Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1513: ...Turns into...wait a minute...
Zhen Liu seriously paused and thought about whether or not it was a good idea to abandon his original retreat plan on the off chance that he could attack Smoking Mirror and Alain from an unexpected angle and end the bastard in a split second.
Hell, if he were really lucky, he could also take out the city Lord and...wait a minute.
"Something’s wrong in the air," Zhen Liu suddenly declared with certainty. "Lythero, quick question. Do you want to get involved in this battle up there, or do you think we should stick with the original plan and get the ever-living fuck out of here as fast as possible?"
"Well, that’s an easy question," Lythero answered while still watching the battle above his head. "We should get involved and...wait a minute...why the hell am I suggesting that? I don’t even have my swords back yet!"
"Alright, it’s just as I feared, then. Either Smoking Mirror or Alain is doing something that is fucking with our ability to think straight," Zhen Liu concluded. "Which is mildly infuriating to be on the other side of."
The aura of [Chaos] that encapsulated Zhen Liu and his kaijin had the subtle effect of making the people subjected to it become significantly more casual with their thoughts, speech, and action.
Curse words flowed more easily, their plans and attacks became significantly more straightforward, and Zhen Liu could make them lose their cool at a significantly faster rate because their minds were so jumbled by the presence of [Chaos] being forcefully shoved down their metaphorical throats.
As such, Zhen Liu was more than a little familiar with the concept of a mind-altering aura and realized that he and his kaijin were being slowly influenced by it right when the kaijin were encouraging him to act a touch more recklessly than usual.
That, and he couldn’t help but notice that their voices in his head sounded off.
...
*Bing-Bong*
Okay, what the fuck? How was anyone supposed to get that from the last Chapter?
|If it was viable, I would change the font completely to notify such things. It’s already tricky using different markers for languages.|
Fair enough...
*Bing-Bong*
...
Once all of these pieces came together in Zhen Liu’s head, he could determine that either Alain or Smoking Mirror was releasing an aura that encouraged aggression and glory.
He wasn’t entirely sure who was encouraging what feeling, but Zhen Liu could at least confirm that their respective auras were overlapping their effects with one another in order to cause this weird feeling to bubble in Zhen Liu’s belly.
Needless to say, he didn’t appreciate being coerced into violence and anger when he was more than capable of getting there by himself.
"Alright, so now that we have established that us going up there and getting involved in the battle is a really shit plan... I’m just going to give them a parting shot to remember me by so that they have to deal with the lingering shame of getting blindsided like a bitch," Zhen Liu informed Lythero after taking a deep breath. "Be sure to drag me through the exit once the task is done."
"I—wait, what task?"
"You’ll figure it out in about ten seconds."
This incredibly vague statement of intent was soon accompanied by Zhen Liu pulling forth the [Godoku Gourd] from the side of his hip and popping open the bottom lid. Once the lid was open, Zhen Liu ordered several of his kaijin to load themselves into the weapon.
’Alright you guys, you know the drill.’
[Sir yes sir!]
As the kaijin leaped off of Zhen Liu’s body and transformed into the [Godoku Gourd]’s ammunition, the aforementioned weapon announced their epitaphs one after the other.
[Volcanic Valkyrie, set!]
[Thundering Diva, set!]
[Howling Blizzard, set!]
[Star-cutter Dancer, set!]
[Rebel Banshee, set!]
[Spring-heeled Magicians, set!]
[Ragnarockers plus Mysticlassic, set!]
[Get ready for a orchestral shot!]
’Huh... I just noticed this gourd has like twelve-ish slots in the back...why didn’t I think of this doing before?’ Zhen Liu asked himself.
As this realization of lost opportunities rattled in Zhen Liu’s brain, he noticed that the [Godoku Gourd] started to spark a bit more than usual when he started to activate it...as well as a multicoloured smoke cloud that seemed to be a feature as opposed to a bug.
’Oh...maybe that’s why...’
...Okay, now it’s time for a perspective change...
After making sure that they were on the same page of wanting to murder the everloving shit out of each other, Alain, Smoking Mirror, and the Rainbowden City Lord began to bust out more and more dangerous arts and treasures that they were saving for a special occasion.
[Cursed Sun Cutter!]
[Mad Artist’s Nightmare!]
[Shining Destroyer!]
Then again, what occasion could be more special than defeating a worthy opponent in battle and then using their corpse as a prop to enhance one’s reputation?
At this point in time, not only were these three ripping into each other at an escalating rate of increasing violence, but their subordinates were escalating issues as well.
Despite being outnumbered, Smoking Mirror’s bird-masked warriors were performing surprisingly well against the elites of Rainbowden.
Neither side, however, was truly able to overwhelm the other. Whenever one fighter on either side got into a precarious situation, their teammates would immediately stop fighting their respective opponents and move to assist, creating a perfect stalemate.
In other words, nobody was going to be winning this fight until someone from the outside came in and fucked things up.
This outside force should’ve come from either Smoking Mirror, Alain, or the Rainbowden City Lord.
The first one would’ve led his birdmen to victory, and secure several new host bodies for them.
The second one would’ve just... annihilated them all and reap whatever spoils they had on their person.
While the third one would’ve led the people of Rainbowden to victory and bring back peace to their fair city of madness and creativity.
As luck would have it though, none of these warriors were going to be able to bring any of these outcomes to past.
Instead, that right went to the unfathomably strange and unrelenting aura that appeared out of fucking nowhere and caused everyone currently fighting to pause in order to stare at the source.
"Who the fuck is that?!"
"What the fuck is that?!"
"Wait, why am I cussing so much?!"
"You..."
On the ground below them, a massive rainbow-colored cloud of smoke blocked their vision, but the fighting warriors could see the silhouette of a massive demonic warrior with crown-like horns.
The shadow appeared taller and wider than any building in the city, and had an aura that made the mortal warriors present feel as if they were staring into the embodiment of madness itself. As for those who weren’t exactly mortal anymore, they felt as if they were staring into an endless void that threatened to snuff out their existences.
The only ones who weren’t entirely affected by this aura were, again, Alain, Smoking Mirror, and the Rainbowden City Lord.
"So you were in the neighborhood after all, little Shaper..."
"It’s about time you showed your face, Pretender..."
"Uh..."
At the sight of this shadow, Alain and Smoking Mirror full turned their attention towards it, while the City Lord... wasn’t as compelled to do so.
He could sense that this shadow, the source of it anyways, had its ire aimed directly at the six-winged interloper who showed up out of nowhere and the asshole who just started swinging out of nowhere.
"Huh..."
His instincts told him that this battle would definitely end as soon as that demonic shadow made its move, so the City Lord sent a subtle signal to his fellow warriors that they needed to get the fuck out of the area as soon as it happened.
Needless to say, they readily agreed.
"Shaper! Enough with the grandstanding and get out here!" Smoking Mirror called out, ignoring the activities of his original opponent. "I know it was you who sent those spies of yours to fuck with my operations. So why don’t you come and—"
But before Smoking Mirror could finish making his grand threat, before he could even attack out of frustration, the demonic shadow made the first move.
With the ease of a king that bowed to no one, the shadow pointed a finger in Smoking Mirror’s and Alain’s direction before a soundless roar reverberated through the area.
[Godoku Cannon: Double Shot]
BOOM!
BOOM!
One after the other, two radically different beams of [Chaos] ripped through the air and flew directly towards Smoking Mirror and Alain.
The one aimed at the former appeared to be a bundle of natural disasters, all wrapped up into a unified beam of apocalyptic strength.
As for the second attack, it was a beam composed of dark and mystic energies that seemed to be the embodiment of all of the mysteries and secrets that mortal men shouldn’t pry into, lest they wished to turn into monsters themselves.
In other words, these were attacks that were perfectly suited for their selected targets.
