[Huh... you'd think a group calling themselves the "Calamity Triplets" would put up a better fight than that,] Hurricroak commented from her hiding spot. [Honestly, it's a little disappointing.]

[To...be...fair...they...have...never...dealt...with...Chaos...until...now.] Frosttusk snorted. [Would be...shocking...if...they...were... able to...do so.]

[Alright, remind me to throw you into the furnace before we do anything else today,] Hurricroak retorted before ultimately agreeing with Frosttusk's observation. [Well, I guess we can at least confirm that this was the most boring assignment of the three, right, Nepherage?

[...]

[Nepherage?]

Before answering her compatriot's question, Nepherage motioned Frosttusk and Hurricroak to look towards a direction opposite of the ongoing conflict. Looking towards that direction, both Hurricroak and Frosttusk began to narrow their eyes in suspicion.

If a regular mortal, or even a regular aether warrior, were to stare down this path, they would see nothing and sense nothing. However, in the eyes of those who could ignore any and all forms of protections and abilities related to aether, well, there were a lot more interesting things to look at.

Like, say, a weird-looking asshole carrying an even weirder-feeling aether treasure that resembled a weird giant bell.

[It appears someone on the Redoxa's side is attempting to do something stupid,] Nepherage observed. [And I do believe this would be the perfect time for us to intervene.]

[Agreed,] Hurricroak nodded, [but let's wait until the time is right, shall we?]

[Shouldn't be...too long.] Frosttusk rumbled in anticipation.

As the kaijin prepared themselves for an amusing battle, the mortals that were actively fighting right now were finally entering the final stage...of their first battle.

...Now back to the mortals...

The Calamity Triplets assumed that they were far away enough from their opponents that they could use that momentary respite to patch up some minor wounds and determine their next course of action in this forsaken battle of theirs. Evidently, they were wrong...sort of.

The distance between them and the defenders of the forge was just large enough that if either Alicia or Bellona attempted to fly towards them, then the Calamity Triplets would have just enough time to either run like hell or unleash hell.

However, this distance was also short enough that if the girls were instead launched towards the Calamity Triplets, then the latter would have no choice but to engage in melee combat.

Needless to say, the girls had gone with the latter.

"Zhen Xing. Zhen Tai. Would you mind lending us a hand and launching us towards those triplet bastards?" Alicia asked in an oddly elegant voice as she and Bellona readied their [Taboos] and began to run towards the aforementioned scions.

Neither of the scions needed any further explanations on what they needed to do, but they still appreciated the heads-up.

"Certainly!"

"On three!"

Both Zhen Xing and Zhen Tai got down on one knee and cupped their hands together to form footholds for the incoming warrior women.

"One! Two! Three!"

"Ha!"

It took mere moments for the ladies to get in contact with the Zhen Clan scions, and it took even less time for Zhen Xing and Zhen Tai to launch their respective partners into the air and towards the airborne Calamity Triplets.

Their initial plan was to simply attack the bastards and send them flying towards the ground, but once they got up there, a crazy plan began to form in their minds instead.

"Have we ever tried combining our attacks before?"

"Nope!"

"Welp! Let's see how this goes then!"

They had no technical reason to believe why they could combine the power of their respective [Taboos], but they had seen Zhen Liu and the kaijin do it enough times that they figured they could do it too.

Well, at the very least, figure out their own version on how to do so themselves.

Unfortunately, they were going to have figure this out while under fire.

Literally.

^They're heading our way!^

^What do we do?!^

^What else? ATTACK!^

While the Calamity Triplets didn't have enough time to release one of their big attacks, they did have enough time to release one of their quick yet coordinated ones.

One of the triplets unleashed a giant spear of wind that was further empowered by the other two triplets releasing a blast of lightning and a pillar of flames. The three types of energetic blasts proceeded to combine together and form a unified pillar of disastrous destruction.

Individually, the power behind each attack was the equivalent of a major Ethereal-grade aether art. Combined like this, though, and the power of their coordinated attack could rival the power of a minor World grade aether art!

If Bellona and Alicia were normal aether warriors, they would've been fucked at this moment.

Thankfully, they were anything but.

"Allow me to take the lead!" Alicia called out as she began to accelerate pass Bellona.

"Sure thing!"

[Drill Glamour!]

Channeling [Chaos] into her [Taboo], Alicia transformed the lantern-like weapon into a giant glowing drill that Alicia rammed directly towards the combined attack of the Calamity Triplets.

^Direct hit!^

^Not that it matters, look at what she's doing!^

^Ey yo, what the fuck?!^

With the power of [Chaos] focused into the tip of her drill, Alicia was able to break through the incoming attack and disperse it into a shower of harmless sparks.

Needless to say, the Calamity Triplets were incredibly stunned at the sight of this feat.

^How the hell is she doing that? That weapon isn't an [Astra] is it?!^

^I ain't sensing anything. Is it some kind of divine aether treasure?^

^Who cares?! Just pour more power into it!^

While the situation was less than ideal, a coordinated power attack was still the specialty of the Calamity Triplets. As such, it was fairly simple for them to pour more power into the attack and do something that Alicia didn't expect to happen.

She found herself getting pushed back.

'Well, shit.'

In fairness to Alicia, she wasn't mostly made of [Chaos] like the Kaijin, so she had a limit to how much she could channel and use. Honestly, it was still impressive that she could resist the Calamity Triplets despite them amping up the power.

Besides, this was only really a problem if Alicia was fighting by herself.

Due to the Calamity Triplets paying way too much attention to Alicia, they were unable to notice that floating behind them was a small brass ring that was releasing an increasingly growing cloud of purple smoke.

Not only that, but this ring was part of a set.

Directly beneath Alicia was a similar ring, and overseeing both of these hovering hoops of radiating the power of dreams and [Chaos] was a floating Bellona getting ready to make her move.

[Alicia, aim your drill downwards, now!] Bellona called out while using [Chaos] to mask her intentions.

"What? Oh!"

[Projection Glamour!]

It took less than two seconds for Alicia to understand Bellona's plan and less than a single second for her to follow through.

Without so much as a warning, Alicia proceeded to angle her drill downwards and launch herself away from the ongoing blast, forcing it to hit nothing but empty air.

The Calamity Triplets didn't even have time to comment about this sudden change in direction before Alicia had suddenly disappeared as she entered into the cloud of smoke beneath her.

And then, before the Calamity Triplets could even wonder where Alicia had disappeared to…

BANG!

"GRK!"

^Brother!^

^Where the hell did she come from?!^

…she popped out of a purple smoke cloud that was directly behind the Calamity Triplets and slammed her drill lance directly into the back of one of the Calamity Triplets.

To be more precise, the momentum from Alicia's sudden downward rush was kept intact as she fell into Bellona's [Dreamweaver Rings], so the impact that she inflicted upon the back of a very unlucky Calamity Triplet, the one that could control fire by the way, was the equivalent of a ton of bricks being dropped on someone's spine.

The poor bastard coughed a mouthful of blood from this sudden impact, because the [Chaos]-tipped drill ignored his [Regalia].

Looks of abject horror manifested on the face of the other two Calamity Triplets, and it wasn't just because their minds were being influenced by the ambient [Chaos].

This was the first time in all of their decades that the Calamity Triplets had been pushed into a corner so viciously by warriors that they thought were their inferiors by every category.

So getting their asses handed to them in such a brutal manner so... infuriating yet enlightening.

Unfortunately, they weren't going to be able to make use of such revelations at the moment.

Especially since, while they were in the midst of trying to retaliate against the brother's attacked, Bellona came in from their blind spot with both of her [Taboo] rings at the ready to fly.

And she had her eyes aimed at all of their juglars.

"Don't worry, you'll only be taking a little nap!"
