Laid-Back Life in Tokyo: I Really Didn't Want to Work Hard-Chapter 838 - 496: Travel’s Private Diary
Click, the hotel room door closed.
"So, Sakura, have you realized that the first day of these three days just passed like that?"
Facing the girl who placed her hand on her own cheek, Uesugi Sakura felt an unusual sense of confinement under her gaze.
"So quickly?"
"Just like that." Hanamaru Hanabi said, puffing her cheeks and sitting back on the big bed.
"Hanabi, are you... still angry?" Uesugi Sakura turned to look at her.
"I wouldn’t get angry over such things."
"Still angry, right?"
"No."
Uesugi Sakura squatted down in front of her, holding one of her small hands with both of his, resting them on her knees, and looked up at her.
"I really didn’t do it on purpose."
"I... I wasn’t really angry..." Perhaps lacking confidence, Hanamaru Hanabi blushed and turned her head away, reluctant to look at him.
Uesugi Sakura gently played with her delicate fingers, stroking them with a smile: "What’s my favorability score now?"
"I don’t know..." Hanamaru Hanabi felt her words weren’t accurate, so she reorganized her phrasing, "Anyway... anyway, Sakura just needs to work on raising Hanabi’s favorability, nothing else matters."
Uesugi Sakura opened his palm, looking at the crystal-clear small hand placed in the middle; her hand was not sweaty but slightly moist and very smooth.
Her jade-white skin seemed naturally soft.
Perhaps feeling the warmth passing through her fingertips, Hanamaru Hanabi’s heart softened considerably. She looked up at the snowy cityscape and twinkling lights outside the window.
"If Hanabi... ever really leaves..."
"Dummy, how many times have you asked me that?"
"So... does Sakura know why Hanabi asks so many times?"
Uesugi Sakura was initially stunned, then looked down silently at her two small feet, and nodded in response:
"Yes, rest assured, I will always be following your shadow. As long as you turn around, Hanabi, you’ll definitely see me."
"Thank you, Sakura..."
Upon hearing this, Uesugi Sakura realized that whether it was little Hanabi or dark Hanabi... when her heart softened, she was gentle to everyone.
After all, their essence was inherently the same person.
"Tomorrow, we’ll go to see the snowy scenes at Hakodate Mountain. It’s getting late; let’s sleep early," Uesugi Sakura said to her.
"What about Sakura?"
"I’ll sleep on the sofa."
"Won’t we sleep together?"
"We agreed to keep some distance for now."
"Hanabi... really gave permission in the afternoon..."
"I’ll stick to the sofa."
"Why?"
"It’s called adhering to the rules."
Hanamaru Hanabi’s beautiful eyes looked at him, her exquisite face unknowingly turned rose-colored, "Hanabi will take a bath first..."
"Can I peek?"
"If Sakura wants to, you can."
"Really?"
"Really, but you can’t touch randomly."
"Forget it, I’m afraid I won’t be able to resist."
"Coward!"
Hanamaru Hanabi, holding the hotel’s change of clothes, glared at him before walking alone into the hotel’s bathroom.
Coward...
Uesugi Sakura smiled and supported himself to stand up.
It’s not really cowardice, just thinking that tomorrow we’ll climb the mountain, and can’t waste all effort here.
Besides, it’s part of cherishing.
Only by strictly restraining oneself can there be a more beautiful experience later.
He walked to the window, pulled the handle, and pushed the window outward. A gust of cold air mixed with snow immediately rushed in.
Uesugi Sakura quickly closed the window. Being blown by the cold wind, he suddenly realized something.
This afternoon, he was not as restrained as he is now.
...
...
When morning approached, Uesugi Sakura felt particularly crowded.
In his arms was a warm, cozy thing, tightly pressed against him, radiating warmth against his chest, yet when Uesugi Sakura fully woke, there was nothing in his arms.
This feeling of fulfillment and sudden emptiness made him desperately want to hold onto something.
The warm air from the air conditioner was blowing.
Uesugi Sakura put on his slippers, got up, and glanced around the bedroom, finding only a white duvet tossed aside on the bed.
Little Hanabi would always make the bed when she got up, while dark Hanabi mostly did it depending on her mood.
Uesugi Sakura checked the bathroom and toilet, and seeing she was not there, went back to the bed and sat down, noticing her phone was still on the bedside table.
He picked up the phone and pressed the screen.
"As expected."
Uesugi Sakura chuckled; her phone screen was always a photo of their first date.
Since they started dating, she kept this photo up constantly.
When alone, she would squat in the corner, hugging her phone and secretly looking at the picture inside. Uesugi Sakura accidentally witnessed it once; she stammered, trying to change the subject, but couldn’t avoid it.
"Hanabi sneaking a peek at photos with the phone curled up in the corner..."
Holding her phone, Uesugi Sakura muttered, already recalling her blushing, panicked state as she hid the phone.
That adorable appearance truly brought a genuine, heartfelt smile. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
She still kept the photo, which showed how deeply she missed a certain somebody.
Uesugi Sakura slid the phone, entering his birthday.
No surprise, the lock opened.
Peeking at the wife’s phone wasn’t really good, but Hanamaru Hanabi never hid any information from him; there should be nothing forbidden to see.
