Chapter 33 - Do You Believe In Love At First Sight?

Li Yuan entered Li Luxian's office. He used to get surprised every time he saw his brother smiling but lately, it had been happening so frequently that Li Yuan sometimes forgot to show his dramatic 'surprised' response.

But Li Yuan had to say one thing. Though the smile looked charming on him, it still looked kind of weird on him.

For a man as serious as Li Luxian whose life revolved only around work and business, who had set a poker face by default since his childhood-to see his beaming face was still a new sight to behold. And it would take people some time to actually get comfortable with it.

"Li Yuan, do you believe in love at first sight?" Out of blue, those eccentric words were heard from Li Luxian's mouth accompanied by his still unaccustomed weird smile.

Ever since she had kissed him in front of that club, he had felt a sort of attraction towards her. And the time passed and they spent more time in each other company, he started to want her even more passionately to an extent where he wanted to bring her to his bedroom right then and do all those things to her he had envisioned. This past week had been torture to him as he patiently waited for their wedding date.

Falling in love at first sight-those words were perfectly normal. But they sounded so eccentric from his brother's mouth. Li Yuan felt pain in his chest from that bizarre situation.

Li Yuan clutched his chest. "Brother Li," He grumbled in pain.

"Quit your act." Li Luxian said in a serious tone realizing that his brother was back at his dramatic behavior.

"Now. Don't tell me you fell in love with someone at first sight. My poor heart can't tolerate it", Li Yuan said in his terrified tone.

"I don't know yet but...", Li Luxian trailed off as he tried to sort out his feelings.

He loved it whenever she smiled. He loved it whenever she blushed when he said something dirty. He loved it whenever her soft lips uttered his name. His heart would always go into a hyperactive state whenever they kissed. He could barely control himself from ripping apart her clothes and claiming her right there whenever she looked down bashfully. He felt an inexplicable elation whenever her piercing eyes looked at him directly in his eyes with an unmatched strength in it. He felt like she could see through his soul.

Was it love?

But how could it be?

They had barely known each other for a week.

"But?" Li Yuan's gossipy side was aroused.

"I can't stop thinking about her" Li Luxian admitted a little frustrated. Having her in his life had made him delay a lot of projects for the first time in his life as he couldn't stop daydreaming about her. "I think I like her very much"

Li Luxian so badly wanted to share his feelings with her. But he was worried that he would scare her with his words. Chen Yi wanted to take it slow. And she clearly had no idea how much he wanted her.

"Is it that girl you said you intended to marry?"

"Yes."

"So were you able to tolerate her company for more than five minutes?"

"More than just tolerate. I loved her company more than anything in this world" Why was his stupid brother asking such a basic question?

Li Yuan was shocked. Then a moment later, his eyes twinkled and he said enthusiastically wiping away the imaginary tears of joy.

"Brother finally you have found your soulmates! I'm so happy for you! Happy enough to forget about losing the bet I placed with Li Quang."

Li Luxian ignored him. It was useless to have a serious conversation with him anyway.

"Why were you here anyway?"

"Oh yes, I was here to inform you about the Wang family. Father would give his final decision tonight and he asked for your presence."

Li Luxian's face dimmed.

"If he is going to ask me to marry Wang Huailing again, I would have to be unfilial."

First, it was just because he didn't like Wang Hualing's clingy nature that he didn't want to marry her. But now, it involved more than that. He had actually started liking Chen Yi. He couldn't think of anyone else other than her when the word wife came to his mind.

"Relax brother. Our father is not that bad."

"Then does he intend to annul the engagement with Wang family?"

"Maybe. I'm not sure myself."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not sure but I think that he is planning something."

"Planning something?"

"You know our father. No one can guess what goes by his mind. But I can see his eyes sparkling with ploy and tricks."

Li Luxian was silent. Indeed that old man was very shrewd. He wouldn't let him off if he had the slightest suspicion that Li Luxian was only acting to stall his wedding. But the thing was that there was no acting anymore. What he felt for Chen Yi was turning more and more real.

"I'll deal with him."
