Leave Me Alone, Big Brothers! [BL]-Chapter 134: Special Cake
In the middle of the night, when Isabel entered the kitchen to get a drink of water, she saw Nathan and Serene still there. The kitchen was still brightly lit.
"Aren’t you sleeping?" asked Isabel. She walked slowly, as usual, toward the table, which was now a mess.
Nathan was still busy carefully spreading chocolate cream on the round cake in front of him.
Serene smiled at Isabel. "Look, Isabel, he’s making a cake for Master Roger," she said.
"I just made him a cake I used to make at the orphanage, so he can taste our cake," replied Nathan.
He really hated his birthday, which he had believed in all this time, only to find out it wasn’t his real date of birth. But he often made cakes and helped Lara make them for the other children.
For them, birthday celebrations were truly a luxury, and Lara made sure the children got that moment amid their simplicity. Somehow, they always managed to make cakes.
Nathan got higher-quality ingredients here, and he couldn’t believe the results were so different. His cake now looked so soft.
"You’re really good at cooking," Isabel praised, watching Nathan carefully turn the cake.
"No, I just cook to survive. I can’t beat Serene’s food," Nathan said seriously. Serene’s cooking was delicious and never failed to impress him, even the starters.
Serene blushed because Nathan rarely spoke and was reluctant to approach anyone in the house, so getting compliments from him or getting close to him felt like a special achievement for the staff.
Isabel stayed with them until they finished.
For celebrations like this, Serene could actually rest because they would celebrate at the hotel, and she would only have to prepare a few small things.
"When are you going to give it to him?" asked Serene.
"When does the event start?" asked Nathan.
"I think around 4 p.m., because it’s too cold at night. But other celebrations usually start at 7 p.m."
"Then 3 p.m. I’ll give it to him tomorrow afternoon. Besides, I’ll keep it in the fridge so he can take it whenever he wants," replied Nathan.
The clock showed 2 a.m. When Nathan was finally done, Isabel and Serene helped clean the kitchen.
At that moment, the phone in the kitchen rang. Isabel looked at Serene because it was unusual for the phone to ring at this time of the morning.
Isabel picked it up, already suspecting it was from Alexander’s room. She heard Huan’s voice, and her heart skipped a beat because she had heard about the man’s return but hadn’t seen his face yet.
"Is that you, Huan?" asked Isabel.
Huan replied on the other end and assured the old woman that it was really him. Isabel expressed her gratitude for several minutes as they talked.
"Okay, I’ll bring some food over there. Okay, I’ll also bring some peeled fruit," said Isabel, hanging up the phone.
She then went to the refrigerator and took out some fruit.
Serene approached her. "What happened?"
"Alex is sick. Huan asked for food for him. I think I’ll bring some for Huan too. He hasn’t left his room since he arrived," said Isabel.
Nathan stood there, not leaving the kitchen yet, but instead approaching Isabel.
"Can I bring it to them?" asked Nathan.
Isabel and Serene looked at Nathan in surprise at the request. It was very unusual.
"You want to bring it?" repeated Isabel.
"I’m going upstairs anyway. I’ll bring it with me," said Nathan seriously.
Isabel nodded. "Sure, you can bring it. But it will be a bit heavy. Be careful."
"I’m not a child. I can carry it," said Nathan. He was used to working in a café and carrying many glasses at once. Just carrying food would not be difficult for him.
Isabel was still peeling the dragon fruit when Nathan looked at her. "Just fruit?" he asked.
"Yes, I’ll give some biscuits too and cake for Huan."
Nathan stared for a long time before grabbing a small pot. He filled it with rice, water, and spices, confusing Isabel.
"You want to make something again?" asked Isabel.
Serene knew what Nathan was going to make. "You want to make porridge?"
"Alex is sick. He needs soft food. I will make him porridge. It’s easy and fast," said Nathan.
"Oh, Nathan, how thoughtful you are," Isabel smiled.
Serene helped by peeling the carrots into small pieces and boiling the chicken. The kitchen was back in action for the next half hour.
Nathan felt satisfied looking at the food on the tray. He hoped Alexander would recover and return to being his usual cruel self, so he wouldn’t regret it and feel guilty when he left the mansion later.
Nathan carried the heavy tray of food up the stairs to the quiet corridor leading to his brother’s room.
He saw the door slightly open and was grateful that he didn’t have to knock. He immediately walked in.
"Isabel? Just put it on the table," came a voice from inside.
Nathan placed the food on the coffee table. He stood staring at the bed curtains, which were currently closed. He was curious to see how Huan was doing.
So he walked closer and peeked inside. In the dim light, with the bedside lamp still on, the sight before him made his body tense instantly.
Because he had not expected that sight at all.
Huan was sitting while hugging Alex, who had his arm around her thigh. They looked intimate, but what made Nathan stand stiff was that Huan was not wearing any clothes, and neither was Alex.
Huan was really Alex’s lover!
Nathan couldn’t believe he had missed that.
Huan was also very surprised to see Nathan there.
"Nathan!" he whispered, as if afraid of waking Alexander.
But Alexander had already opened his eyes upon hearing Huan’s voice and was also surprised.
Instead of leaving, Nathan walked closer. He was curious.
"Hi, Huan. I heard you are back. How are you?" Nathan asked as he walked toward the bed.
Huan pulled the blanket to cover them. Alexander was now sitting up, his face pale with pain, staring unfocused at his younger brother.
Huan smiled awkwardly. "I’m good, Nathan. Yes, I’m back. I’m fine now," he replied.
Nathan looked at the two of them and moved closer. "Mmm, I made porridge for Alex."
Huan felt uncomfortable. "Thanks a lot, Nathan. It’s very late for you. Why don’t you sleep?"
"I’ll sleep soon." Nathan looked at the two of them curiously.
"Are you two dating?" asked Nathan.
Huan almost choked on his saliva. Alexander felt his head was very heavy, but he remained sitting upright, looking for his pajamas. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Nathan, can you go back to your room?" Alexander asked, putting on his pajamas.
Nathan stared for a long time before nodding. "Well, I just brought you some food. I hope you get well soon."
But he still stayed there for a few minutes, making Huan and Alexander freeze.
"Yes?" Huan felt Nathan’s gaze was full of question marks.
"So... you can sleep together as lovers even before marriage?" Nathan asked innocently. He wanted to know how they would get married later. He had never seen a couple sleeping together in front of him.
Huan picked up his shirt. "Oh, no. It’s not like that, Nathan. I just helped him calm down his fever," he said, not wanting to explain anything about his current relationship with Alexander.
Alexander was too weak to reply. He felt very dizzy and nauseous just from sitting up for a few moments, so he lay back down.
"Nathan, go to sleep," Alexander said weakly.
Nathan nodded. "Well, yes. I will go then. Please eat the porridge. Get well soon!"
"Thank you, Nathan..." Alexander replied.
Huan couldn’t leave the bed because he had taken off his pants, so he waited for the boy to leave.
Nathan walked out cheerfully. It seemed like he could sleep with Zane without any problems. Alexander did it too.
He smiled happily. He could stay at Zane’s house!
The next day, Nathan pulled Roger’s hand when the man was about to leave for his car.
"I didn’t buy any gifts because I’m sure you already have a lot of things. So I made a cake for you. You can eat it anytime," said Nathan, showing a chocolate cake with colorful sprinkles on top.
Roger was silent, staring at the cake, then looking at Nathan.
Nathan felt uneasy, afraid that the man would be disappointed. But the next second, he screamed in surprise because Roger pulled him into an embrace and kissed his forehead repeatedly.
"It’s so damn cute!!! I love it! So much!!"
Nathan squirmed, trying to break free. "Stop it!"
Roger chuckled and released Nathan from his embrace. He took the cake enthusiastically. "Serene, please take this cake for later. I want them to put a candle on it. But tell them not to let anyone eat it. I will eat it myself!"
Nathan gaped. "Wait, wait! I made it just for you!"
"Yes, it’s for me. I’ll show everyone you made it for me. It’s so cute," said Roger, staring at the cake in his hands.
Serene smiled and took the box.
"But..."
Roger didn’t listen to Nathan after that because he was too happy. Who among them had ever tasted Nathan’s cake? Only him! How proud he was!
Nathan just stared in disbelief that afternoon when his simple cake was displayed amid the hustle and bustle of the elite guests attending the party.
"Damn!" he muttered, embarrassed.
But Roger didn’t look embarrassed or forced at all. He proudly told everyone that Nathan had made it especially for him.
And that was enough to make his brothers envious.
"I want a cake from Nathan too," said Nael, who hadn’t even managed to get Nathan to make him a chocolate for Valentine’s day.
And the big, magnificent cake that was supposed to be the centerpiece ended up in the corner and was cut up afterward to be shared with everyone.
Because Roger strictly forbade anyone from touching his special cake.
