Laid-Back Life in Tokyo: I Really Didn't Want to Work Hard-Chapter 894 - 526: Outside the Bookstore in Snowy Tokyo (Part 2)
"Sakura, don’t bring up things that shouldn’t be mentioned!"
Hanamaru Hanabi pouted at him, with the adorable look of a cute girlfriend on her face.
She was standing under the eaves now, her figure mirrored by the moderately falling snow outside. Every slight movement and expression was incredibly beautiful.
"Aren’t I just sincerely asking for your forgiveness, Hanabi? I’ve always been looking forward to the birthday party you promised to throw for me again."
"Sakura, if you keep this up, there’ll be no birthday party!"
"Please... Hanabi-chan, it’s the thing I’m looking forward to the most."
They spent quite some time chatting in a dawdling manner before turning their attention back to the bookstore.
After glancing at the trademark logo of [Kadokawa Bookstore] by the doorframe, they walked in.
This Kadokawa Bookstore wasn’t a small bookstore but rather a supermarket-like two-story large bookstore with a full range of categories and a dedicated light novel area.
As soon as they walked in, there were quite a few people choosing books by the shelves, and on the right, there was a coffee area for people to read and relax.
This place was definitely a perfect haven for book lovers.
Uesugi Sakura used to particularly like such places, but now... reluctantly, he had a lot of art fundamentals to catch up on and no time to read.
"Sakura’s book won’t be placed in the corner, will it?" Hanamaru Hanabi, like a little rabbit, curiously looked around but didn’t find the light novel area.
"It’s very likely, but so what?"
"I just feel it’s so pitiful. Even though they’re all books, some get left forgotten in the corner..."
Uesugi Sakura held her hand and laughed, "If it wasn’t rare to see Hanabi-chan reading, I’d suspect you’re a literary girl."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because few people get so sentimental about a book."
"Aren’t you a literature major student, Sakura?"
"Yes, I am, so I understand what you just said. Actually, what you said just now isn’t just the book’s feelings, but also the author’s. Hanabi connected the book to the author, thinking of their hard work, not wanting it to be forgotten in a corner, hence feeling sorry for them."
"Sakura... you got it completely right." Hanamaru Hanabi was so surprised that she covered her mouth with her hand.
"Isn’t your husband amazing?" Uesugi Sakura said proudly.
"Yeah, yeah... no, no." Hanamaru Hanabi immediately shook her head, "Sakura, you’re not amazing at all, not at all!"
This was definitely implying that he wasn’t up to the mark...
Uesugi Sakura was still hung up about what she said about him in the morning...
But he wanted to say... which man can last like him for two hours?!
Hanabi had only been with him and thought it was normal, but just a little research on films would reveal it’s not normal at all?!
"Hanabi-chan, have you really never watched a movie?" On the way to the light novel area, Uesugi Sakura specifically asked Hanamaru Hanabi.
To avoid making her feel awkward, he even lowered his voice.
But even so, the shy little Hanabi still blushed and hid her face in her thick scarf, replying with a reddened face,:
"Sakura... why are you suddenly asking such things... why ask this out of nowhere?"
"What kind? Isn’t my question quite normal?"
"It’s not normal at all! What boy asks a girl if she’s... watched that kind of thing."
"So, has little Hanabi watched it or not?"
"Still asking!" Hanamaru Hanabi puffed her rosy, delicate cheeks and reached out to pinch his face.
Uesugi Sakura didn’t mind her pinching his face at all but was genuinely curious, so he asked again:
"Tell Sakura secretly, have you really never watched it, Hanabi? I won’t tell anyone, I’ll keep the secret for Hanabi-chan."
With Uesugi Sakura saying that, Hanamaru Hanabi hesitated for a moment but still weakly replied to him:
"No... haven’t watched."
"Really?" Uesugi Sakura found it hard to believe that someone hadn’t seen a film.
"Really!" Hanamaru Hanabi closed her eyes, trying hard to reply to him, like a cornered rabbit, "When has Hanabi... ever lied to Sakura."
If little Hanabi is so sure, then she definitely hasn’t watched it.
Uesugi Sakura remembers that he had asked her this question somewhere, but she never mentioned it.
"So, Hanabi-chan, do you know how long it usually lasts for others?"
Hanamaru Hanabi still felt embarrassed to answer, but since Uesugi Sakura asked, she mustered her limited knowledge on the subject and slowly tried to reply:
"Five hours...?"
Uesugi Sakura almost couldn’t hold it together when he heard this.
"Why does Hanabi-chan think it lasts that long?"
"Because... because..." Hanamaru Hanabi stammered, "because Hanabi’s first time was that long... and Sakura-kun was there too... being gentle... Hanabi... Hanabi’s heart was all tingly..."
By the end, the girl’s voice had become almost inaudible.
Uesugi Sakura was unsure if the issue was with him or with Hanabi.
Why was she able to endure five hours on their wedding night?
Even though he gave her a bit of Recovery Medicine, wasn’t she always supposed to be weak since childhood?
Or was it because he was afraid of hurting her...?
"Okay, okay!" Hanamaru Hanabi said shyly, pushing him away with both hands, "We came to the bookstore to find Sakura-kun’s work, why are we suddenly talking about this! Let’s just skip it!"
Uesugi Sakura, however, didn’t avoid the topic and seriously said to Hanamaru Hanabi:
"Hanabi-chan, I’ve realized that because our usual time is too long, you have some misconceptions about the duration of this matter. In fact, my two hours is already beyond human limits."
"Beyond human...?" Hanamaru Hanabi looked confused, "Is it because... you’re too weak to be human...?"
"It means very strong!" Uesugi Sakura coughed twice, avoiding the gazes of people around them.
Then, he pulled little Hanabi into a dark corner of the bookstore, propping one hand next to her ear, and leaned down to say to her:
"Hanabi, we need to learn some relevant knowledge."
"Relevant... knowledge? This... this can’t be learned, right..." Hanamaru Hanabi crouched down blushing, not daring to meet his gaze.
"Why not? Doesn’t little Hanabi think, how did we come up with so many positions? Last time, little Hanabi leapt four meters from the sofa to the TV, that was also a technique I learned."
"That’s not true!" Hanamaru Hanabi’s face turned beet red.
"Alright, alright, it’s not true, but doesn’t this prove that this stuff can be learned?"
"Has Sakura-kun secretly watched it...? It sounds like Sakura-kun has lots of experience, did you secretly watch it when Hanabi wasn’t around?"
"Ahem..." Faced with little Hanabi’s innocent face, Uesugi Sakura’s face also blushed, "After all, sometimes when you’re not around, as a guy, I do have certain physiological needs."
"But," Hanamaru Hanabi also felt very embarrassed, "without Hanabi, wouldn’t it be hard for Sakura-kun to...?"
"It’s indeed a bit difficult." Uesugi Sakura turned his face away awkwardly, "Wait, where were we going with this! The point of this conversation should be about helping little Hanabi correctly understand the related knowledge."
Hanamaru Hanabi suddenly stared at him for a while, then said:
"Let’s not talk about this anymore! Let’s go check out the Light Novel Area, Sakura-kun’s novels!"
After saying that, Hanamaru Hanabi slipped out from under Uesugi Sakura’s armpit, shaking her head as if she were tidying her hair.
"Sakura-kun, let’s go."
Uesugi Sakura originally wanted little Hanabi to watch some small movies with him to learn together.
But she seemed unwilling.
Just like how she doesn’t like horror movies; she really dreads watching them.
Uesugi Sakura guessed that when he was a kid, he told her that there were good movies at his house and invited her to watch together, and little Hanabi was full of hope, but he accidentally played a zombie movie that scared her into having a psychological shadow.
Uesugi Sakura even remembers that day, when little Hanabi cried and went back to find her mom.
Thinking about it now, it’s still pretty funny.
"Sakura-kun?"
"Nothing, let’s go."
