Laid-Back Life in Tokyo: I Really Didn't Want to Work Hard-Chapter 913 - 535: Christmas Eve Approaches (Part 3)
She suddenly felt that she also wanted to find that kind of feeling... that affectionate love, playfully teasing with someone she likes, and a face full of happiness.
After getting tired of playing, having someone to hold her, gently stroke her head to sleep, and smile warmly at her.
"Love, is it..."
She murmured softly, glancing again at the tightly closed bedroom door.
————————
It was evening, and Uesugi Sakura, who had been writing a novel all afternoon, walked out of the bedroom. In the living room, the empty box of takeout that Hanamaru Yuuki had eaten was on the coffee table, the TV was off, and there was no sign of her.
"Not here?"
Uesugi Sakura looked around but couldn’t find a trace of Yuuki anywhere.
Could it be that Yuuki left without saying anything, had she done something excessive again?
Holding onto this thought, he searched the house from left to right.
She wasn’t in her bedroom, the bathroom, the shower, or the balcony.
Having searched the entire home and not found her, Uesugi Sakura felt a twinge of panic, so he pulled out his phone to call Hanamaru Yuuki, thinking she might have gone out to buy something or who knows what.
However, he still couldn’t reach her.
He called three or four more times in a row, but there was no answer.
Growing increasingly anxious, Uesugi Sakura hurried back to the bedroom and called out to Hanamaru Hanabi, who was sitting on the bed drawing illustrations, "Hanabi, get up quickly."
"What’s wrong?" Hanamaru Hanabi saw his sudden urgency.
"Yuuki is missing."
"Yuuki is missing?" Hanamaru Hanabi looked puzzled.
"Yes," Uesugi Sakura nodded at her, looking for clothes to change into from the closet, "I searched the whole house, she’s nowhere to be found, can’t get hold of her on the phone either, let’s go out and look for her."
Upon hearing this, Hanamaru Hanabi quickly closed her laptop and got up to join him at the bedside.
"What should Hanabi wear?" Uesugi Sakura asked while flipping through her wardrobe.
"A windbreaker would do, I’ll handle the stockings and skirt myself."
"Alright."
The two quickly changed from loungewear to outdoor clothes, locked the door, and headed downstairs.
The winter dusk was gray all over, with a dull black sky, and even the snowflakes falling from it only glimmered when hit by the street lights.
Hanamaru Hanabi had a scarf around her neck and was wearing a warm red windbreaker, looking somewhat bulky.
Her breath visible in white puffs, her small face still red: "Sakura-kun, where are we going to look for her?"
"Where to? Is there anywhere she likes to go?"
Hanamaru Hanabi shook her head.
"No?"
"Hanabi doesn’t know where Yuuki likes to go, she’s been abroad these past few years..."
"Then what to do, we can’t go searching every corner." Uesugi Sakura frowned, thinking hard, but still had no idea where she might like to hang out.
School? Childhood favorite spots? Or perhaps Skytree Tower?
"Sakura-kun."
"What is it, Hanabi, have you thought of something?"
"We can ask Shinetsu, Yuuki-chan is his sister, he would definitely know."
"Alright, I don’t have his number, hurry and ask."
"Okay."
Hanamaru Hanabi patted her clothes and found her phone in the right inner pocket, quickly unlocking it to find the contact list, and found Hanamaru Shinetsu’s number under the Hanamaru family section.
She called, placing the phone by her ear.
Soon after, the call connected, and a very polite voice came through:
"Is it... Hanabi sister? Why are you suddenly calling... Merry Christmas in advance, by the way, is Sakura brother by your side? If he is, please pass my regards to him too."
