Kami no gyakuten:The yamato hero-Chapter 29: Sun Set
Chapter 29 - Sun Set
The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden glow over the Colosseum as the final decorations were being completed. Sho stood near the entrance, wiping sweat from his brow as he observed the clan members working tirelessly. Banners of the Hikari Clan fluttered in the wind, and intricate carvings lined the outer walls of the grand structure. The arena had truly transformed into a battlefield worthy of legends.
As Sho took a deep breath, a familiar voice called out behind him.
"So, this is the famous Colosseum?"
Sho turned to see Kyoko walking towards him, her arms crossed as she scanned the area. Her sharp eyes took in every detail—the towering walls, the massive stone throne at the center, and the bustling clan members putting in the final touches.
"You're late," Sho said with a smirk.
Kyoko scoffed. "I had some training to finish. Unlike you, I don't take breaks."
Sho chuckled. "Hey, I've been working all day. You just happened to show up when it's almost done."
Kyoko ignored his remark and walked further in, admiring the structure. The Colosseum was massive, built to host the greatest battles in Yamato. The seats stretched high into the sky, able to hold thousands of spectators. In the center of the arena, the battle stage gleamed under the sunlight, surrounded by various emblems representing the different clans.
"This place is huge..." Kyoko muttered, placing a hand on her hip. "Hard to believe we'll be fighting here soon."
Sho nodded. "Yeah. And it's not just us. The strongest rookies from all the clans will be here. It's going to be intense."
Kyoko turned to him, her expression serious. "You ready for it?"
Sho sighed, glancing at the throne in the center. "I don't know... But there's no turning back now."
Just then, Jun approached them, his expression pleased as he observed the finished decorations. "Looks like we're ready."
Sho and Kyoko both turned to him.
"Everyone worked hard," Jun continued. "Tomorrow, the Clan Wars officially begin."
Sho grinned. "Can't wait."
Kyoko smirked. "Neither can I."
Sho suddenly looked up at the sky. The sun was beginning to set, painting the horizon in hues of orange and purple. The sight was breathtaking, a moment of peace before the inevitable battles.
"Hey, Kyoko," Sho said, turning to her. "Wanna go watch the sunset from the mountain?"
Kyoko raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
Sho shrugged. "It's been a long day. Might as well enjoy the view before things get crazy."
Kyoko hesitated for a moment, then smirked. "Fine. But don't expect me to get sentimental."

Sho chuckled. "Wouldn't dream of it."
The two of them left the Colosseum and made their way toward the nearby mountain. The path was steep but familiar, leading to a spot that overlooked the entire city. As they climbed higher, the golden light of the setting sun bathed the land in a peaceful glow.
When they reached the top, Sho sat down on a flat rock and stretched his arms. "This never gets old."
Kyoko remained standing, arms crossed, as she gazed at the horizon. The sky was a masterpiece of colors, with streaks of pink blending into deep purple as the sun dipped lower. The wind was cool, carrying the faint sounds of the city below.
For a while, neither of them spoke. The moment was calm, almost unreal compared to the chaos that awaited them.
"You nervous?" Sho finally asked, breaking the silence.
Kyoko glanced at him. "Not really. I know what I have to do."
Sho grinned. "Of course you do."
Kyoko smirked. "And what about you? Are you nervous?"
Sho leaned back, looking at the sky. "A little. I mean, the Clan Wars won't be easy. There are a lot of strong opponents out there."
Kyoko sat down next to him, resting her arms on her knees. "That's what makes it fun, right?"
Sho laughed. "Yeah... I guess so."
As the last sliver of the sun disappeared behind the mountains, a quiet determination settled between them. Tomorrow, everything would change. But for now, under the fading light of the evening, they could enjoy this moment of peace.
