Last Divinity: The Advent Of Dreams-Chapter 45: Khaladrenium
The following week the new people were getting acclimated to their new home, they were starting to lose their pale faces.
They gained weight and were obviously stronger and healthier than before. Then they were introduced to work.
To build the new school he planned to extend the glass dome and create a new sector for education there.
He estimated that project would take at least a few months. Lucy reported her progress with the homing missiles.
He was amazed by how far she had gone, while her method differed from the one he would’ve used it would still work.
His plan was to use infrared to track the target and hers was to use echo locations. She thought of the idea after observing the bat’s hunting style.
He approved her idea making her smile the entire day. Speaking of missiles he also wanted to start making satellites.
Being able to send satellites into outer orbit would be the first step to leaving the surface of this world.
For now they were working on a simple airplane. He also left that project to Lucy, the truth was that their scientific progress contributed to his divine energy points.
He was also the god of progress after all, but it wouldn’t count if he made everything himself.
He could teach and guide but certain ideas had to be theirs, they had to personally figure out how to bring things to life.
Sam suddenly ran up to him all excited, in his hand he was carrying a pen sized blue metallic bar.
" Look look." He gave him the bar with the excitement of a child who just figured out a new trick.
He took it and shook it, threw it up and caught. " Bit light, what is it?" He asked and Sam brushed his beard with pride.
" I call it, Khaladrenium in honour of the great Khaladrel." The moment he said that, Khali felt a wave of divine energy points pour into him.
He couldn’t help but smile internally, not only was a new alloy created, it was created in his name.
As the god of progress that was one of the greatest honours his believers could show him.
As a result Sam also felt a wave of divine energy flow into him, it turned into knowledge of many metals and how to work with them.
New runes, forging techniques and even art unrelated to forging. This was the rewards of his deed.
It was automatic, that way gods wouldn’t have to personally bless everybody for every little achievement or it would be annoying.
So they made it so their authority can do it on it own like an A.I. Sam immediately went on his knees and prayed.
Tears even streamed down his eyes, Khali had to stop him after an hour of endless prayer.
It was unsettling, he was trying to create a religion here not a cult. " Okay, now can you explain how you made this alloy?"
Sam’s proud expression returned, " I remembered that when you made brass you mixed two metals.
I didn’t know that was possible, in the past two years I had been working on that as well trying to mix many metals together."
Khali nodded, he was aware, infact Sam did make bronze, stainless steel and Rose Gold which was impressive but not enough to draw his attention.
" Well a few months ago, the expedition found a mine, or rather a pool of blue liquid metal like mercury."
Khali nodded, he was aware of that too, that metal they called Calluim didn’t seem like it was special in any way.
" Well I started mixing a lot of things together and nothing ever came out until I mixed titanium with stainless steel." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
He raised his eyebrow, " You mixed titanium with the alloy stainless steel? Is that even possible? Those two are incompatible."
Sam smiled like he understood, " Yes, the result was naturally an alloy with brittle joints that broke easily."
He nodded, that fit what he knew. Sam continued getting more and more excited the more he got to explain.
" That’s when I added calluim to the mix, it seemed to act as a reagent of sort, I’m not sure if that the correct term.
However it blended perfectly with both metals and forced them to mix and the result was this, go, test it out."
Khali did that, he tried breaking the metal but no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t do it, it was unbreakable.
He empowered his arms with mana and still nothing. He tried with divine energy and nothing still.
He grew fascinated, this new alloy drew his attention. He was now determined to test it limits.
He told Sam to bring a larger piece but he shook his head. "That’s the only one we have, it’s still the first product, I plan to make it even stronger."
He nodded, he still called everybody. Viona of everybody was the most excited when she head they were going to try to destroy something.
She was disappointed when she saw what it was though. They took it to the second layer which was the most durable.
Lucas was the first to try, for such a small metal he only used a simple fireball. It exploded drowning the metal bar in flames.
When the flames cleared it appeared without a scratch. He was surprised so was everybody except Sam and Khali.
Garo stood forward next, he waved his mace around then swung it down on the metal bar as hard as he could. A shockwave exploded out then he took four steps back.
He looked at his hand with confusion then back at the metal bar. Everybody was confused but Khali saw it clearly.
Before he could explain Lucy exclaimed. " It reflected the force of his attack, this is impressive."
Everybody’s expression changed, they looked at this metal bar with excitement especially it creator Sam.
Khali asked to see the callium metal, it seemed it was more fascinating than he initially thought.
He wondered why this subterranean world had things he didn’t know about even as a god.
If this metal can reflect force then it was more useful than others might think, especially against warriors.
He couldn’t help but smile. " This will he great.
