Last Wizard King's SSS-Level Magic system in Modern World-Chapter 110: New Academy Transfer- Part 2
Chapter 110: 110: New Academy Transfer- Part 2
The first thing Liam did was head to the nearest washroom. Once inside, he locked the door and activated his spell.
A shimmer of blue magic surrounded him, and within seconds, Liam Sanders was gone. In his place stood Nico Vale—his carefully crafted false identity.
His features subtly changed—his eyes took on a slightly different hue, his hair darkened, and his facial structure sharpened.
It wasn’t a drastic transformation, but it was enough to make him look like a different person. Anyone who knew him closely won’t mistake him as the same person, but he still looked similar to pass off and not feel different.
Liam—or rather, Nico—stared at his reflection in the mirror, adjusting his collar.
’I need to embrace this fully. If Elder Erin and Bianca already know about my identity, I might as well act like it’s who I really am.’
With a deep breath, he stepped out of the washroom and made his way to his assigned classroom.
When he arrived, he was relieved to see that it wasn’t just filled with people his age. Unlike a standard school setting, the academy had students of all ages. Some looked as young as sixteen, while others were in their thirties or even fifties.
’Good. That makes things easier.’
The diversity in age meant that no one would be too fixated on him. At least, that was what he hoped.
He entered quietly, slipping into an empty seat near the back.
The other students barely paid him any attention—most were too focused on their own business, chatting in small groups or studying their spellbooks.
Liam took a moment to observe the classroom.
It was spacious, with wooden desks arranged in neat rows. Large windows allowed sunlight to filter in, illuminating the shelves lined with various grimoires and magical artifacts.
At the front of the room, a large blackboard was covered in handwritten incantations.
Just as he was getting comfortable, a voice broke the silence.
"Hey, are you the new transfer student?"
Liam looked up. fгeewebnovёl.com
A boy with light brown hair and sharp golden eyes had turned toward him, his expression curious.
Before Liam could answer, another student—a girl with short silver hair—leaned forward from her desk.
"I heard the transfer this time is special. Some kind of recommendation case."
Liam kept his expression neutral.
"I’m just here to study like everyone else."
The brown-haired boy grinned.
"Well, if you got in through recommendation, you must be talented."
Liam didn’t respond. Instead, he opened the book in front of him and pretended to read.
He could already tell that people were going to make assumptions about him. But that was fine. As long as they thought he was just an average student with a little talent, that worked in his favor.
The silver-haired girl smirked.
"You don’t talk much, huh? That’s fine. You’ll have to speak up eventually, though. Especially if you plan to survive here."
Liam frowned slightly but said nothing.
A moment later, the door opened, and a tall, imposing figure walked in.
The instructor.
The room fell silent immediately.
The man standing at the front of the room was an older professor with piercing blue eyes and graying hair. His presence alone commanded respect.
"Welcome, class. Today, we have a new transfer student."
He gestured toward Liam.
"Introduce yourself."
Liam stood up slowly. He felt multiple pairs of eyes on him.
He took a breath.
"Nico Vale. I’m a mid-term transfer. I look forward to learning here"
He said simply.
The instructor studied him for a moment before nodding.
"Very well. Take your seat. Let’s begin."
Liam sat down as the lecture started, relieved that no one had asked him anything else.
For now, his introduction had gone smoothly.
But he knew it was only a matter of time before something—or someone—tested him.
As the class progressed, Liam quickly realized that the academy’s teaching methods were more intense than he had expected. The instructor wasted no time diving into advanced theories of elemental magic, explaining complex formations and spell structures.
Liam took notes, pretending to struggle slightly when asked questions—just enough to seem like an ordinary, capable student rather than a prodigy.
The lesson continued for nearly two hours before the class finally ended. As students packed up their things, Liam heard the brown-haired boy from earlier call out to him again.
"Hey, Nico, do you have a combat class next? We usually pair up for practice."
Liam paused.
Combat training.
That was going to be tricky. He needed to make sure he didn’t stand out too much.
He turned to the boy and gave a small nod.
"Yeah. I guess I’ll see you there."
The boy grinned.
"Great. I’ll save you a spot."
As Liam walked toward his next class, he exhaled slowly.
______
Liam tried. He really did.
He made an effort to be polite, nodding when spoken to and answering when necessary. He listened, observed, and tried to find an opening to integrate himself into the friend groups that had already formed.
But for the first time in his life, Liam felt like he had no social skills.
Every conversation seemed to flow around him rather than with him. He’d make a comment, and while people acknowledged it, the discussion would quickly move on without him.
They weren’t hostile, but they weren’t particularly welcoming either. It was as if he was a ghost hovering at the edges of their interactions, acknowledged but not truly included.
Liam was used to being independent, but this was different. It wasn’t that he wanted deep friendships, but being completely isolated in a place like this felt... unnatural.
The worst part was that he wasn’t even sure if it was his fault.
Most of the students had been at the academy for months, if not years. Their groups were established, their friendships already solidified.
A new transfer, especially one who had come in through an unusual recommendation, wasn’t someone they felt the need to reach out to.
They probably assume I’ll leave just as quickly as I arrived, Liam thought bitterly.
A scoff echoed in his mind.
