Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1546: Vessel Preparations
Shortly after Zhen Liu and his allies had cleared out the Redoxa underground fortress for whatever it was worth to them, they had collectively decided to get out of Rainbowden.
With the local Aether Saint looking for anything remotely [Law]-related, Smoking Mirror fucking off to who knows where, and Alain being missing as well, Zhen Liu figured that they had no more reasons to hang around. Then again, it probably also helped that they had already secured the materials they needed before shit had hit the fan.
Once they collectively decided to leave the city, inheritance of the Rainbowsmith be damned, the group made their way to a small, nondescript village with a cozy inn and used the place as a means to get to the [Library of Nowhere] without drawing suspicion...mostly.
As soon as this was established, though, Zhen Liu immediately separated from the rest of his cohorts to address one of the many hanging obligations over his head.
...
'Alright, I can already tell that this is going to bug the hell out of me unless I resolve this now, so I might as well get it out of the way before I actually do take that vacation,' Zhen Liu concluded as he cracked his neck and looked over the materials he had prepared.
The whole reason he and his allies had made their way over to Rainbowden was because Zhen Liu needed materials and craftsmen in order to help him refine the bodies for those fragments of the other Tezcaltipocas, who had gone into hibernation in anticipation for these new bodies.
A part of him had assumed that by the time he gathered all of these materials needed to perform such a task, these fragments would finally awaken, and they would provide him some input on what kind of bodies they wanted exactly.
Surprisingly (?), none of these fragments had woken up just yet.
'I might as well set it up like last time,' Zhen Liu concluded.
It should be noted, though, that unlike last time, Zhen Liu was going to approach this task with significantly better materials, a much larger knowledge base, and several tools of the trade that were going to elevate the quality of these…vessels.
'Okay, aside from the ingots of Malevolent Gold, I now have specialized materials for each of the god fragments. Hopefully, this will give them a leg up over Smoking Mirror and his merry band of feathery fucktwats…and whatever the fuck else he has cooked up.'
Thanks to Rainbowden being the city of artisans, it had a rather robust supply chain when it came to accessing unusually rare and unusually powerful aether materials that would make even the finest craftsmen salivate with greed. As such, Zhen Liu and his friends were able to secure materials that were worthless to most but absolutely necessary for Zhen Liu's purposes.
Why?
Because those materials were significantly more willing to work with [Chaos] than aether.
'Alright, let's start with Quetzalcoatl, the White Tezcalipotca…' Zhen Liu thought to himself as he prepared the materials for this particular body.
From what Zhen Liu could remember, Quetzalcoatl was the god of wind, light and wisdom, took the form of a giant feathered serpent, and was associated with jade and the planet Venus.
As such, he managed to get his hands on materials that were rich in wind affinity aether and/or sourced from serpentine aether beasts. In the case of one weird piece of material, it was something that seemed to be tailor-made for the winged snake god.
'Three pieces of Shining Light Jasper, one piece of Clearmind Sapphire, the hide of a sixth-tier Whirlwind Anaconda, and 3000-year-old White Jade Snake Bone infused with Venus star essence… how the fuck does something like this get a fucking name like that?' Zhen Liu thought to himself before his mind decided to pivot to an entirely different yet tangential topic.
'Wait, should I just make the bodies while I prepare the materials? ' Zhen Liu briefly paused before dismissing the idea entirely and preparing the next set of materials. 'Nah, let's go with orderly conduct.'
The next set of materials was prepared for the Blue Tezcatlipoca, who was also known as Huitzilopochtli, the god of war, sacrifice, the sun, and technically fire due to his main weapon of choice being a fire serpent. That stated, he was more closely related to hummingbirds as opposed to snakes.
Which turned out to be quite fortunate due to Zhen Liu being unable to locate any Ignarii snake materials but finding plenty of Ignarii hummingbird bits. Evidently, this was also the day that Zhen Liu learned that hummingbird-type aether beasts were actually considered quite rare due to their main method of attacking, which consisted of them dropping down from a high angle like a guillotine, being fatal more often than not for everyone involved.
'Nova Hummingbird corpse, Blue Flame Rubies, and something called the Iron Bones of the War God...I really hope that is just artistic alliteration and not a warning of just how dangerous this stuff actually is...wait, it might be?'
After Zhen Liu had laid out the war god's materials, he could immediately tell that whatever body he built for the fragments would be full of offensive might, but somewhat lacking in the defense department. However, the last of this trio of fragments would probably be the reason why none of them were going to fall in battle.
'And now, last but certainly not least, the Flayed One...how a guy with golden skin and this many scars become known as a god of medicine, I will never know.'
Xipe Totec, in all honesty, freaked the everliving fuck out of Zhen Liu...well, back when he was a regular mortal that is.
It had been said that the Red Tezcalipotca was the god of medicine, fertility, and agriculture, and that his flayed appearance was supposed to be symbolic of not just the cyclic nature of life and death, but a metaphorical representation of corn.
Either way, Zhen Liu made sure to gather materials that were associated with growth, death, disease, and medicine. As well as something related to quails, since the god was represented by the stuff.
'Vermillion Lead, Radiant Mercury, Everspring Liferoots, and the bones of something called an Pyrosoul Quail...I have so many bones…'
For each of these set of eclectic materials, Zhen Liu made sure to prepare supplemental materials of lower grades to serve as emergency filler.
'We got the other cursed metals from the Mines of Malevolence, which I'm still surprised that they haven't changed the name of yet, and some random stuff I stole from the Redoxa Family's vault crypt fortress thing...alright, I'm starting to realize I spend way too much time underground, I'm going to need a couple weeks in sunlight,' Zhen Liu concluded after looking over everything at least twice.
After he had finished preparing the materials and tables for each of the vessels he planned to make, he looked over the main tools he was going to use.
Namely, all of the custom-made crafter tools that Logos and Pathos had whipped up once Zhen Liu had returned with both the casting mold and the manual belonging to the Rainbowsmith.
'Damn, these tools feel like they're extension of my limbs...and slightly alive. Hmmm.'
Out of everything he was going to be using for this task, Zhen Liu was most excited by, and slightly terrified by, the casting mold that was left by the Rainbowsmith.
Physically, the mold looked like something that average aether puppet makers used all the time for their craft...if he was being generous. If he was being honest, it looked like something only an apprentice or an impoverished master would use.
However, if one were to use their aether or [Chaos] senses, they would be able to find that this mold wasn't simple in the slightest.
The former would've sensed an immense void that swallowed up their senses like a bottomless well. Eventually, one would find themselves staring into an abyss that was going to do more than stare back.
As for the latter, they would realize that this mold carried not just the power of the Riambowsmith, but the power of countless kaijin who has their impurities removed and their forms perfected over and over and over again.
They would see the myriad of memories these monstrous warriors had minted while under the service of the Rainbowsmith.
They would be able to touch upon the grief they all felt once their anchor had passed away.
And in a couple of moments, Zhen Liu was going to use this mold for something beyond its intended purpose...sort of.
'Okay, the manual said that the mold could be used to refine the bodies of existing zakos and kaijin, as well as make it possible to add more to them. However, it did also state that it was theoretically possible to use the mold to prepare bodies for kaijin ahead of time...there's probably some weird overlap between kaijin and godly fragments given Smoking Mirror's existence, so let's see what this baby can do.'
