Kingdom Simulator: I, a Fallen Noble, Build a God-Level Kingdom!-Chapter 29: Orbital Magic
Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Orbital Magic
Romon couldn't help but smile to himself. Just hours ago, Lord Matthews had sworn to protect the ancestral lands. Now, only a few hours later, he was the legal owner of the vast wasteland.
The princess was truly a high-risk, high-reward gamble.
Despite the demon-like instability that came with her, her efficiency in getting things done was undeniable.
If he had been the one negotiating, he probably would have worn his mouth out without getting anywhere.
"Your generosity will be remembered for generations to come," Romon replied.
Matthews gritted his teeth but didn't speak. He silently walked away.
As soon as Matthews returned to the ballroom, Lord Nightingale came straight toward him, and the two nearly collided.
"Ah!"
"Old friend, how's your injury? You really shouldn't push yourself too hard."
"It's not important," Matthews replied, brushing it off. "But Matthews, tell me, what exactly is the relationship between the princess and that kid? Your steward said the brat came along for the ride—are they still spending time together in the same room?" Lord Nightingale questioned sharply.
His expression had taken on a menacing look. His own mistakes were troubling, but the thought of that brat clinging to a powerful leg was even more infuriating.
"Yeah, don't you know?" Matthews countered.
"Damn it! How would I know?"
"I warned you, my old friend. Twice, no—three times I warned you. But you didn't listen. Now you're probably feeling the sting of regret, aren't you?"
Hearing this,
Lord Nightingale sighed. It was too late for regrets now. There were many potions in the world, but none that could undo what had already been done.
The two of them quietly walked into a shadowed corner.
He had to figure out how to minimize the damage. "Looks like your plan failed too, Matthews."
"My plan?"
"Isn't it obvious? You thought you could use your daughter to get that brat, but the princess got in the way. It's clear as day—who are you trying to fool?"
"What are you talking about? I don't understand. There were only a few young men there, and Romon was the handsomest of them all. Of course, my daughter would choose him," Matthews protested.
"Stop lying! Listen. You and I are both in a passive position now. We cannot let the Thune family gain any momentum—not even an inch!" Lord Nightingale glared at Matthews, his voice rising with spittle flying as he spoke, "We should unite and come up with a plan to suffocate that little brat before he can rise to power!"
"Brother..." Matthews was cowed by Thomas Nightingale's forceful presence. "So, what do you suggest we do?"
"Assassinate him," Nightingale's cold words came like ice.
Assassination was the most undignified, underhanded, and sneaky method.
It was the complete opposite of a noble declaration of war or a future battlefield confrontation.
But these two lords had survived under the shadow of the old Thune family. Always cautious, they couldn't help but be reminded of the old, terrifyingly volatile Thune lord whenever they saw Romon's back.
They were scared to the core. They had to deal with Romon before things got any worse.
"Assassinating a lord... according to His Majesty's rules, such an act will be thoroughly investigated, and it's a matter of life and death," Matthews reminded him. "If the king finds out, we'll all be dead!"
"We just need to send someone to assassinate the assassin," came the cold reply.
"Damn it, how did we end up in this situation..."
"Or, we can just wait for the Thune family to rise."
...
Romon and Angelia didn't linger for long.
After eating, taking a bath, and settling into a ground dragon carriage, they headed towards Thune Territory.
Thanks to the special equipment, the ride was incredibly smooth, far safer than staying in some stranger's manor.
The night sky was starry.
Romon opened the simulator in his mind. Though the number of simulation rounds had run out, after arriving at the agreed-upon time, a new area on the territory blueprint had unlocked.
It was the flat terrain of the wasteland.
This success was mainly thanks to Angelia. Otherwise, with Matthews' constant scheming, it would have been hard to pull off any further tricks.
He closed the simulator and snapped back to reality, only to find Angelia lying on her side across from him, her gaze fixed directly on him.
Her body was pressed against the soft cushion, accentuating her curves. The soft, slender waist and the full, rounded long legs exuded an undeniable allure.
Angelia lifted a strand of her red hair that had fallen to her chest. The fragrance of her bath wafted through the air, mingling with the natural press of her two soft, ample breasts.
"Would you like to try?" Angelia whispered.
Romon stood up and moved toward her.
Outside the carriage, the cat-eared Nini was driving the ground dragon. Her cat ears twitched, and her face flushed slightly.
The ground dragon traveled until the next day around noon before finally arriving at Thune Territory.
Princess Angelia was well-rested, but Romon was exhausted and starving.
Having tracked the ground dragon's progress, Talia and Lornis had arrived early to greet them at the village entrance.
The carriage door opened, and Romon, his cheeks pale and dry, jumped down from the carriage. His body almost faltered, but luckily, Lornis was there to catch him.
Lornis looked at him with concern. After just a trip to Matthews' territory, Romon had become like this. It was truly a place of abuse.
Then.
She turned her gaze back to the carriage, waiting for the princess to emerge so they could head to the castle for a warm welcome.
However, Angelia's voice soon came from within the carriage, "You may go back. This princess is tired after the long journey and will rest here on the dragon carriage today."
At this.
Talia and Lornis could only respond, "Yes, Your Highness."
They then locked the carriage door for her.
"Lord Romon, have you used magic again? Did you encounter an attack on the way?" Talia asked.
She noticing Romon's poor condition. It seemed different from when his magic had been depleted before.
She reached out to touch him, but Romon quickly dodged.
"Yes, Talia, we should have returned early this morning, but we were intercepted by monsters along the way. The three of us got out of the carriage and fought. The princess and I battled all the way to the cliff at the end of the forest, and only just managed to draw the monsters away."
Romon casually fabricated the story, mixing truth with lies—half-truths were the easiest to believe. While he and the princess did indeed fight their way to the edge of the forest, there had been no monsters.
"I see, that can happen out there sometimes," Talia nodded, then excitedly reported, "Lord Romon, I've developed a new type of magic over the past few days. Would you like to see it?"
"New magic?"
Romon perked up slightly. This might be related to the increase in territory culture points. When cultural value improves, the speed at which mages study magic tends to increase.
Talia specialized in rapid-fire magic. Logically, she should be focusing on faster speeds, longer range, and higher damage.
What kind of new development could come from that style?
"It's a very powerful magic! Lord Romon, let's go try it out by the castle!"
"Alright."
He had planned to return to the castle to rest anyway, and he wanted to oversee the development of the wasteland. He had had his eye on that fertile land for quite some time.
The three of them made their way up to a hillside. Talia jumped onto a large rock nearby, checking the sky above for any obstacles.
She then said, "Please watch closely, Lord Romon!"
With that.
She firmly gripped her silver staff, first tapping it on the rock before raising it high into the sky.
There were no complex incantations coming from her mouth—this was her rapid-fire style. The magic cast this way typically lacked the power of a properly recited spell.

But this time, something different seemed to be happening.
Suddenly.
A burst of magical energy shot up into the sky, and something began to stir above.
As Romon watched, Talia twirled her silver staff, finally pointing the tip at a distant patch of wasteland.
Instantly,
A powerful beam of light descended from the sky, like the Milky Way falling from the heavens, striking the ground and turning it to dust in an instant.
"Boom! Boom! Boom—"
Romon could feel the vibrations from the ground beneath him and couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction.
Although this magic wasn't his own, watching the soldiers in his territory evolve with the growth of the land filled him with immense pleasure as their lord.
When the beam of light, as thick as a barrel, finally dissipated, a deep, round crater was left behind, still smoking.
"What kind of magic is this?" Romon asked.
"It doesn't have a name yet," Talia replied with a smile. "I didn't even think about a name when I came up with this; I was just following that fleeting inspiration and developed it."
"How about calling it Orbital Magic?"
