Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1311: Enlightening Failure
The enslaved Grandmaster had purposely questioned the kaijin's motives to create a brief opening.
In this opening, the Grandmaster proceeded to use his most powerful technique, a major Ethereal-Class Aether Art known as [Miracle Fist].
Against normal opponents, this attack was able to penetrate any defense and land a "miraculous" blow that could defeat someone even several rings higher than themselves.
To attach concrete examples to this estimation, an [Aether Grandmaster] at the first ring would be able to penetrate the defenses of a peak [Aether Grandmaster] or even an [Aether Lord] at the first ring.
When the Grandmaster struck out against the orangutan-like kaijin's head, he was hoping to burst it open like a rotten watermelon.
"Hah!"
A brilliant flash of light occurred the moment that his fist made contact with the kaijin's head, a hopeful sign that his surprise attack had succeeded.
Unfortunately, it didn't.
[Ha! Nice shot, shithead.]
"What the fuck?!"
After that initial burst of light had dimmed down, all of the observing mortals and nearby kaijin could see that the Grandmaster's fist had done absolutely nothing against the orangutan-like kaijin.
The only sign that "something" had occurred was the fact that the aforementioned kaijin was now surrounded by a fist-shaped crater.
Of course, the only parts of the ground that weren't indented just so happened to be the spot where the kaijin was standing and the places where his shadow was touching the ground.
In effect, it appeared as if the world was giving the bird to this opportunistic Grandmaster.
"No...way..."
Once the realization that his strongest surprise attack had failed, the Grandmaster's expression was that of pure despair.
[Well, as you can see, this fine warrior's attack did absolutely nothing,] the orangutan-like kaijin began to monologue while he still had the Grandmaster's fist. [And I can guarantee that even if he had an even stronger aether art in his arsenal, that the end result would be the same.]
Once he had finished talking, the orangutan-like kaijin proceeded to grab the Grandmaster's wrist.
[And you should understand that even though you can't hurt us, we can hurt you.]
The sound of smashed bone, torn sinew, and mutilated flesh echoed throughout the mines before it was replaced by the sound of the Grandmaster releasing a bloodcurdling scream.
In a moment that was faster than the blink of an eye, the orangutan-like kaijin had crushed the grandmaster's wrist.
As for the scream, it was something that only mortals in true peril would release.
Once the kaijin had released his grip on the poor man's wrist, all that was left was a mangled mess of a limb.
[As you can see, and probably feel, we are not only able to ignore whatever attacks you may throw at us but we can also break through whatever defenses you think you have. That's why none of you have any collars or seals in place. Your abilities are useless against us. The sooner you can accept this inevitably, the better.]
Several of the slaves present had honestly thought to do the same as the Grandmaster had done, but in more advantageous and private settings. But now that they were aware of this strange, cheat-like invincibility, many of them began to harbor doubts.
Especially when it came to the confidence they once had in the plans of a certain pair of young masters.
That is, until they saw one of them make a very subtle move while the orangutan kajin continued his speech.
At this point in time, the orangutan-like kaijin began to rant about how if any of the slaves attempted to escape, they would be hunted down like prey animals and that they were more than likely to get eaten alive as opposed to being recaptured.
While he was painting this gruesome picture, Zhen Xing moved to help the injured Grandmaster get back on to his feet.
"I told you that that was going to happen," Zhen Xing whispered into the Grandmaster's ear. "But you had to go and test it for yourself."
"I thought you were exaggerating," the old warrior whispered back. "Do you know how many people boast about being invincible, only to get thoroughly disproven?! Also, why can't I heal this injury? It fucking stings!"
"Like I said in the wagon, these guys have access to a weird energy that impedes aether," Zhen Xing explained while positioning his hand so that he could grip onto the warrior's shattered wrist. "Now keep quiet. I'm going to try and negate it so that you can heal."
With his hand hidden and placed on the Grandmaster's wrist, Zhen Xing began to channel his own brand of [Chaos] to try and negate the orangutan's influence.
Fortunately, it worked.
"What are you...wait, what?"
Zhen Xing's [Chaos] effortlessly dispelled the [Chaos] left behind from the orangutan kaijin's grip, much to the Grandmaster's confusion.
Once it was cleared, Zhen Xing removed his hand.
"Wait until we're in a cell, then heal. Otherwise, we're fucked."
"G-got it."
Unfortunately, Zhen Xing wasn't as subtle as he thought he was.
While a majority of the kaijin present didn't notice Zhen Xing's little trick, ironically, a fox-like kaijin that was part of this welcoming committee had seen what he had done.
However, they didn't bring this to attention to any of their compatriots.
After all, why should they benefit from her future bounty.
[Interesting...]
[Huh? What was that, Snatcher?]
[Nothing, you bloated jackal. Go and eat dung.]
[I just might. Roller has been acting up.]
Eventually, the orangutan-like kaijin finished his speech and gave the newly enslaved new orders.
[Alright, meat! You lot will be assigned to cavern...which one was the one that had just lost all of its occupants because of Rotting Crotch Crabs?]
[Three.]
[You lot will he assigned to cavern three. Follow that guy with the limp. Your first task is to clean the place, top to bottom. Now, move!]
Showing only a moment's hesitation, the freshly enslaved proceeded to follow the limping monster to their new home.
That stated, if everything that the Zhen Clan scions promised came true, then this new home of theirs was going to be very temporary.
"Hey," Zhen Tai whispered first. "Did you catch sight of any of Zhen Liu's kaijin, or nah?"
"So far, no," Zhen Xing answered. "It's possible they situated themselves deeper into the mine."
"Fair enough, they didn't really specify where they would reunite with us..." Zhen Tai sighed. "By the way, am I going crazy or is that fox-looking kaijin staring at you?"
"Maybe. Hopefully not...oh, wait! We almost forgot something."
"What we forget?"
"The seals."
"Ah."
...Meanwhile...
[Alright, wagon's loaded. Now get the fuck out of here.]
"Don't have to tell us twice."
With their wagon load now replaced with [Malevolent Gold], the two warriors from the Zorro Familia got ready for the next stop on their trafficking route.
Normally, the two would feel rather excited about being able to leave this wretched place with their loot in tow. But alas, the duo were feeling a touch more anxious than usual.
After all, their respective cultivation formulas were still sealed up.
"Bah! What's taking those youngsters so long? They should've undo the seals by now."
"Dude, relax. They're probably dealing with the shocking realization about how these guys are basically...wait a minute."
Before the two warriors could finish verbalizing their complaints, they simultaneously felt the seal on their cultivation lifting at the exact same time.
Coincidentally, the seals lifted themselves the moment the two warriors had exited the [Mines of Malevolence].
"Well...now I feel like a dick for trying to expose them via the slave papers."
"I can't believe you actually thought that would work. Everytime we come here, they burn all of their records like kindling."
"I know, I know," the other warrior grumbled. "By the way, do you think the names Zheng Xing and Zheng Tai are their real names or fake ones?"
"They got to be fake. Didn't you see how they scratched out some letters before writing new ones?"
"Oh yeah...wait, you think those two are related to the Zhen Clan?"
"The who now?"
"They're a clan of warriors that apparently started in Roaring Tide before expanding to Stampeding Bison. Apparently the founder of the branch clan was a criminal of the former before getting his name exonerated through extraordinary circumstances."
"What kind of circumstances?"
"Something about old family enemies. Anyways, do you got the itinerary on where we're supposed to be going to next with this cursed ass gold?"
"Uh...give me a second..."
The warrior that had been asking about who the Zhen Clan were exactly proceeded to reach into the wagon's storage bags before pulling out a scroll and unfurling it.
"Uh...says here that we're supposed to bring this gold to...wait a minute is this right? Says here we're supposed to bring this to a guy in Ashflower Town. Isn't that the Night Parade's territory? Why are we going there?"
"Wait..."
