a bit weak—they shook with each step he took.
He remembered Azree’s words when he was facing Deliri, even though he was stronger than he was last year. He still couldn’t forget that he was a human.
[Mana- 5000/200,000.]
"I should have known that it would be this way..." He grunted as he struggled to walk; all the strain from the fights had left his body in a battered state.
"I guess my regeneration is still down," Darius muttered as he was about to fall back.
Suddenly, someone caught him. Darius turned to look at who it was.
"Michael?"
He was looking at the golden-haired healer, trying his best to keep cool.
Michael’s hand began to glow; Darius felt his strength coming back to him little by little.
"I know you must be tired, and I wouldn’t want you to pass out," Michael said. He kept a serious face while he healed Darius.
"I can’t restore your mana, but your strength and mana could be enough to help you out of here."
Darius could feel his strength coming back to him.
’I forgot he isn’t just a powerhouse, and if I am not wrong, he is as strong as Pryion when he isn’t using his sword or powers.’
He was looking at Michael; being able to move properly was something he didn’t know would be easy for another few hours.
"Thank you, Michael, I am—"
"Michael, Darius, come see this!"
They turned when they heard Theo calling for them, stopping everything. Darius and Michael rushed to find out what happened, and there they saw a warrior battered up.
Lying down there as he took heavy breaths, Michael moved forward. He placed his hand on the warrior’s chest, trying to see if he would be able to save him.
"Isn’t he one of the Ghastly Ghouls?" Raya asked, looking at the transponders.
The transponder assigned to Nathan and his guild nodded, but he was looking at the warrior.
"Those orcs must have caught up with him." The Transponder said softly.
Theo grunted; he turned to Darius and the others. "But I thought they were all taken care of, so how on—"
"It was Nathan..."
The warrior spoke up, making everyone turn to him.
"What did you say?" Theo was looking at the man like he had heard something odd.
"Wait, why on earth would he do this to you? He left with the others?" Darius walked closer.
The warrior slowly shook his head; he turned back to Darius. "The Orcs had killed four of us, but then he landed close to us— he killed the others."
Michael was having a hard time healing the man; the wounds were not much, it seemed like... "Please don’t talk too much; you are already dying as it is. Please, I want to save—"
"There is no saving me..." The man muttered, and he handed Michael a locket.
"Give it to my sister; she is the reason I joined his guild. I wanted to do anything to save her and make sure she would be okay..."
"Give it to her yourself; I am not letting you die here!" Michael was fighting to make sure that he would save himself before he passed away.
"The hits were on my chest and head directly; I only managed to crawl out." The man smiled; he handed the locket to Michael. "Please, give it to..."
The man couldn’t finish his words before he gave up.
Michael sat there looking at his dead body, and he couldn’t speak; he was too stunned to speak.
Theo stood in silence; Raya, with the transponders by her side, was also shocked.
Darius moved forward; he didn’t know what he could do about it. Using his strength, he picked up the dead man, his expression cold.
He turned to Theo, his face a bit off. "We can’t look for all of their bodies, but let us carry him out of here so he will get a befitting burial."
The others were looking at Darius, even though he was trying to hide it.
They could see the anger and sadness in his eyes.
The hate he harbored for Nathan Cruz was at its peak; he wasn’t going to let it cross his eyes again.
"Someone has to put him in his place!" He muttered as he carried the man, leading the way out of the dungeon.
