Chapter 217: [Epilogue 1.1]

[Zoe’s POV]

[Epilogue 1.1]

I went with the crowds as sneaky as possible to avoid them detecting me and sat on a secluded table far enough to spy on them.

My fingers clawed the tablecloth when Maxine didn’t give out any hint that she wanted to give up on Lawrence from the way she made every effort to be closer to him as she acted all cute and lovable towards my man.

Minutes passed by that I just stared at them with angry eyes, not minding some of the guys who were eyeing and wanted to talk to me. They backed away when they felt my mood worsening by the minute. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Who wouldn’t be mad?

That Maxine took every opportunity to act as Lawrence’s girlfriend. Serving him food. Occasionally touching him on the shoulders or ’accidentally’ brushing her plump breasts against Lawrence’s arm. Or that love-struck cutesy eyes which were staring at him. Or that pouty pink lips she bit while licking them when talking to him!

Although Lawrence stayed polite and remained unaffected by it all, he didn’t make any effort to stop the girl’s advances.

I grabbed my phone and messaged him, couldn’t take the girl’s flirting anymore.

[Where are you? Why aren’t you back yet?]

Lawrence picked his phone, and my tears almost fell when he frowned and shoved his phone back into his pocket.

I bit my lips, trying to appease the hurt.

[Why aren’t you answering?!]

I continued to message him while I tried to comfort my raging thoughts.

It’s alright. It’s alright. It must be someone else. He has not seen my message yet.

[Hey! Answer me!]

I messaged and messaged him, but he didn’t even glimpse to check his phone.

I didn’t even notice I was crying and clawing the tablecloth when Maxine continued to flirt with him while that oblivious, idiotic guy just lets her.

I was nearing my breaking point when the DJ interjected my erupting fury.

"Ladies and gentlemen, Lance Lee, in the house!"

The audience roared and cheered when the spotlight hit Lawrence’s face. Lawrence sweetly smiled much to the girls giggling.

He walked to the center and received the mike and sang on the spot.

He sang a song by Charlie Puth, Strip it Down on me, which made the girls wild and got on their feet.

I expected my eyes would shrink in size with the way it narrowed, glaring at those girls who were sexy dancing around him while the latter continued to sing and dance with the crowd. It made me fumed with rage and jealousy.

Then he winked at me.

I blinked.

Trying to discern if he did wink at me, I blinked again and found he was staring at me with alluring eyes and teasing grin.

This oblivious teasing idiot knows I’m here from the start!

I glared at him and stomped out of the club. My feet only made a few steps when strong lean arms circled my waist while that familiar hot breath fanned my ear.

"Where are you going, little kitten? The show’s just starting."

Before I could pull away, he grabbed my arm and twirled me around towards him as he danced and ground his groin against my belly.

The crowd loves it as everyone stood on their feet except for Maxine, who contented to glare at me nonstop with fisted hands by her side.

My eyes widened when Lawrence dance sexy, causing every fiber of my being to respond in a wild frenzy.

He continued to grin with a challenge in his eyes.

I couldn’t help but giggle. All my negative emotions disappeared.

You want to dance?

I’ll show you how it’s done.

Not only the girls cheered and went into chaos, but also the boys joined in when I shook my hips and gyrated against him.

We continued to have fun dancing together as he desperately finished the song. His movement was getting a little too hot, and the show turned rated-18.

I didn’t care.

I didn’t know if it was the euphoria of the moment, the song, the place, or it was because of the man I so deeply loved, I was feeling on high and always in heaven when I was with him.

The thing with Maxine became insignificant. Gone. Disappeared out our minds as we were lost in each other’s heat and constant touching of our body in rhythm.

The people seemed to ran a few kilometers uphill as panting breaths, and waves of laughter filled the room.

"You . . . *huff . . . jerk . . . How dare you tease me . . . *pant . . . You know I was there all along." I playfully hit his chest.

His cheeky smile widened. Holding me closer to him, he pressed our bodies together while his hands remained lock on my hips.

"Sorry, I couldn’t resist."

He gave me my favorite grin, and I forgave him in an instant.

He knows how to manipulate me.

"Why did you have a triple date? I thought you would just talk."

Lawrence tucked my hair behind my ears and gently caressed my face.

"Well, I thought so too. But when I got there, I was surprised to find some of her friends. I’m sorry . . . I got duped."

I rolled my eye and laughed.

I bet this Maxine didn’t want to end things with him. She just wanted to publicize that Lawrence and her were still going out.

Thanks to Elliot, Grandpa Luke, and Cain Fay, the media was controlled. Only a few knew that Lawrence and I were officially dating. The public only knew we were close friends.

"I’m glad to know you’re not entirely oblivious. I told you not to trust girls even if they were your friends in the past," I lectured while pouting at him, which he just chuckled.

"I’m serious." My eyebrow rose, putting my bitch face on. "I have about enough of her. This time, I’m stepping in to help you get rid of her for good."

Before Lawrence could open his mouth, I grabbed his collar and pulled him to me –– interlocking our lips for the world to see.

The sharp gasped pierced the silence that soon followed.

But I didn’t care.

I wanted the whole world to see this man belongs to me and me alone.

I didn’t care what they say about me. My reputation wasn’t good from the start anyway. As if having a bad reputation would kill me. I was already rich, and the people bought my paintings, not my personality and reputation anyways.

Time stopped, and the floor turned to clouds as the dark, cold room turned all sparkly and bright and warm as we were lost in our kiss.

In our own little world.
