Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1483: Under Siege
[So it looks like our darling apprentices are going to be playing a fun little prank while they’re over at the enemy base,] Hurricroak reported to her fellow kaijin. [Should we tell the mortals that they’re about to be attacked by a bunch of villains, or should we keep mum and handle it ourselves?]
[Well, seeing as it’s probably going to take a few hours for those bastards to get here, and Miss Goldshire and Miss Ecaredies will probably be done by the time they get here... I think we can just leave them alone and let them have their fun,] Nepherage answered.
[Agreed...] Frosttusk nodded.
[Fair enough,] Hurricroak capitulated as she proceeded to flop onto the ground. [I suppose it’s only fair for the younglings to get soem valuable fighting exeperience under their belts...on a side note, are y’all feeling weirdly sleepy?]]
____Lazy little monsters, aren’t they___
"Those lazy little bastards..."Bellona mumbled to herself as she stared up at the ceiling of the workshop. "Looks I better get ready for a battle...wait, didn’t Alicia mention something about having prepared things if such a scenario were to happen again?"
"Hmmm? Bellona, what are you mumbling about over there?" Zhen Xing asked.
"We might be under attack soon from people who don’t like that we’re helping out Axer."
"Oh shit...should we be preparing to evacuate or getting ready to fight?"
"I think the latter, it shouldn’t be too much trouble," Bellona assured by soon-to-be cousin by marriage. "I think Alicia mentioned to me once how she prepared contingencies if she ever got kidnapped again."
"That...that tracks."
"Well, you’re going to have to wait a bit," Zhen Tai pointed out. "They’re in the middle of making... what the fuck am I even looking at?"
"Wait, I’ve seen this before at the academy. I think it’s called a...saxophone?"
"Weird name."
The time spent at Axer’s forge was fruitful but also incredibly boring...for some of the people present.
Bellona, Zhen Xing, and Zhen Tai had gotten bored of all the forging after about six aether treasures in; on the other hand, Alicia, Lyona, and Taurna were still rather engrossed with making even more aether treasures and weapons. The former slaves were eager to absorb as much as possible about this possible trade of the future, while Alicia was developing even more insights on how to make her own powers work even better.
^Can someone pass me the [Golden Spider Silk]? I need to finish stitching the last two pieces together for this commission,^ Axer asked with an outstretched hand.
^No problem.^ Lyona readily agreed as she quickly grabbed the spool of [Golden Spider Silk] from the top of a nearby barrel.
^I need someone to prepare the ice bath for this hammer’s head.^
^On it,^ Taurna answered while using an ice-type aether treasure.^
^Where the hell did I put that—^
^The mold you’re looking for is right underneath that worktable over there.^ Alicia interjected as she plucked a blueprint from jar full of scrolls. ^ You really should keep better track of these documents. Someone with a sharp eye could plagiarize these designs...^
^Heh, good luck. Bought those from a merchant from the City of Copper and Glass. Damn thing is indecipherable.^
^Right...^ Alicia pretended to agree as she had Sprocket look over the blueprints and record everything.
Regardless of this difference in willingness to assist, Axer was able to knock out over a dozen commissions with the assistance of the aforementioned trio and was right on track to pay off that stupid protection money.
However, things were not going to be as simple as they had hoped.
While in the midst of finishing their twelfth commission in a row, a strange ringing sound suddenly echoed out from Alicia’s hip.
^What the fuck?^
^What is that noise?^
"Uh oh..."
From the side of her hip, Alice detached a strange-looking clockwork object that resembled a parrot’s head.
Confusion was plain on the faces of everyone but Alicia, who looked at the mechanical parrot’s head and understood why it was making such a racket, and Bellona because she had already spoiled about what was about to happen by both the kaijin, who had decided to take a nap for some fuckass reason, and from poking through Alicia’s mind.
Once she understood the assignment, Bellona subtly signaled for her majin to get ready for battle.
^Alicia, what the hell is that severed bird head doing?^ Axer asked with a serious yet confused tone of voice.
^This is a special alarm tool I had made for situations such as these,^ Alicia explained while deactivating the bird head. ^It’s designed to alert me anytime people with ill intent are within a hundred or so feet of me. I’ve already been kidnapped twice; I am not risking a third time.^
^You’ve been kidnapped twice?^
^Yes.^
After answering this obvious question, Alicia put away the tools she was using to assist and produced from a spatial storage treasure on her hip a series of talismans and bombs that were designed to either capture or kill depending on the target.
At the sight of these items, Zhen Xing and Zhen Tai immediately understood what Alicia had in mind.
"You want to capture whoever is trying to make a mess of this place?"
"And hopefully interrogate a couple dozen answers from their breathing corpses, yes," Alicia answered. "While they’re not as thorough as Miss Jin Fang’s tools, I’m sure these will get the job done."
The sheer callousness and ruthlessness in Alicia’s voice did a wonderful job of getting everyone who heard her to immediately get on board with her shenanigans. Then again, it probably helped that Bellona immediately gave her approval, which made others think that this was an entirely normal thing to do.
"Alright, I’m on board. What’s the plan? Actually, better question, do we have any idea on who we’re dealing with?"
"Well..."
... Antagonists, enter stage left...
^Its been awhile since we’ve been allowed to rampage on the surface, brothers. We should make the most of it, yes?^
^We should, we should!^
^Now, now. The boss said that we still had to hold a little back when we capture our targets.^
^Fair enough...^
^He probably won’t mind if we break a limb or two, though.^
Walking down the city streets like they owned the damn place, a set of triplets in unique yet complementary clothes was make their way towards a workshop that a colleague of their burned down not too long ago.
This trio was known to the people of Rainbowden as the Calamity Triplets.
Once upon a time, these triplets were outstanding citizens and had a family name that was respected by some but ignored by most.
However, one day, that all changed.
The Calamity Triplets, for reasons nobody could comprehend, had suddenly decided to wipe out their estate, their fortunes, and their family in a single night.
Nobody knew the reason why they would do such a thing, but there was one rumor floating around.
The rumor stated that the night before the Calamity Triplets committed their act of extreme patracide, they were visited by a strange figure.
This figure was reported to have a strange buzzing aura to them, and that on the night it appeared, they had had offered the triplets a strange series of scrolls.
These scrolls depicted a series of arts known as the [Three Great Calamities], and that the power of these arts was the reason why the triplets had gone made in the first place.
But alas, anyone who knew of the truth on the matter were either dead or missing.
Regardless, once people saw that the Calamity Triplets were out and about, many people made it a point to get out of the way and hide as fast as they possibly could.
It was under there circumstances that the triplets arrived to Axer’s workshop, finding the place more or less isolated but not abandoned.
^Awwww, it’s like a burnt out pinata filled with candy...let’s blow it the fuck up.^
^Yes! Let’s!^
Raising their hands to the sky, the triplets began to circulate their aether and call upon the power of the [Three Great Calamities].
In one of their hands, a great ball of lighting began to form and crackle like a thousand chirping birds.
In the second, a massive conflagration of flames began to condense itself into a fireball that threatened to turn even the wielder of it into ash and cinder.
In the last, howling winds began to form a grand tornado, ready to tear apart the very world as it tore the flesh from the bones of those unfortunate enough to be in its wake.
[Great Calamity: Thunder!]
[Great Calamity: Fire!]
[Great Calamity: Cyclone!]
With perfect coordination, the triplets released their respective calamities at the workshop, ready to tear the place apart while blowing up the people inside as well.
However, before such an act could occur...something put a stop to their plans.
Or to be more precise, a pair of someones armed with a very potent technique.
