Laid-Back Life in Tokyo: I Really Didn't Want to Work Hard-Chapter 891 - 525: Light Novel Release Day
"Hanabi, Hanabi-chan, wake up."
Uesugi Sakura stood by the bed in the bedroom, gently nudging the girl who was still sleeping soundly.
"Hmm... Sakura-kun, is it morning already?"
Uesugi Sakura smiled, looking at the girl in front of him who hadn’t had enough sleep, and sat by her side, "Isn’t this bed more comfortable to sleep in?"
"Sakura-kun... How come you don’t mention that I’ve been sleeping in mom’s room for over ten years, so I’m more used to that?"
"Do you want me to cuddle you?" Uesugi Sakura leaned in a bit, feeling that her just-woken-up look made her appear especially petite.
"No way! Sakura-kun is a big meanie." Hanamaru Hanabi pushed his face away with all her might.
"Actually, the fact that you’re willing to come home with me suggests that you’re starting to forgive me in your heart, right?" Uesugi Sakura persisted against her pushing, looking at him.
"N-no...!" Hanamaru Hanabi kept pushing.
"Little Hanabi, just be honest. Would you go out with me today?" Uesugi Sakura kept pushing back.
"No!"
Hanamaru Hanabi gave up, shaking her head immediately, but soon, she quietly asked Uesugi Sakura, "What are we going out for?"
"A date." Uesugi Sakura touched his face, which had a red palm print from her pushing. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"A date...? We can’t date; I haven’t forgiven Sakura-kun yet." Hanamaru Hanabi lowered her little face, stealing a glance or two at him, "But... a short date wouldn’t be terrible."
"So, just a short date?" Uesugi Sakura laughed; little Hanabi was truly the kind of girl who got tricked and still counted the money for others!
"Hmm..."
"But before the date, there’s one thing we need to check out first."
"What is it?"
"My book’s been released..."
"’Love of Hanabi’?"
"Yes," Uesugi Sakura nodded, "For now, only the first three volumes."
Hanamaru Hanabi hesitated for a moment, "Sakura-kun, there’s something I’ve always wanted to say."
"What is it?"
"Are you really going to use that title for the novel?"
Uesugi Sakura chuckled, "It’s been this long, and only now you’re telling me this?"
"Speaking as Hanabi feels... the title sounds really odd."
"Why’s that?"
Hanamaru Hanabi lifted her gaze, "Because, it sounds like it’s about me, which is kind of awkward."
"The heroine is based on you, Hanabi."
"But, even so, it’s still awkward..."
"Alright, alright," Uesugi Sakura said to her, "So, would Hanabi be willing to go out with me? Let’s visit the bookstore, I’m a newbie, so my book might be placed in some corner... Would you really let a pitiful, failing novelist like me visit the bookstore to see my book all alone?"
Hanamaru Hanabi tried to imagine it, the failing light novelist Uesugi Sakura: "Of course I wouldn’t let that happen... that’s so pitiful."
"So Hanabi will come with me, right?"
"Sure... but..."
"But what?"
"How about Sakura-kun carries me out of bed today? You pick out the clothes too."
"Carry you to wash your face? Then get dressed?" Uesugi Sakura said with a smile.
"Yeah, it’s simple, right."
"And your underwear? Want me to help you with that too?"
"H!" Hanamaru Hanabi glared at him.
"Alright, I’m just joking, I’m afraid you’re too heavy and will crush me."
"Alright, here you go teasing me again! I’ll hit you!"
As Hanamaru Hanabi swung her fist at him, Uesugi Sakura caught her wrist, then, with a smooth move, pulled Hanamaru Hanabi into his arms, holding her legs and lifting her from the bed.
No matter how hard she kicked in his arms, Uesugi Sakura held the girl in a princess carry.
"Hanabi likes this the most, right?"
"Of course not..." Hanamaru Hanabi turned her face away.
This, absolutely cannot be tolerated!
"Alright! See how I punish you!"
Uesugi Sakura cradled her petite back with his arm, his hand resting on her soft waist; she was still in her pajamas, separated by a thin layer of clothing, Uesugi Sakura tickled her lightly.
"Haha~~~ Stop! No tickling!"
Sure enough, Hanamaru Hanabi shivered in his arms and couldn’t help but laugh.
Seeing her face so close, Uesugi Sakura could already smell the faint fragrance emanating from her body.
Such a beautiful girl, even her bones are soft and fragrant.
Feeling her weight in his arms, Uesugi Sakura felt an urge to rub his face against her.
"Sakura-kun, you bad guy..."
"Why do you love calling me a bad guy so much?"
"Because you are a bad guy, Sakura-kun... It’s that simple."
"Then shall the bad guy take you to wash your face?"
"Okay."
This time, Hanamaru Hanabi did not refuse, only nodded slightly with a flushed face in his arms.
Uesugi Sakura carried her to the washroom, preparing to put her down.
"Wait, Sakura-kun, I haven’t put on shoes yet," Hanamaru Hanabi clasped her hands around his neck, unwilling to get down.
"Shoes don’t matter, just go barefoot, I’ll get them for you later."
"Well... okay."
Uesugi Sakura slowly let Hanamaru Hanabi down, as she stood barefoot on the washroom’s tiled floor.
Looking at the two in the mirror, Uesugi Sakura bent down, aligning his face with hers, smiled, and said:
"Don’t you think we make a great match?"
"Is Sakura-kun especially talkative today?"
"A lot?"
"More than usual," Hanamaru Hanabi also looked at him in the mirror, observing his face, his eyebrows, nose, hair, "Actually... upon closer inspection, I realize Sakura-kun has changed quite a bit from what I remember."
"Has there been a big change? I shave every day, you know."
"Not too big, but you appear more like a man..." Hanamaru Hanabi said in a soft voice, turning her face slightly, raising her little face to smile up at him.
