Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!-Chapter 175: Engagement
Annelise took a taxi to the villa where Sylvia was staying.
This villa was another residence of the Lowell Family, which rarely had visitors.
Annelise didn’t understand why Sylvia chose to meet her here.
Upon entering the villa, there was a large swimming pool, surrounded by a beautiful environment.
Walking further in, there was a main hall resembling a princess’s castle.
The Lowell Family doted on Sylvia immensely, a level of affection Annelise envied. Whatever Sylvia wanted, the Lowell Family would always fulfill it.
"Annelise, we’re here!"
Sylvia stood far away on the balcony of the villa’s second floor, waving at her.
When Annelise looked up, she saw Elias standing right next to Sylvia.
They really looked like a matching couple.
From Elias’s expression, he seemed to have let go of everything since last night, which was why he appeared so calm today.
He knew she was coming, but he didn’t care at all.
Sylvia deliberately leaned closer to Elias.
Elias stared at Annelise, his mind in turmoil.
Last night, he had intended to invite her into his car, but Lucas Lowell picked her up so quickly instead.
At that moment, his heart ached more than anyone else’s.
He couldn’t even compare to Lucas Lowell in Annelise’s heart.
So, she kept him at such a distance.
Did she even despise him a little?
"I just find men like you, so unattainable, handsome, and wealthy, a real challenge, that’s why I agreed to date you. I just got tired of it, understand?"
Annelise’s words suddenly flashed back in his mind.
The words were like a dagger that could stab him at any moment.
Every time he recalled them, they stabbed him again.
His heart was already riddled with holes.
Annelise forced herself forward, walking into the villa.
She recalled the box of condoms she had stuffed into Elias’s pocket last night.
So, he stayed in Sylvia’s villa and didn’t leave last night?
So, Uncle Ford really brought Elias to Sylvia for care in the end?
Her eyes darkened, her body slightly trembling.
How did he manage to be with her and then go to find Sylvia?
She pressed her lips together, holding herself back.
Footsteps sounded on the spiral staircase inside the villa.
Sylvia, with her exquisite makeup, ran towards Annelise.
"Annelise, I missed you so much. I had several custom dresses brought here today; later, try on your bridesmaid dress!"
Sylvia seemed to embrace Annelise as if there were no grudges between them.
Annelise felt that the hug was too unfamiliar.
"Ding dong!"
The doorbell rang.
Sylvia called towards Mrs. Shaw working in the kitchen, "Mrs. Shaw, could you see if the dresses have arrived?!
"Yes, miss!"
Mrs. Shaw walked to the door and sure enough, it was the dresses being delivered.
Upon returning, she handed the dresses over to Sylvia.
"Elias, help me decide which dress looks best for our engagement?"
Sylvia held the dresses.
All of them were shipped directly from abroad, the work of Master John.
Elias acted as if Annelise was invisible, "You look good in any of them!"
"Really? Elias? I’m so happy!" Sylvia knew that Elias said this only to irritate Annelise.
"Then this one, Annelise, come try it on. We’ll use this one as your bridesmaid dress." Sylvia handed a dress to Annelise as if she was being charitable.
Annelise took the dress and went into the dressing room.
However, upon taking the dress out, she discovered that, at some point, two holes had been cut into the back.
Annelise snorted coldly.
They really went all out, apparently intent on framing her with those pre-cut holes in the dress.
Sylvia stood in the hall, watching the direction of the dressing room where Annelise was trying on the dress.
Her eyes were filled with cold determination.
When Annelise comes out, let’s see how she will explain herself.
After all, Elias saw the dress just being delivered with his own eyes; claiming she was framed would have no proof at all.
To show Elias just how scheming she is.
Inside the dressing room
Annelise felt dizzy, but upon seeing the two holes in the dress, fixing them didn’t pose a challenge to her.
She directly tore the hem of the dress into an irregular shape, twisted the excess layers of tulle, and threaded them through the holes to form a bow shape.
Only then did she start trying on the dress.
Sylvia seemed worried when Annelise didn’t come out of the dressing room for a while.
This woman wouldn’t be planning not to come out, avoiding her way out of this mess, would she?
Wishful thinking.
Watch as she exposes her now, forcing her out.
"Elias, why hasn’t Annelise come out after so long? I’ll go check on her!"
If Annelise doesn’t come out, then all her carefully laid plans would go up in smoke.
She even had it all planned out. Later, when Annelise came out of the fitting room wearing that damaged dress, she’d slander her, saying she didn’t want to be her bridesmaid and destroyed her dress.
She wanted Elias Warner to utterly despise her!
At that moment, Elias Warner was indeed very worried.
Judging by Annelise’s expression just now, it was probably because she got caught in the rain last night, and she’s still not feeling well.
Sylvia Lowell didn’t wait for Elias Warner to respond; she ran to the fitting room and knocked on the door.
"Annelise, Annelise, why aren’t you coming out? What’s wrong? Do you need help?"
Sylvia leaned against the door, listening for sounds inside.
Annelise tried her best to wear the altered dress.
She unlocked the dressing room door.
Walked out from the doorway.
Under the light cascade of the crystal chandelier in the hall, she stepped towards them in champagne-colored high heels.
The skirt flowed like crushed moonlight, and the bow adorning her back was like a butterfly fluttering gracefully, settling on her perfectly contoured back.
Though her neck was without diamond embellishments, her long, white neck was as captivating as a swan’s.
She seemed like a figure stepping out of a fashion magazine.
Elias Warner gazed at Annelise.
Taking one step at a time towards him.
In his mind, he imagined the person he was engaged to was her.
His heart shattered.
He turned and ascended to the second floor of the villa.
"Elias, why are you going upstairs?"
This surprised Sylvia, especially since Elias Warner looked at Annelise with such tender, affectionate eyes, making her envious.
It seems the misunderstanding between the two hasn’t cleared up.
Sylvia Lowell laughed coldly with satisfaction.
However, she did not expect Annelise to fix the dress she had deliberately damaged in such a short time!
"Can we leave now?" Annelise said coldly.
"Annelise, why are you speaking so oddly today? Elias went upstairs to rest; are you okay? Why does your face look so red?"
Sylvia reached out and found Annelise’s head was burning hot!
"You’re actually having a fever? We need to get you to the hospital quickly!"
Sylvia shouted towards the second floor, "Elias, come down and take Annelise to the hospital; she’s got a fever!"
Elias Warner was startled hearing Sylvia Lowell say Annelise had a fever, prepared to rush out the door, but held himself back.
"Elias, come down quickly, Annelise has a fever, just take her to the hospital, will you, Elias!" Sylvia called out petulantly,
Finally, Elias Warner came down from the second floor, and Sylvia came up to loop her arm around Elias Warner’s shoulder.
Annelise felt piercing pain.
She stumbled away, responding, "No need!"
As soon as she walked out the door, she fainted.
"Annelise, Annelise! Quick, take her to the hospital!"
Elias Warner hurriedly approached, carried Annelise onto the car, and Sylvia also got in the car.
The three of them went to the hospital together.
Kybourne Hospital.
When Annelise woke up, it was already afternoon.
Sylvia was sitting by the bed, holding Annelise’s hand, "You’re awake, Annelise. You scared me to death; if anything had happened to you, I couldn’t explain it to your brother!"
She spoke while glancing at Elias Warner standing next to her.
Elias Warner didn’t look at Annelise at all, as if, to him, Annelise was an outsider.
"Thank you, you all should go if you’re busy; I can manage here on my own!"
Annelise didn’t want to see them acting close; she feared she’d lose control and go mad.
"How about this, Annelise, I’ll call my brother and have him come look after you!"
Sylvia said, pulling out her phone to call Lucas Lowell.
Elias Warner stood behind, clenching his fingers.
Several nurses walked in from outside, accompanied by a doctor.
"Doctor, please, this is my best friend, could you give her a thorough check-up?"
Annelise quickly said, "I don’t need it; you should go about your business. After all, there’s an engagement coming up, and I can’t afford to delay."
"Annelise, saying these things makes you seem too distant. Besides being your good friend, I’m soon to be your sister-in-law; it’s only natural I do something for you!"
Sylvia signaled the doctor to proceed with the examination.
Elias Warner went outside the room.
Annelise struggled to get up, but her body felt like a soft medicine, powerless.
"Miss Winter, please lie down; we’ll do the check-up!"
The doctor removed Annelise’s coat and began examining her.
Sylvia saw the marks hidden on her neck under the coat, and the marks on her body.
"Annelise, what’s happened here...?"
Sylvia was consumed with jealousy.
She recalled her spy telling her they saw Annelise and Elias Warner in the car...
Seems it was true.
She clenched her teeth, eyes gleaming with cold light.
Did Annelise not honor her promises?
Actually had relations with her fiancé?
