Chapter 485: Chapter 485: Third Senior Brother

A tourist spot in Hu City.

A group of young men and women were taking pictures, and one of the girls was constantly turning her body, trying to find the best angle.

Suddenly, a young man with a ponytail entered the frame of the phone camera.

The young girl didn’t think much of it until the man suddenly turned his head to look at her. She gasped and quickly called her friends in a low voice.

"Look over there, quickly."

The young men and women looked over, and upon seeing the man’s appearance and outfit, they collectively took a sharp breath.

The man looked young, probably in his early twenties, with long white hair tied up in a high ponytail. The hair was naturally white, almost glowing in the sunlight, giving off a holy aura.

And his eyes were golden. For a moment, everyone felt as if a divine being had descended.

Upon closer inspection, despite having almond-shaped eyes, the man did not exude any charm or amorousness. His nose was prominent and the overall demeanor was as graceful as a fairy.

He was also dressed in a moon-white robe embroidered with the sun, moon, mountains, and rivers.

A celestial being, he must be a celestial being, right?

The young people, eyes glowing, exchanged glances and, being socially fearless, went up to him.

"Hello, may I ask which film crew you’re from? Do you have a social account? We’d like to follow you."

Their rational minds told them he must be an actor filming nearby.

But it was strange—an actor this beautiful and elegant shouldn’t be unknown. Could it be his acting skills weren’t great?

No problem, acting can be improved over time, but such natural beauty is rare.

Tantai Yi glanced down at the group, his expression indifferent, all the while thinking, what’s a film crew? What’s an account?

His master told him the Spirit Jade would lead him to his junior sister, yet after a long period of subconscious drifting, he found himself here, and even after walking around, the Spirit Jade had no reaction.

With his handsome and elegant features, white hair, and golden eyes, his gaze alone was enough to command respect. The young people immediately held their breath, not daring to press further.

Reluctant to leave yet unable to insist, they eagerly tried to find other topics.

"Your white hair doesn’t seem to be a wig. Where did you dye it? It’s so natural—it looks like you were born with it."

"Which brand of contacts do you use? This gold is so pure, I want to try it too."

Tantai Yi’s brow twitched slightly.

He scrutinized their expressions intently.

Mostly out of curiosity and admiration, not infatuation, just appreciation for beautiful things and people. There was no disgust, hatred, or fear.

"I was born with it," he said faintly.

The young people looked incredulous.

A young girl asked, "If it’s natural, is it hereditary or a genetic mutation?"

Tantai Yi didn’t understand, but he could already see the tolerance of people in this era.

He had been born with white hair and golden eyes, called a demon child by his village. Any misfortune in the village was blamed on him, even by his parents. At the age of ten, when a flood swept through the village, the villagers believed a traveling mystic’s words that he was the source of all calamity and that throwing him into the river would dispel the disasters. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

The hatred and fear of the villagers formed a stark contrast with the curiosity and affection of these youngsters.

No wonder his master said he was more suited for the era where his junior sister was. But where was she?

Jiang City, Jiangshui Cloud Capital.

Tuanzi enthusiastically laid out mung bean cakes on the table and invited Gu Zhuo to browse the latest issue of a magazine together.

"There’s also work from Teacher Mijiu in here, a serial, and a short story. It’s so well written. Miaomiao wants to go on an adventure in the amusement park with Little Bear too."

Gu Zhuo had previously preferred historical books, but since watching children’s stories with his sister and gaining some understanding of children’s literature, he found himself liking children’s stories.

Those healing little stories were so heartwarming.

He took the magazine and started with the short story.

The story was about a honey-loving, cheerful little bear visiting an amusement park and encountering crying squirrels and kittens. Upon learning their toys were taken by a big dog, the bear both sought adults’ help and devised plans to retrieve the toys for the other animals.

The little bear was clever and adorable, and after helping his newfound friends retrieve their toys, he begged his family for honey, offering his fuzzy ears to be petted or dancing amusingly.

While Gu Zhuo was reading, a small, furry head leaned in, staring at the magazine.

"Isn’t it great?"

At that moment, Gu Zhuo almost thought his sister was the little bear.

He patted the little bear’s head, "Yes, it’s great, consistently excellent."

He then glanced through the serialized story, blinking in confusion.

"Come to think of it, this writing style looks so familiar!"

"What is writing style?"

Gu Zhuo patiently explained to her.

Tuanzi’s eyes lit up.

"Could the stories you’ve seen also be written by Teacher Mijiu?"

Gu Zhuo scratched his nose, "No, they were written by Little Li. But the style’s similar, with some similar word choices."

That only happened after he (relentlessly) opened his heart, so his brother reluctantly shared them with him.

His brother even said those stories were scribbles, not meant for submission. However, if his internship needed more content, he might consider submitting them.

"It seems he hasn’t submitted to a magazine yet."

Tuanzi assumed Teacher Mijiu was a very gentle person and possibly an aunt or elder sister, not thinking further.

"Maybe those who write children’s stories all have this warm style."

Gu Zhuo nodded in agreement.

The two had no idea what they were missing, finishing the story and enjoying honey lemon tea and mung bean cakes together.

During their time, Tuanzi asked a few leading questions, learning that his cousin was finally standing up for himself and that no one in his department bullied him anymore. She also found out that his parents, intimidated by Old Sir Jin, didn’t bother him, and she nodded in satisfaction.

She was reassured, only to see Gu Zhuo, lost in thought, seemingly trying to stuff a mung bean cake up his nose.

"Hey!"

Tuanzi quickly grabbed the mung bean cake away, admonishing, "Noses aren’t for eating!"

Gu Zhuo snapped back to reality, apologizing awkwardly.

Tuanzi, holding the mung bean cake, suspiciously eyed him, "Cousin, you’re troubled about something, aren’t you? Don’t try to hide it from Miaomiao."

Under his sister’s non-threatening warning, Gu Zhuo hesitated before expressing his feelings.

"Miaomiao, do you think I’m wasting my talent?"

Tuanzi immediately understood that he was referring to stock trading.

Apparently, even if Jin Xuan’s parents had backed off, the shadow they and the teachers left in his heart remained.

Gu Zhuo seemed to be asking Tuanzi, but also questioning himself.

"Teachers in high school and college classmates all said I was wasting my talent. They said I should do what I’m good at, that insisting on studying archaeology was a waste when I could have created more value in the financial industry..."

He rambled, unfinished, when a small palm gently landed on his face, pressing down firmly.

A soft voice, as if a divine sound descended.

"Don’t let your talents bind your life."
